CnC Tiberium Wars - CrashFix Win11/Win10/WinXP in LAN (2023)
By Chris-T
The solution to crashing is going to overall graphic settings and switching to medium, medium textures and medium animations.

Tested successfully on multiple configurations Win10/11/Xp, i7Gen12, i9Gen9, i7Gen3, XeonGen3, Core2Quad, Core2Duo, PentiumD, both dedicated and integrated (the game crashed with insuficient memory in the past, I have 64GB on a couple of systems)

The issue is with allocating memory above 4GB RAM, the more you have the worse it gets.

P.S. Tested on NUC12 Intel IrisXe again successfully, Quadro P600, GTX1050, GTX1060 6GB, GTX970, RTX2060, RTX 3060Ti, Intel HD4000, Intel HD6000, GTS450, GT430, ATI Radeon Xpress3100 and lastly Intel GMA4500

Launch Options (from Steam-> Properties of the game)
Insert this command line in the field (chose your own monitor resolution):

-xres 2560 -yres 1080

Make sure you don't change any setting in the game itself as it will override the setting from the
Launch Options.
If you do, close the game and re-launch it.
The game will launch normally with 800x600 which gets modified by adding this line as an argument.

Multiplayer with friends Co-OP or Adversary
You can play LAN (online with your friends) via Hamachi (LogMeIn) to which you can register and install a client (basically a VPN Peer-to-Peer) with a maximum of 5 players for the free version

Select from the Main Menu : MULTIPLAYER -> NETWORK (NOT ONLINE)

Host a server or Join one and that's it.

P.S. [LogMeIn Hamachi Virtual Ethernet Adapter] has to be listed among your Network Adapters
and it is going to work as long as you right-click your friends, from the little client window (if they
are listed in red, after confirming with them their identity)

well, in this specific case there is CNC Online, which basically restored the online functionality for the Command and Conquer games. It used revora. For Open Source VLAN/VPNs, there's not many I'm afraid. There's never been much interest and what we're left with are 3 or 4 programs, zerotier is probably the best of them since it doesn't really spy on you. While Radmin and Hamachi are just memes at this point.

Point taken @midorikitz. Any specific recommendations ? (open source)

Please don't use Hamachi. Or Radmin. I'd rather get whatever open source clone of Tunngle than those spywares disguised as programs.
