Welcome to the Optimization Guide to increase FPS on ASA!
If you're looking to enhance your game's performance while maintaining a visually pleasing experience, you're in the right place. This guide offers some simple yet effective commands to boost your FPS.

1. r.VolumetricCloud 0 : Disable volumetric clouds to increase performance while still maintaining excellent visual quality
2. r.Fog 0 : Turn off fog to improve performance without sacrificing the overall aesthetic of the game
3. grass.sizeScale 0.8 : Adjust grass size to optimize performance without significantly altering the appearance
4. grass.densityScale 1 : Modify grass density for an optimal balance between performance and realism

How to use these different commands:
1. Open the in-game console by pressing the appropriate key (usually '~' or '²').
2. Enter the commands one by one and press Enter.

Update, you can also use only one command with all the modification in it by using "|" between the commands. Personnaly I use :

stat fps | r.VolumetricCloud 0 | r.VolumetricFog 0 | grass.sizeScale 0.8 | grass.densityScale 1

Yes you need to put it every time, but you can use all command in one as seen in the guide.

Do I need to do the commands every time I open the game?

I much rather lower resolution then disable volumetric. Volumetrics and shadows is what makes LUMEN good. Without it there is not much point in having LUMEN at all and you could just disable that instead for massive FPS increase.

If you're having trouble getting past the character creation screen (it freezes there) try this, it worked for me: in the graphics settings set the resolution to very small (1024 or less) and set the fps limit to 5 - this will make it so that you can (in an ugly and slow screen) take your time to create your character without freezing - as soon as you're done and in-game, hit ESC and go back to your preferred resolution and fps limit.
