Rare and Legendary Animal Spawn Calendar

A chronological list (by season and day) of when you can find the Rare and Legendary colour variants of each animal.

Hope this is helpful for anyone aiming to get the 'Legend of the Land' achievement, or who simply wants to befriend the prettiest and wackiest creatures in the game!

I compiled this from the RoP Fandom Wiki and other players' discussion posts and comments on Steam - I haven't verified all of the dates or spawn conditions myself, so let me know if anything needs correcting.

Spawn Conditions

For a Rare variant of a species to spawn, you will need to:

• Have tamed at least 4 different variants of that species;
  
• Have tamed at least 8 animals of that species in total.

For a Legendary variant of a species to spawn, you will need to:

• Be in Year 2 of the game or later;
  
• Have tamed at least 6 different variants of that species;
  
• Have tamed at least 12 animals of that species in total.

What counts as having tamed an animal?

For the purpose of spawn conditions, you can count:

• Animals you have tamed and invited to the village.
  
• Animals you had tamed and invited to the village, but have since released.
  
• NOT animals that have been born via breeding.

Hey, awesome guide! The Snow Aurochs do spawn in winter, though. It's 14th Winter and I'm standing in front of a complete white Auroch and it's called a Snow Auroch.

Thank you for the nice guide! What maybe needs mentioning is, that the legendarys won't stay until you befriend them. At least for me they were gone after one day of playing to them. Guess I have to wait for another season to come by ... or buy something very espensive ;)
