How to Survive Torture Easily & Codec Skipping
By staticsnake
How to easily handle the torture scene in all difficulties, and can make Codec call skipping lazier (not faster). Also makes punching and kicking lazier too. Works on Steam Deck as well.

Overview
Torture
This should help out with the torture scene when getting captured after the first fight with Sniper Wolf. It doesn’t generally interrupt any other gameplay, though it'll make Snake punch, punch, kick more lazily if you want while holding it. During the torture scenes (depending how many you go for), you can just hold the button or tap it fast and it’ll work.

Codec
Also, whenever Codec calls are coming up, just press X (or A button) once to break the voice acting, then begin holding Circle (or B button) and it’ll skip everything for you. It’s not as fast as I’d like in this game, but it’ll do if you wanna be lazy about it.
Instructions
Step 1
Go into the Controller Settings. You can either do this before starting the game (first screenshot), or while in-game, press the Steam/PS button to pull up Steam Big Picture Overlay (second screenshot).

Step 2
Then enter the Edit Layout:

Step 3
Buttons section, and the gear icon for circle or B button:

Step 4
Settings:

Step 5
Set the “Hold to Repeat (Turbo)” to on, and set “Repeat Rate” to 10:

Back out, you’re good to go. Hold or mash the button during torture, and also hit X first (or A button) to break voice acting in Codec calls, and then hold this circle (or B) button it'll skip the dialogue with ease. It's not as fast as mashing the button yourself, but nice if you wanna be lazy. This will also make Snakes punch, punch, kick combo more automatic by holding it.

If you don't want this on throughout other parts of the game, simply toggle the “Hold to Repeat (Turbo)” back off and on as needed.

This worked for me by simply holding the button during all of torture. It works the same on Steam Deck as well.
