Ultimate Apocalypse and Unification mod are so bloated with overexcessive textures, SFX and mechanics that they are extremely unstable even if you follow all the steps for stability, reduced graphics, extended RAM etc.. The amount of battles crashing has become untolerable. I dont see the point in excessively improving textures and SFX when you have to reduce the graphics settings for stability anyway.
No; it's not. Because UA uses mechanics that were for the SS version of the engine.
I had the same issue and the best fix is just searching for a guide that helps you find other people in multiplayer browser.
As long as you both have the same files, it should work just fine.
