THIS GUIDE DOESN'T SUPPORT MELEE'S SUB-CLASSES LIKE: YO-YO OR TRUE MELEE

This guide will only talk about what gear must you have during what point of the game.

FIRST BOSSES (EYE OF CHUTULHU, EATER OF WORLDS, BRAIN OF CHUTULHU)

-You can use mixed metal armor if you can't find much Platinum/Gold

Exceptional! There are a few accessories I would change, but that change only applies to me since I play the game just a tad different than others, so I would not recommend changing anything on this guide.

(Ex.: On Expert, my final equipment for Moonlord was:

Weapons: Flying Dragon and the alternative Betsy's melee drop

Armor: Beetle Armor

Accessories: Fire Gauntlet, Betsy's Wings, Princess Insignia, Worm Scarf, Ankh Shield, Frozen Shield.

This equipment was design mostly for max flying movement and defense, since it was my first time playing Expert. My job was hybrid, so I ended up mostly using melee with a tid-bit of magic and summons. For the most part, though, most of my playthrough was melee based.)

Chain Guillotines is a really good weapon pre-mechanical. 80 damage base and can reach 2/3rds of your screen. To compare Bananarang has 61 base and the Flying Knife has 54 base damage.

BTW, I would have beaten the Destroyer in Expert Mode with a simple strategy which doesn't require much if I didn't lose due to running out time due to a late start and getting reckless. I will share it here for the benefit of all. I found out that with a Featherfall potion, you can increase or decrease your slow fall with W and S. If you have multiple platforms and/or ropes, you can go between them with the Featherfall potion and attack from above while dodging most of the lasers with minimal effort. (The Bananarang worked well, but I was worried about running out of time and attacked at close range on the ground and ended up getting cornered.) I hope this helps people!
