Accurate Minecraft HUD [v1.0]

Deskripsi
FEATURES

  • Extremely customizable, the basics such as changing the position on-screen to more in-depth stuff like the padding of the sprites in case the default padding doesn't fit your custom textures
  • Modern air bar when you're underwater (only works with "Enable HEV Suit functionality" enabled, if you know an addon about oxygen that gives support to other addons let me know)
  • Custom textures, by default only the normal and hardcore textures are included, however, you can very easily add (or port) textures for the hearts, armor and air bars! (Quick guide below)
  • "Accurate", I tried to stay close to vanilla behavior down to details, flashing when you get damaged, shaking when low

CUSTOM TEXTURES
You can very easily add (or port from a resource pack) textures to use instead of the default ones included.

You're gonna need a program to edit and export images. if you're taking textures from a resource-pack they will be split into multiple images, the addon requires them to be in a single formatted image you can't blame me, it's a pain to work with a lot of textures

1. FORMATTING THE TEXTURES
I don't have a way to post images here in the description, and posting them to a third-party site could get them deleted after sometime so you'll need to extract this addon and see the textures yourself, if you're doing this you probably know how to do it. You can use gmpublisher [github.com]

The are 3 textures you'll have to create or put together.

  • hearts.png
  • armor.png
  • air.png

They all have the same format, 6 sprites wide and 4 sprites tall (air.png has an extra texture that's used when an air bubble pops)

2. CREATING THE ADDON
The only thing you have to do is putting them in a folder at the materials path, the folder name will be used in-game.

You can create and test an addon by creating a folder in your Garry's Mod installation, in it's "addons" folder: GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons

These are the paths of what your addon should have inside, folders and png files at the last folder:

  • my_custom_addon/materials/minecraft/hud/my_custom_textures/hearts.png
  • my_custom_addon/materials/minecraft/hud/my_custom_textures/armor.png
  • my_custom_addon/materials/minecraft/hud/my_custom_textures/air.png

3. TESTING THE TEXTURES IN-GAME
In-game when you load into a map the addon will search for custom textures, but you can manually do a search using the console command: cl_minecrafthud_search_custom_textures

A new tab with the name of the folder should appear in the "HUD Texture" dropdown list in settings

CUSTOM TEXTURE EXAMPLE
In case you didn't understand the guide, here's an addon that adds textures from Dokucraft Dark [dokucraft.co.uk], you can extract it to see how it's structured

There's probably an addon that does that coded by someone much much better than me

OR, you could add a hotbar slot ontop for that weapon, and make the one you are currently using yellow-ish
caar.. 26 Feb @ 12:33pm
um... maybe swap the icon to be what weapon in that slot you are currently using?

In Gmod weapons can share the same slot, so how would it even look like?

i think it'd be cool if you added the hotbar thing (and make it toggleable for people who don't want it)

I'm adding a lot of customization and doing a lot of fixes too

@BarpleBapkins I added that in the version I'm still developing!

Small suggestions:
Extra hearts for HP over 100 that stack in rows of 10 (kinda like how health boost/ absorption gives you extra hearts in the same form factor) and extra armor plates for armor over 100, just so you can actually keep track of how much HP/ armor you have if you have over 100 HP.

another small suggestion would to be able to scale the size and change the location of the HUD, some small details that'd be cool.

Pretty cool little HUD though! I really enjoy using it, the details are very much appreciated :]
