GUIDE FOR STARTERS

This is an actual guide that doesn't tell you stupid things.
Sorry if my english is bad.

TERRARIA

Terraria is a video game thats in a magical world and it is Sandbox RPG. Terraria is the first and only RPG game I played and I loved it and I think you can too. It's hard to learn and may seem boring but once you learned the game it will be GREAT. Trust me.

But before we start we must set your world!

CREATING YOUR CHARACTER AND THE WORLD

We must create the character first. You can change your character's look freely but there is character types: Journey Characters are creative mode character, Mediumcores will drop all items in their inventory when they die, Hardcore characters got only 1 life and the Classic mode characters will only drop coins (money) when they die.
Most recommended one is the Classic characters because no one will like every item burning in lava and you have to grind 214 hours more because it is a RPG


Now let's create your world! Make a medium world with a random seed, Random evil or Corruption (People Recommend Corruption to the starters but Idk why) and in classic difficulty but You can set it to Expert for more loot but it will be 2X harder than the Classic mode, so I only recommend expert after your first classic world.

DAY 1

Collect a Ton of wood but plant the trees back if you care about the deforestation. Also see that orange haired guy? Thats the guide you can use it or use the Official Wiki when you get stuck. Then make a house with Wood, Wood Walls, (Background Walls) and basic crafting stations like: Work Bench, Furnace, anvil and Loom.

Then make at least 8 blocks wide and 6 tall housing with Background walls, a chair, a table and a light source for NPCs to move in ,most NPCs will be helpful while you progress and all NPCs also needs another special requirements to move in. For example: Cyborg NPC needs Plantera boss defeated and Merchant NPC needs at least about 1 gold of money in your inventory to move in.

After that: Make a room for chests. Be sure to keep them organised because terraria has A LOT OF ITEMS.

NIGHT TIME

During the night much more harder mobs will spawn and it is not recommended to explore the surface. So dig a 2 blocks wide hole straight down below your house and stop when it becomes day again. You must dig this hole until you reach the bottom of your world.

DAY 2

Go back to the surface and explore, Loot chests and break pots, kill some slimes for gel and cash but avoid the Jungle (light green biome), Corruption (Purple Biome) and Crimson (Red biome) for now. Also find a desert and craft a full set of Cactus armor.

It is recommended to go below your Corruption or Crimson biomes when you get some bombs and some good gear and bomb your way to a shadow orb or crimson heart then break it with a bomb or hammer. This will give you a random weapon (it will give you A GUN always when you break the first one) but doing this 3 times will spawn a boss. What boss will spawn changes deppending on your world evil.

NIGHT TIME 2

Kill some demon eyes flying around to get some lens and cash after that keep expending your hole. Remember to make more NPC housing as you progress.

BOSSES

For the first bosses I recommend at least 200 HP (You can get more Max HP by consuming life crystals found in the underground) 2-3 long lines of platforms thats about 20 blocks away form each another and campfires / heart lanterns for extra HP regen and nurse NPC for instant healing when you get low but costs your money.



Also: 400 HP and more/longer platfroms for further bosses and 500-450 HP form Plantera to
endgame

In my opinion Durability is more important than Damage so I recommend focusing on dodging more than focusing on damaging

OTHER TIPS

TIP 1:

Make a Coward Pyramid ASAP when you have reach to lava to cheese INVASIONS if you don't understand this tactic you just hide like a coward under your coward pyramid and let the mobs kill them selfs while trying to get you

(Break the blocks above the lava if you dont have the mechanic NPC, I made a system where I can open and close the pyramid's top with wires.)

TIP 2

There is 4 classes in the game and I recommend you to choose one at least when you beat the wall of flesh boss.

Classes:

MELEE: Great damage, Best Defence but short range, average attack speed, doesn't need anything special. Best class when you beat the Plantera Boss
RANGER: Avarage damage, lower defence than MELEE, Great Range, Fast attack speed, Needs Ammo. Best Class for Pre-Hardmode (Before Wall of flesh boss).
MAGE: Good Damage, lower defence than RANGER, good range, avarage attack speed, Needs Mana. Good for most of the game.
SUMMONER: Slavery... High damage, Lowest defence, avarage range, Good attack speed, Needs Minions/Sentries. Can afk farm and lets you focus more on dodging.

TIP 3

Feel free to cheat in items when RNGods hates you.
To do it you can download all items worlds form the steam workshop.

TIP 4

I'm telling you again but it is STRONGLY recommended to use the OFFICIAL WIKI

TIP 5

Infection Spread will be a huge problem after the Wall Of Flesh boss so I recommend reading this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2951958917

TIP 6

Shimmer liquid lets you change or un-craft most items. It is found at the jungle side of your world and often below the ocean.

TIP 7

Pylons allows you to teleport. You can buy it when a NPC is happy enough, they will sell a pylon type deppending on the biome they are in and pylons need to be near 2 NPCs and at the right biome for them to work. You need to be near another pylon to teleport other pylons.
NPC Happiness is complex and I recommend checking the wiki for it.
