Best characters for noobs

I've been playing this game since launch on console and after seeing the store page on steam i thought I'd grab it here. Loads of people are probably new and need help on getting more vanquishes, so I decided to make this guide. The game is essentially a class/hero based shooter with 2 sides. First we will go over the plants and then the zombies. Personally, I don't like playing on plants side (with a few exceptions) because I don't find their game play as fun as the zombies. Therefore my list may not be good in the eyes of an experienced player but whatever :

Peashooter

Regular peashooter is powerful by default. All other peashooters have the same playstyle as regular pea except agent and law pea. But if you're just beginning the game and got the law pea on your first packs I don't recommend using him. Instead if you want a peashooter that does a lot of damage and has an interesting playstyle and will also help you learn how to manage your health and learn to trade damage in general, then agent pea is for you.It's just like using a Marksman rifle but with high fire rate. Instead if you wanna jump around and get assaulted with multiple slurs, I recommend toxic pea and electro pea. Toxic pea has bigger splash than the other peashooters and also has the toxic effect. Electro pea is one of the best characters in the game as all the manual detonation characters. To close the peashooter paragraph, my final recommendations are:

-Agent pea
-Toxic pea
-Electro pea

Sunflower

Sunflowers are your healers on the plant side. Again, most sunflowers have the same playstyle but they can be pretty fexible because of their damage output. However, the best support sunflower is stuffy sunflower. Her gimmick is that she spawns mini suns that heal nearby allies from vanquished zombies. But if you wanna play aggressive as a sunflower, I got 2 recommendations for ya. Number one is the vampire flower. She heals health on hit but she has decreased health. Her damage is very good and the vamp effect is generous + you're playing a sunflower so you have the flower pot to heal in combat. The other is the shadow flower since she has a very high fire rate. Therefore my recommendations are:

-Stuffy sunflower
-Vampire flower
-Shadow flower
(shout out to pharaoh flower its also very good and underrated)

Chomper

Don't play chompers. However, I will admit that hot rod chomper is the best one and the most fun one. And count chompula.

Cactus

Cacti are your snipers. Sit back, plant potato mines, create cover and dish out high damage. Sounds like a limited playstyle... But what stops a devious gamer like you to embark in illegal cactus activity? I'm getting ahead of myself but if you wanna play aggressive cacti jade cactus, bandit cactus and petrified cactus are your ticket to success. If you wanna play the intended cactus playstyle, then play camo cactus and zen cactus. But there's one cactus above all. Good on every range and also fun to play. The future cactus. My final recommendations are:

-Future cactus
-Bandit cactus
-Zen cactus

Citron

Citrons are your tanks. High mobility and one of the best stunning tools in the game. But the thing is... Half the citrons are good and the other half are terrible. So my recommendations are regular and frozen citron. if you bought dlc and have party or iron citron, then I do recommend them both but iron citron is hard to use and takes a lot of skill so I won't recommend him. My final recommendations are:

-Regular Citron
-Frozen Citron

Kernel Corn

The best plant class. Your assault rifle aggressive dps class paired with the best abilities in the whole game (butter barrage is debatable). Regular Kernel Corn is the best one though hands down. If i made this guide 7 years ago, py pic would've been Barbecue corn but that's a story for another day. Recommendations though:

-Regular corn
-Commando corn (if you bought the dlc use him he's top 3 in the game)

Rose

Closing off, we have the "support" plants, Roses. No rose is bad. Their homing is completely braindead so using any rose will get you the same results. But if you're new and want a better default rose, Druid rose is for you. B U T... Nec rose is the best rose, shredding enemies with one charged attack, followed by attack spam. Recommendations are:

-Nec Rose
-Druid Rose

Soldier

Soldiers are your fully automatic offensive class, manning a fully automatic rifle, capable to do a lot of damage. All soldier classes are great but if you just started playing the game and got the ice trooper, then I would highly recommend him. But, if you want a strong soldier that does a lot of damage and is also a 0 IQ no skill character, then play the scuba soldier. Scuba is basically an RPG guy with 2 rounds that also has a micro radar scan in his splash damage that mark a character behind walls with a bright green color. Because this will basically turn into a soldierfest paragraph these are my recommendations:

- Ice trooper
- Scuba soldier
- Forest ranger
basically all the soldiers

Scientist

Now this... This is the most dirty, slimy and fun class in the game. Scientist is supposed to be a "support class" like sunflower. BUT. Scientist does so much damage up close and has the tools to engage in close quarters. It's so fun playing scientists and none of them are bad except the poor archaeologist. Best scientists for noobs are definitely Marine biologist, chemist, astronaut and zoologist. If you're somehow that lucky and have the computer scientist then I would definitely recommend him as well. If you also wanna know how to play scientist in his full potential, a guy called wiz has made a guide on how to play this class like a dirty little mouse. My recommendations are:

- Marine biologist
- Chemist
- Zoologist
- Astronaut

Engineer

Engineers are the very interesting. Their primaries all vary a lot and they can dish great amounts of damage. Engineer variations are probably the most unique and change the way your primary acts the most. But the engineer I would recommend the most is the mechanic just because he's a soldier with engineer abilities. Also good engineers are the welder and the landscaper. But again all the engineers are good. So my recommendations are:

- Mechanic
- Welder
- Landscaper

All-Star

All-Stars are very solid but also very boring. Genuinely don't have a lot to say about them but there are 3 of them that stand out from the rest:

- Hockey star
- Goalie star
- Golf star

Super Brainz

Super Brainz is your melee class in the game but unlike chomper is actually good. Not a lot of options in the super brainz roster but electro brainz is decent at least and breakfast brainz has a cool gimmick that unfortunatelly falls short. The best super brainz variants are toxic brainz and party brainz but they are legendary so a lot of new players will not have access to them from the get-go. My recommendations are:

- Electro brainz
- The legendary variations

Captain Deadbeard

Captains are cacti but better. That's it. One thing I'll say is that captain cannon is unreasonably broken and I love him.

Imp

Imps are interesting. The imps themselves are all different from each other enough but the mechs are completely unique. The best imp is definitely the z-7 imp but the best mech is the regular one in my opinion. But if you don't have the deluxe upgrade then i recommend the good ole lil drake imp. By far the most mainstream one of all the imps but for a good reason. My final recommendations are:

- Lil Drake Imp
- Pylon Imp
- Z-7 Imp

My thanks to the gw2 community to the support and all the awards, I wish the anti cheat update worked but unfortunately it kinda hindered the game experience but the game is still playable. I know some of my takes may be bad but I tried my best to help the new players with op variations so they can set a foot and enjoy the game and not lose grip on the first week. I appreciate the support and the comments and I hope to get to make a different guide but the game right now is less enjoyable to me. Thanks for everything
