Luogang Park Autocross 2023 (Formula Student)

Beskrivning
Scratch-built FSAE track mod based on the new Hefei Luogang Central Park (formerly Luogang Airport) that hosted the final round of 2023 Formula Student China (FSC) series in November 2023.

The formula student track features multiple competition layouts that located on the recently repaved airport runway. Three primary layouts (Autocross, Drag Strip, Skid Pad) were accurately modeled with specific mechanism in this mod according to real event rule sets and footage, aimed to provide a realistic testing ground for developing and experiencing FSAE vehicles.

3D Models, PBR textures, AIW: S.Victor
Layout data (cone placement): ddabchen
Real life references, testing: rysim
Additional texture assets (road, grass, tree, crowd): Studio 397

General Info:

Location: Hefei, China
Type: Temporary Autocross Circuit
Garage/Grid spots: 48
Pit spots: 16 (shared)
Pit lane speed limit: 40kph

Layout Info:

- Autocross:
Length: 1.04 km
Width: 4.0m - 4.5m
Notes:
The layout has two sections where driver has to alternate through a series of cones. Enable driving-line assist to help with route.
The layout supports immediate out lap timing, which simulates the real event rules. Timing starts when car exited pit lane and crossed start/finish line.
To make a pit stop, follow right hand lane after last corner to enter pit lane.
The layout is used in two competitions: hotlap competition, based on fastest lap time from each team; endurance competition, two drivers (per team) have to complete 22km total race length (approximately 22 laps), with mandatory driver-swap scheduled at 11km completion.

- Drag Strip:
Length: 75m
Width: 5m
Notes:
According to real rule sets, a standing start is required. Driver has to stop the vehicle 0.3m behind start line (red painted line beside signal light), no tire warm up or burnout is allowed.
To make a pit stop, follow left-hand blue barriers after finish line.

- Skid Pad (figure of eight):
Length: 57m
Width: 3m
Race length: 4 laps
Notes:
Skid Pad layout starts with right hand circle (clockwise direction), then into left hand circle (counterclockwise direction), and repeats. Completing any one of the full circles counts as a lap.
According to real rule sets, driver must start and complete 2 continuous laps on right hand circle before entering left hand circle for another 2 continuous laps, then drive straight through start/finish line to finish. However completing 2 continuous laps would trigger anti-cut system that invalids lap time due to a limitation in game's AI waypoint system. The solution is to either alternate through right/left circles, or turn off "Track Limits Rules" setting.
To make a pit stop, drive straight and follow right hand lane after finish line to enter pit lane.

Additional Notes:

Track limits:
As the real event uses very strict rules and time penalty for hitting cones, it is recommended to set "Track Limits Rules" to "Strict" for most effective cut detection.
Track limits are defined at each side of cones, with a 0 to 10cm off-track allowance designed for 1.0-1.4m wheel track vehicles such as FSAE and kart.

Cones:
Due to lack of cone respawn or penalty system from game, each cone is set immovable with a smaller collision box.
