Ultrawide Fix

This fix disables the black borders in ultrawide resolutions.

Quick setup

Hello ultrawide enjoyers! ^ ^

Steps:
1. First we need BepInEx! Download your version here.. we need #674. https://builds.bepinex.dev/projects/bepinex_be
(If you're using Windows: BepInEx-Unity.IL2CPP-win-x64-6.0.0-be.674+82077ec.zip
BepInEx Unity (IL2CPP) for Windows (x64) games)

3. Now we will open the game's main directory and unzip both into it
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R

4. After extracting both files we need to attempt running the game once to create files

5. Once the game has generated the files we need, we will be editing BepInEx.cfg and changing one line to false.
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R\BepInEx\config

6. Now you can enjoy the ultrawide experience!
(You may want to go into SecondStoryRFix.cfg and set the window mode section to WindowMode = 2 for borderless window)

I believe the default ultrawide resolution is set automatically to your display but if it isn't, you can edit the desired resolution in SecondStoryRFix.cfg





Note: I have included 2 versions of the generated files (for Windows x64) in a zip at this link if for some reason it doesn't generate for you, please try this. ( Unzip into the Main folder as before )

I made a small change to ensure vsync is turned off when using the mod. Previously it was resetting it to on, causing cheat engine speed hack to not work

This is intended to replace entirely the original fix mod, so delete the older one.

Solved my own issue - in case anyone should run into the same problem of having their controller (and overlay as well, as I discovered) disabled when using this tool, set the value for Logging.Console to false in BepInEx.cfg (located in \BepInEx\config ) and you should be good to go!

Got this to work, but does anyone else's controller stop working when using this mod (in my case, using an Xbox One controller isn't working anymore)?

Works for me too. Used the wrong bepinex at first. Had to download the IL2CPP version and it worked flawlessly.

This still worked for me in 2024, but I had to try a few different versions of BepInEx. Thanks OP 3440 x 1440 21:9. Game looks great
