This guide spots all hero quest locations

Introduction

This guide details all 9 available hero quest areas, specifying which character is unlocked, and where the quest collectibles are located.

Important

• All Hero Quests can be accessed through the gold bar or gem route, except Zimbo quest at level 2-4: Doll Hollow. This quest is located in a gem path.
  
• You have to visit each NPC twice. First to make the quest objects appear in three certain levels and second to unlock a character as a reward, once you have collected the quest objects.

Achievements

There are two achievements related to Hero Quests and a hidden achievement for The Narrator character:

• Who Dat!? - Unlock your first character by completing a Hero Quest.
  
• A Full Roster - Unlock all 9 characters.
  
• Did You See That!? - See Charles Martinet's face mutation 13 times. You can get this easy waiting in a shop menu. The mutation appears randomly when playing or being idle in a menu.

Foodland

The 3 hero quest levels are located in the following levels:

• 1-2: A Briny Solicitation - unlocks Unkle Dill
  
• 1-6: Run a Fowl - unlocks Awnty Rewty
  
• 1-8: Fishing for Condiments - unlocks Dave Lonuts

1-2: A Briny Solicitation | Sir Strömming quest

Location

After finishing the second plane section, there will be a second path to the left:

You need to collect 3 salmonberries in the following levels:

• 1-1: The Milky Way
  
• 1-6: Run a Fowl
  
• 1-8: Fishing for Condiments

1-6: Run a Fowl | Da Noodle Man quest

Location

At the start of the level there are two zones where the ground breaks. Drop in the second one to enter a hidden cave:

You need to collect 3 curry bowls in the following levels:

• 1-3: The Meaty Treaty
  
• 1-5: For Cheddar or Wurst
  
• 1-9: Just Desserts

1-8: Fishing For Condiments | Karen Von Brunch quest

Location

When leaving the fridge zone (past the checkpoint) you will see a split. Switch to the left path:

You need to collect 3 shrimps in the following levels:

• 1-2: A Briny Solicitation
  
• 1-4: Pasta La Vista
  
• 1-7: A Cheesy Breeze

Spookyland

The 3 hero quest levels are located in the following levels:

• 2-1: Hazelmens? - unlocks The Narrator (Charles Martinet)
  
• 2-4: Doll Hollow - unlocks Frank N' Stein
  
• 2-9: The Vestibule of Justice - unlocks Eddie Riggs

2-1: Hazelmens? | Hazelmens quest

Location

Short after the checkpoint, turn to the right splitted path:

You need to collect 3 stargazy pies in the following levels:

• 2-2: The Forthy Pit
  
• 2-4: Doll Hollow
  
• 2-9: The Vestibule of Justice

2-4: Doll Hollow | Zimbo quest

Location

You need the GEM route unlocked to access this area.
Past the checkpoint, turn left to the gem path:

Quest items

You need to collect 3 dolls in the following levels:

• 2-3: The Forthy Pit
  
• 2-6: The Wording Way
  
• 2-8: Parallel Peril

2-9: The Vestibule of Justice | Limericking Lamprey quest

Location

When you enter the court area (past the checkpoint) there will be a third path in the middle. Switch to the middle path and you will jump to the quest zone:

You need to collect 3 words in the following levels:

• 2-1: Hazelmens?
  
• 2-5: Fraulein Hamberblats
  
• 2-7: Bound by Law

Machineland

The 3 hero quest levels are located in the following levels:

• 3-3: Earth Lurched - unlocks Sadbot
  
• 3-5: Girdle Springs Eternal - unlocks The Defector
  
• 3-8: Piston Soup - unlocks Shovel Knight

3-3: Earth Lurched | Radbot quest

Location

Close to the end part of the level there are some wall jumper plates. After that you need to use the next jump plate:

• 3-5: Girdle Springs Eternal
  
• 3-7: Elevator Swellevator

3-5: Girdle Springs Eternal | Jr. Melchin quest

Location

Before reaching the checkpoint, in the second dead end path where you have to switch to the left, there will be an additional path on the left-hand side:

You need to collect 3 password lizards in the following levels:

• 3-1: Wreck the Halls
  
• 3-4: Cart Issues
  
• 3-8: Piston Soup

3-8: Piston Soup | Gladbot quest

Location

After defeating the robot knight (past the checkpoint) don't use the jump plate to access the quest area:

You need to collect 3 flea jars in the following levels:

• 3-3: Earth Lurched
  
• 3-6: Maniacal Mechanical
