Secret Modern Controls functions

Some aspects of the Modern Controls (or reworked old controls) are not clear right away.

This guide aims to help stand in for a manual for at least the changes compared to the original games.

Not explained changes:

TR1 Lara can now do the quick-turn roll underwater/while jumping unlike the original game.

TR3 Lara now sprint-rolls by pressing roll instead of jump and pressing roll while crouched now lets her do a previously cut crouch roll.

Modern Controls specifics:

Lara has a new move where holding action while running off a ledge will have her turn and grab the ledge AOD-style, sadly this doesn't work on ramps.

Having Lara's weapon's drawn allows her to walk backwards by holding walk.

Having Lara's weapons drawn allows you to back/side flip even when not locked on but you must press jump then the direction to flip in.

You now have two action buttons, Right Trigger shoots/grabs ledges and Y does everything else.

Holding Select and pressing some of the buttons such as the face buttons (similar to Holding select and pressing L1 for a flare like on the PS1) will cause Lara to swap weapons without needing to open the inventory.

Holding Walk while crawling in TR3 lets Lara crawl backwards.

"Holding Walk while crawling in TR3 lets Lara crawl backwards" is a very important move to know, since in later levels you need to do this move quite a lot. Would like to add that while moving back, you should press and hold the left mouse button so she can crawl back.

Go to the right of the passport while you're in the main menu and past starting a new game you'll have a quit option.

I feel like a complete idiot for asking this but HOW DO YOU TURN IT OFF? So far I've had to resort to using the stop button in my Steam library... that can't possibly be the only way.

Another handy tip for modern controls: Press Walk, hold down on the analog stick, then let go of walk. Lara will hop back without needing her weapon drawn.

If you jump forward and press back in the air you'll do a roll now, Also works the other way around.
Don't remeber if it was that way in the original

some other things ive noticed for mouse and keyboard. so 1 think is on mouse and keyboard on modern controls left click is set to action buttons so the jump is grab suddenly becomes much easier. also this probably applys in general but tumbling is impossible on modern controls without using the walk button. its set to alt key automatically but i like lot better as shift so to tumble shift jump jump and directional keys
