Hetmanat: Total War - The Ultimate Compilation of Compatible Mods
By Maximus
Hetmanat - Total War is a great mod not only because it represents the best implementation of the new Ukraine faction, but also because of the many other mods included in it that make the gameplay even more exciting.

Unfortunately, work on this mod ended in 2017 and no updates were released anymore. It's also difficult to find any information on the compatibility of other mods with this mod, as the forum threads discussing this mod are long dead. Also, there is even less information for English-speaking players.

I'm a big fan of the Total War series, especially Empire - Total War and this mod is one of the best in my opinion because it minimally changes the vanilla version of the game while adding many new and unique factions, units and buildings.

But hand on heart, we have to admit that the vanilla version of ETW has a lot of different bugs and shortcomings. Therefore, for a more comfortable game, I tested and made a compilation of additional mods compatible with Hetmanat - Total War, which mainly represent only fixes of the vanilla version of the game and do not bring very global changes to the gameplay itself.

The list is a complete list of mods that improve the game
  • Shokh Hates Sieges! (A next level no-fortification mod)[www.twcenter.net] - completely disable city fortifications for you and the AI. Sieges in Empire Total War are glitchy, and most annoyingly, you can't repair fortifications. Even if you rebuild the fortifications, they will still have breaches. That's why this mod is a must have!

  • Diplomacy almost completely fixed (war, expansion, and all), and actually reasonable![www.twcenter.net] - fixes (most) of the problems with diplomacy in the game. You can find a more detailed description at the link, but trust me, it really makes Campaign AI much better and less aggressive.

  • Patch6: A conservative community bug-fix compilation - The aim of this mod is not to change the gameplay, introduce new troop types or rebalance the game, but to only fix the most apparent bugs and oversights as conservatively as possible while staying true to vanilla. Just must have!

  • A companion mod to the town wealth fix - adjusted port GDP[www.twcenter.net] - this is just must have fix if you're using a previous compilation of the community bug fixes, because it fixes a bug found by one of the fixes above. In short, just install it if you're using a previous compilation.

  • Orange Crush: The End to the Maratha Horde[www.twcenter.net] - this is also must have if you are tired of Maratha expansion of the whole world. This mod changes the way Maratha behavior based on historical facts. A more detailed description can be found at the link. The only problem with this mod (or rather fix) is that it requires replacing startpos.esf, which is already modified by the Hetmanat mod. So the startpos.esf from the original version of this mod is not compatible with Hetmanat, but I managed to add the changes to the Hetmanat version of startpos.esf that this mod needs, so now you can just download my version, the installation process will be the same as described in mod, except you have to use my version of starpos.esf file for HTW 3.2[mega.nz] and bonus from me starpos.esf + 4 Turns Per Year for HTW 3.2[mega.nz]

  • BRAN'S EMPIRE BATTLE AI MOD[www.twcenter.net] - for those who don't like vanilla AI during battles, you can try this mod. It doesn't change much, but in my opinion it improves the battles and makes them more realistic without any global changes. So I recommend using it for more immersive gameplay. Also read more detailed author's description following by the link.
One more thing, I also tried installing one of Bran's Empire Campaign AI[www.twcenter.net] modes, but they seem to be not compatible with Hetmanat and breaks some Hetmanat modifications, so I do not recommend using them, and it is not really necessary, because there is a mod in this list for fixing diplomacy attitude.

  • Balanced simple naval fix[www.twcenter.net] - this is naval balancing mod, that balances ships' firepower in addition to fixing the bug with additional projectiles in naval cannons. The original simple naval fix[www.twcenter.net] mod is already included in Patch6 from my list, so you don't need to install it. But if you want to make naval battles even better then you can try "Balanced simple naval fix".

  • 4 Turns Per Year for HTW 3.2[mega.nz] - this is mine modification for Hetmanat: Total War. It adds 4 turns per year instead of vanilla's 2 turns per yer. Installation: extract the startpos file to the main campaign folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Empire Total War\data\campaigns\main

That's all. I would appreciate your feedback on my compilation and if you have problems installing some mods or have other mods to add to the list, please leave them in the comments.

You can also download all mods at once here[mega.nz].

А і ще одне питання. Чи існує сабмод який заміняє саундтреки гри на козацькі пісні?

Добрий день, по завантаженню 4 Turns Per Year кампанія вилітає. В чому може бути проблема?

Are these compatible with vanilla? I'm looking for some quality of life mods for base game

Hi, these are only mods compatible with another mod called Hetmanate: Total War

Most of these mods are simply patches by the vanilla game community. So it's not comparable to DarthMod. But the Hetmanate mod itself adds a lot to the game. So I suggest you try it.

Are all of these combined better than the DarthMod stuff? I just had to reformat my hard drive and start everything over. I lost all the DarthMod stuff I had had, as well as the all factions mod that was compatible with DarthMod. I'm not very tech savvy and I'm new to modding in general. Thank you for any advice
