Unlocking part-time job events
Every part-time job has one event related to it that can be seen by setting a specific character on a specific part-time job. These events trigger randomly, with exception for Blacksmithing, which requires viewing another part time job event first.

I recommending keeping a save file on the final chapter with 30+ days or more left and all jobs available, set up a quick save, spam the given character on a specific job until an event plays, quick load, and do it again with the others.

None of the scenes give you money, items, or affection boosts. They are not required for Normal or Good Ending routes.
Who to assign to which job
Aqua and Megumin have eight events and Darkness has nine (denoted by a colored dot), and all three characters have two Event Scenes (denoted by two dots) to unlock for the CG/scene galleries. To unlock these, have the characters work these part-time jobs:

Aqua (Blue dot):
Bartending
Plastering
Bricklaying
Croquette Selling
Veggie Selling
Graveyard Duty (Event scene)
Babysitting
Fake Flower Selling (Event scene)

Megumin (Red dot):
Dishwashing
Board Game Flyering
Blacksmithing (Event scene. Sword-polishing event must be viewed first.)
Sword-polishing
Guild Filing
Butlering
Tutoring (Event scene)
Milk Carton Folding

Darkness (Yellow dot):
Stocking
Masonry
Mining
Party Recruiting
Armor Repair
Guild-sorting (Event scene)
Guarding
Town-cleaning (Event scene)
Church-cleaning

Colored dots represent which character needs to work the job for the event to play: Aqua (blue), Megumin (red), and Darkness (yellow). Two dots denote that there's an event scene associated with the job.

You have to keep track of these on your own as the only way the game tells you that you've seen a scene is whether or not you can skip the messages, assuming you have "skip unread messages" unchecked in the Config menu. You can still assign characters to task after the scene plays for materials, but no new event will play. These events can only be viewed once per game loop

What do the colored dots mean on the image?

Is there a way to track which ones you've seen? Also, once you've seen one, should you no longer assign that task to the character?

Just tried out all the jobs and scenes on a new file. Megumin's Blacksmithing event was the only part-time job that needed to have another PTJ event viewed out of all 25 jobs.

I went back to my save and got the sword polishing scene again and then I got the blacksmithing scene first try on the next set of jobs so it definitely seems like you have to get the sword polishing scene first in the same playthrough, who knows whether its intentional or just bugged. Probably worth updating the guide with this info.

Half the reason I made this guide was to reassure people that there is, in fact, a Megumin event with Blacksmithing because that event was not playing for me, and I didn't think it would just be a weird issue on my end. I didn't get it to play until I was doing my final character route. I tried spending the entirety of the final chapter spamming Megu on Blacksmith, which didn't work. Then I unlocked all jobs and tried again, and it didn't work. Then I tried to see if I needed to view other part-time job scenes, and strictly speaking from my personal experience, the Blacksmith scene played for me after I saw her sword-polishing scene.

Is there anything specific you need for the blacksmithing scene for Megumin cause I got all the other scenes but that one won't come up not matter how many times I try
