Requirements
  • Have an (Old School) Runescape account that is connected with a Jagex Account.
  • Steam and a Steam account.
  • Runelite installed on your system.
  • Jagex Launcher installed on your system.
Steps
  1. Open Steam, head over to your library. Find Old School Runescape and right click it to open 'properties'.
After opening the Steam properties, open the general tab and check the 'launch options'.

  2. Add the following line within 'launch options':
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Jagex Launcher\JagexLauncher.exe" %command%

Change the line between the "" to the path to the .exe file of your Jagex Launcher.

  3. Close the window and open Old School Runescape through Steam. If the Jagex Launchers opens just open Runescape with the Runelite client.

It does disable achievements, so run normally at the end of the advancement or use SAM accordingly

Does this disable achievements? Also MasterXilliam made my overlay work

MasterXilliam thank you so much for that

Yeah this seems to be hit or miss for me. I've been trying to launcher other games thru steam for the overlay and recording feature and this will hold around 12 seconds of the small window launching Runelite. I've opened the overlay during this time and it kept it up while loading and other times it's just gone, not opening again.
Yeah, Divines comment worked for the 1st go around but not since. This issue is present on the base command and
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Jagex Launcher\JagexLauncher.exe" --disable-gpu --disable-software-rasterizer --single-process --launch=osrs --silent %command%
That is really smooth btw going straight into the game, nice.

does anyone know if i can do this on macos? I've already done it on windows but i don't know anything about macos can someone guide me in a direction?

If it stops after few seconds, the reason why is probably because closing the jagex launcher does not close it, but sends it to system tray (inside the arrow button menu on windows taskbar). You need to just right click the jagex launcher there and click exit. When you do that and start the launcher from steam, now it does not stop tracking after a few seconds because instead of showing the already open launcher, steam launches the launcher itself.

this also only tracks if the jagex launcher is open, not runescape itself it seems

if it stops after a few seconds, u gotta close the jagex launcher entirely, through task manager or the system tray, not sure how if ur not on windows but whatever u do to fully close apps when closing normally doesnt. this is also why restarting ur pc works

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Jagex Launcher\JagexLauncher.exe" --disable-gpu --disable-software-rasterizer --single-process --launch=osrs --silent %command%

Enjoy! (osrs to runescape for RS3)
