The Best Keyboard and Mouse Control Configuration

This game is optimized for Xbox controllers. Unfortunately, if you dont have an Xbox controller, you are stuck with the default layout of the keys, which is absoulute crap. This guide will help you use the controls for Castle Crashers most effectivly and most efficiently.

Movement

By default, the movment keys are the arrow keys. However, in every other game ever, you use WASD for movment. Naturally, it makes the most sense to use it here. Not only will you be able to use your left hand for movment which most PC users are used to at this point, but it also makes it easy for you to access other nearby controls, like the jump key, and use your right hand for your mouse.

Move Left- S
Move Right- D
Move Up- W
Move Down- S
Jump- Space

Combat

Since you already have your left hand devoted to WASD, you are going to want to use your right hand for combat. It makes most sense to use your mouse for this, as this is what you you should be used to for other games.

Heavy Attack- Left Click
Light attack- Right Click
Magic- Shift
The "Use" Key- E
Item select (left)- Z
(Item select (right)/b]- C

There is a typo. `Move Left- S` is the same as `Move Down- S`

Yeah you're right should be "a" for left. The screenshot is still accurate though.

hey i think you made a mistake in movement. in movement, it says that both left and down is controlled by the s key. how is that supposed to work?

i do WASD and shift for magic, midclick for use item, lclick for light attack, rclick for heavy attack, space for jump, and i have a mouse with 6 buttons so i use a side one for block
