Andromeda Magog Species Portraits

The Magog are a malevolent species, feared throughout the known galaxies. They are a fur-covered race who's constantly search for food and reproductive hosts has fueled their constant raids on former Old Commonwealth territories. They have long sharp claws for tearing into armor and flesh, razor sharp teeth for ripping chunks out of their victims and can spit and solidify their venom to immobilize their prey. The Magog consume anything edible whether it be plants and animals to sentient species to even their own kind. Magog "society" follows a strict hierarchal structure, where the commanders wear armor and get first feeding rights on kills. Certain Magog under commanders are allowed weapons, usually high powered gauss guns. The rest of the Magog do not wear armor or wield weaponry and have to rely on their claws and teeth to attack. The Magog have no discernable gender and rely on parasitization of a sentient host species in order to reproduce. They implant their eggs in a captured host and watch over it until the young Magog burst from their host, eating them from the inside out.

It is unknown where the Magog truly came from, the point of origin of the World Ship they call home, a massive ship comprised of several worlds connected together surrounding a star, is full of death worlds and black holes. Yet when they arrive in Old Commonwealth space, they made their presence known by invading several highly populated worlds on the outer edge of Commonwealth territory. A brutal war soon followed and the Commonwealth barely held out against the Magog onslaught. Afterwards the Commonwealth signed the Treaty of Antares, giving them free reign in their captured territories and while giving them some Nietzschean held worlds, fueling the growing animosity between them and Commonwealth leadership. When the 1st Commonwealth Civil War began, the Magog under orders from their master, the Spirit of the Abyss cross into old Commonwealth space and wreck havoc on most planets ushering in the Long Night. 300 years later the Magog are still feared across the New Commonwealth as another invasion from them is likely.

And with that, I'm finished with my Andromeda portrait species pack! Its my Christmas gift to you all. I highly recommend using Avatar's great High Guard Shipset for those seeking to rebuild the Commonwealth.
