Von Lila
I had written up a guide to getting mods up and running on Deck on Reddit, but decided to bring it here in case more people wanted to get them working on their Steam Deck

Let's get this working!!
First thing first, everything will be done in Desktop Mode. To get there, press the STEAM key, go down to "Power", and select "Switch to Desktop".

Open up your web browser and head on over to the BepInEx Github[github.com] and download the "BepInEx_x64_5.4.22.0.zip" file

Back to Steam
Back on Steam, navigate to My Time at Sandrock, and click on the gear icon on the right side. Manage > Browse Local Files

This is where you need to extract the zip file you just downloaded. Everything goes into the root folder (where the Sandrock.exe is located)

---If for whatever reason you need to manually find the folder:
Internal Storage: "/Home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/My Time at Sandrock/"
SD Card: "/run/media/mmcblk0p1/steamapps/common/My Time at Sandrock/"

Be absolutely sure you extract the the contents where the game's exe is. If "winhttp.dll" and "doorstop_config.ini" aren't in the same folder as "Sandrock.exe", it won't work.

Back on Steam, click the gear icon again, and select "Properties"

Under "General", scroll down till you see "Launch Options" and input:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%

Exit "Properties" and run the game once.
Finishing Steps
If everything is working, you should see some files generated under "BepInEx/config"
Once that is done, you're ready to head on over to the Nexus[www.nexusmods.com] and install some mods

Most mods go into "BepInEx/plugins" but please read the mod descriptions for their install instructions. Most mod authors will have instructions on how to install their mods in their descriptions or on a sticky post in the comments.
Extra Tips
DevConsole: You will need to bind F1 to one of your keys (I use a back button) if you plan on playing with the deck's controls to use the mod.

Your Time at Sandrock: Similar situation with F4, but you can also get to the mod menu from the "Escape Menu" in game.

Happy Gaming!!

@Blazbo Babbins This also goes for anyone that had a similar issue with Atlyss on Steam Deck. For me, the fix was installing the previous stable version/the one mentioned in this guide (5.4.22.0). Everything else in this guide is fine.

Thank you for making this guide, Lila.

Depending on the game, you may have to use BepInEx_x86. If launching the game does not automatically create the "BepInEx/config", that means you need to use the other BepInEx.

For example Dredge needed to use BepInEx_x86 to work

I'm using Steamdeck OLED

@Lila Thanks for the reply! Just in case anyone else finds this, I found a fix:

If you're running on Steam Deck (OG at least) you need to make an adjustment to the libraries. Follow the steps listed in this post, but then follow the steps in this link [docs.bepinex.dev] (in desktop mode, download protontricks from discovery and follow steps).

@missfeelo All I can say is try the other version of BepInEx if you're using and OLED. I only have the original Deck, so I can't test it out

Older post but I'm having trouble with this, it works on my PC but not on steam deck. Anyone else have this issue?

It seems an issue with bepinex as it won't create the config folder. I've added WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command% to launch and am using the BepInEx_x64_5.4.22.0.zip version (but have tried all available). Any ideas?

This was super helpful! Thank you for writing it up.

If you don't mind some feedback, please read on. I stumbled a bunch with the steps of being on the steam desktop and then where you gave the heading "Back to Steam". I flip-flopped a lot about what you meant, so I tried opening steam in the web browser, switching back to the steam deck, and finally I saw the button to launch the steam app on the desktop side. I think it would help to mention the thumbnail on the desktop to launch the Steam app while in the desktop mode.

I wonder if the x64 file for BEPinEX is the wrong one for a steamdeck OLED. Since adding that file, my game window has been resized to nearly square. I'm going to try removing it for now and maybe downloading a different version.

Thank you again for this!
