How to Install Mods for Railroader (Unity Mod Manager)

Guide for installing/using mods in Railroader using Unity Mod Manager.

How to Install Unity Mod Manager

1. Download Unity Mod Manager[www.nexusmods.com]
   
2. Extract the downloaded archive to a memorable location such as Desktop
   
3. Goto the newly created folder called UnityModManagerInstaller and run UnityModManager.exe
   
4. Make sure you are on the Install tab (1)
   
5. Select Railroader as the game (2)
   
6. In your game folder wasn't automatically detected, select your installation folder (3)
   If you don't know where that is, In Steam, goto Library, Right-Click on "Railroader", Choose "Properties", Select Installation Files, then click "Browse" in the top right.
   
7. Click the Install Button (4)

How to Install Mods

Most UMM based Railroader mods are hosted on NexusMods here: https://www.nexusmods.com/railroader

Once you find the mod you want, simply download using the Manual button:

Then in UnityModManager, select the Mods tab, and drag-and-drop your download mod zip file to where is says Drop zip files here. Alternatively you can click Install Mod and select the zip file.

Keeping Mods Up to Date

You can keep you mods up-to-date from the UnityModManager App. Just head to the Mods tab. Any newer versions will be shown in the Status column. Just right-click on the mod and choose download.

You can also enable/disable mods here as well by choosing install/uninstall respectively. Uninstalling doesn't remove it from your computer, so there no need to re-download it later. Choosing uninstall will just remove it from the game but it remain in this list so that you may install/enable it again later. All downloaded mods will be in your UnityModManagerInstaller\Railroader folder. Installed mods will be in your game folder, under Railroader\Mods.

Every so often, a new version of Unity Mod Manger is available as well. It will update itself, but you need to update Railroader to that version, it won't automatically/forcefully update your game. You must click on the Update button, then you will see the latest and installed versions matching.

I would like to see more routes or spur lines, Would also like to see some more newer model engines, i WOULD LOVE to see and have Electro-Motive-Division F-7s " Santa Fe Chief " models. if their are mod's out there any way of making then easier to install, not good and manipulating software like that.

There must have been a recent update on the main branch of the game because none of the whistles from Better Whistles appear in the customize list. The guide here is still good, but an EA game as Railroader currently is might be problematic for those that want mods.

0.27.14.0 is my UMM
i can select games in the list and most game i have i can press install except for RailRoader

no error nothing i am unable to install through the UMM the modfolder in Railroader main folder it stays greyed out for me aswhell for the 2 option ether Doorstop.proxy or Assembly every thing stays greyed out on buttons on the install tab
Dyson sphere program worked but not RailRoader
and my railroader is uptodate and so is the UMM

Everyone's data folder is named Railroader_Data. There are about 3,000 people using UMM w/Railroader so I'm pretty sure it's working ;) Are you getting a particular error of some kind?

unable to do that for railroader since it has trouble reading the file structure of that game
becausse off Railroader_Data my data folder is named like this thus i am unable to use UMM

it's unimportant now, I was trying to install the GP38 mod (without UMM, which, ultimately proved to be a fruitless endeavour), and I was told that the scripts for the sound mod would work if the correct 'Harmony patch' was installed.
