Walkthrough of the Portal Puzzle in Sanctum Magistratum (E1M8)

In my opinion, this section of the level Sanctum Magistratum (E1M8) is very confusing and honestly a little anti-fun. It is the only area like this in the game and it really slows down the gameplay. Because of this I have created a very simple 2 minute guide that you can watch on YouTube to help you through this area as fast as possible.

Also, I know people don't like YouTube guides uploaded to Steam, so I have also included written instructions below as well if you prefer that. I hope this helps and is clear enough. Please let me know in the comments if my written instructions were not clear enough and how you suggest I improve them.

Written Instructions

Remember to purge enemies during this section! (That should be a given, so I am not including that in my instructions.)

• Step one: Enter portal area.
  
• Step two: Jump gap and take first right.
  
• Step three: Jump gap and enter portal #1.
  
• Step four: Run forward and enter portal #2 straight ahead.
  
• Step five: Run forward and enter portal #3 straight ahead.
  
• Step six: Jump gap and run forward. DO NOT ENTER PORTAL.
  
• Step seven: Look to the left off the bridge and jump down below.
  
• Step eight: Drop off ledge into sideways portal #4.
  
• Step nine: Run straight. Jump two gaps. You will be at doorway to next section.
  COMPLETE!
