The definitive way to play Spark The Electric Jester

We all know that Spark The Electric Jester is a bit rough at the moment which won't get supported by the developer. However there is a fix for that via the installation of Spark The Electric Jester: Recharged. A mod that fixes performance related issues, bugs and adds new features to the game.

• Float's Story Alpha Demo (Custom Game Mode that is accessible in the Mods Menu. You can still play Spark Story and Fark Story in the Main Game Menu.)
  
• Toggleable Fall Damage (Based on Spark The Electric Jester 3 Fall Damage Mechanic)
  
• Discord Rich Presence
  
• V-Sync support (Should fix the weird frameskipping that the original game had)
  
• Doesn't really count as a feature but a ton of bugs are fixed in this mod

And more will be added through out the development of Spark The Electric Jester: Recharged.

Installation:

Step 0: Download DeltaPatcher[github.com] and Spark The Electric Jester: Recharged mod[sparklegem.itch.io]
Step 1: Create a folder in your desktop and extract DeltaPatcher and all of the content of the mod in there.
Step 2: Copy your original SparkTEJ executable where DeltaPatcher and the mod is.
Step 2: Run DeltaPatcher and select your copy of the SparkTEJ executable.
Step 3: Select in XDelta patch: "SparkTEJ Recharged.xdelta"
Step 4: Apply Patch.
Step 5: Rename the executable you choosed to modify to "Spark The Electric Jester Recharged.exe"
Step 6: You are done!

Extra Info:
If your controller doesn't get recognized then add the mod as a non-steam game on Steam and it should fix the issue. Remember to launch the mod through Steam.
If you can't pause the game then you haven't copied the new pause file from the mod zip.

Works like a charm! The only negative is that achievements don't work with it but aside from that, I played through the campaign on hard mode plus the new Float story, and all the additions and enhancements are greatly appreciated.

Hello. I've tried to download your mod but for some reason no matter what I do it's not working. Not the game, not the mod it's just that i can't install the mod despite following the instructions. Am I doing something wrong?

This has happened due to a few changes to the scenes structure while I was working on Recharged and I plan to make a tool that updates the old saves to the new scenes structure but for now the best experience is to start with a new file save or using the file save I included.

I have a question or maybe it’s more of a statement or something. I installed your mod on steam deck but when I loaded my save from the vanilla version it sent me some place really dark and red. I guess it was the final boss or something but I wasn’t sure. I kept my last used ability but I was just randomly there. When I restore the vanilla version it put me back where I left off. I was kinda thinking that if I use your mod again I should start the save data all over again.

It's due to a discord hijacking into the game executable which when you pause the game it will move the stream to the pause menu but if you close the pause menu then the stream and game would stop.

The reason is because the pause menu essentially acts like a separate application that pauses the main game. At the moment there are no fixes and I would blame that on Discord so if you want to stream the game then please stream the entire desktop.

This doesn't seem to fix the game crashing when you pause while streaming, so that's a shame.
