Free Keys, Controller and 1.6.7 [DEV 16]

Lots of work been done to ensure this update will be the biggest update in months! [That is, if you do not consider the Steam Achievements updates] I have been adding some features to the tunnels, connecting them around with some trapdoors that I'll probably add randomly around the map. What about bunkers? randomly spawning bunkers? Oh well... They'll probably be a thing in the lastest 1.6.7:
after you leave the tunnels into this big forest area, there may be randomly spawned bunkers filled with some items.. probably some other craftables if I feel like adding these will be a good idea

Apart from that and some extra bug fixing, I'll be looking into the mining algorithms to make them harder and more useful and there will probably be some balancing in all items' prices in-game.. as you know, it is simply tooo easy to finish Mark's tasks. I am also looking into a bug where lindsay will restart the walking animation if you enter the trapdoor before she goes inside - I don't want to do a lazy fix and keep the player still, though.

Steam Controller
Yes! This.. this.. beauty is SOOOO awesome! I can't even believe I received one!
I have been allowed to share pics of it and been told it is not confidential, so... if you are into it, you may want to see these:

It came into a pretty - but simplistic - blue box with the steam logo on it.

Now.. enough chit-chat.
I have been trying to implement the controller in-game but it simply ignores any controller configuration. Going as far as the character walking upwards when pressing the "Y" button, which is, of course, weird. I am looking into it, and it probably won't be difficult to do a workaround.

Yes.. Yes.. I know our website is down! There was a problem with the database it was hosted on.. and I haven't been able to re-open it yet due to some internal problems host-wise.

Free Keys

One of them might give you beta-testing access to it. Keep in mind that the Steam version of it isn't commercial, though.

Merry Christmas,

1.6.6 and Mechanics [DEV 15]
  • Beta 1.6.1
  • Beta 1.6.2
  • Beta 1.6.3
  • Beta 1.6.4
  • Beta 1.6.5
  • Beta 1.6.5-a
  • Beta 1.6.6
All of them contain fixes to game breaking and general bugs or they add stuff like random crates, mechanics such as lamp options, steam achievements or they tweak the night that now looks more like.. a night, better mining and fixing a few dialogues that did not work as expected.. or sound as expected.

1.6.6 Update Notes as of 28th November
  • Added Vlue's Keybinding Script (Consider this a way to credit you before a full update!)
  • Random Loot System added! Crates added around the map with random items!
  • Breaking the tree to open up space does not break the game.
  • Leaving the room inside the Feldwebel home does not break the game.
  • Mark dialogues fixed. Added more items to his catalogue. Fixed weird graphics. Added lights to his shop.
  • Hotfix for strange snowman behavior
  • You can now tune the intensity of the lamp by pressing Number 2 and Number 3
  • Soundtrack tuned down to not ruin atmosphere that much! Consider this a postmortem apologise to your ears.
  • Removed the journal tutorial popup on game start
  • Added more trees you can chop in the initial area and fixed typos on wood processing.

Beta 1.6.7!
As soon as I released the Beta 1.6.6, I went on to RPG Maker and started my quest to find bugs or anything I could improve for Beta 1.6.7: I ended up improving the Random Loot System (which isn't that great in the 1.6.6) and adding tunnels. Tunnels are available after you power them up through a certain quest from the shopkeeper (which I am not going to tell you!) and are key to the story in 1.6.7 and they are greatly decorated with computers (real-looking computers), energy cables, pressure pipes and other machinery. They are REALLY awesome! They will be used to connect basements around, and to let you get inside that town which road is not acessible (no spoilers, here, mate!) and get quickly around the place. You'll also be able to get into your cabin to bake and smelt ore easier, without having to walk all the way there. Simply take the tunnels!

Tunnel sneakpeek

I don't want to spoil the new content, so I'll refrain from saying much more about the 1.6.7, but rest assured: It is great, and almost bug-free!

Ohhh.. and before I forget, this is how the Random Treasure System works:
Every time you open a crate, you'll get a pre-set item, and another randomized item such as bread, oil, wheat fluor and even money.. or perhaps nothing. Simple as that.. Basicly the mining algorithm..

That's all for now.

Release date: 2017
You play as one of the survivors of an overseas accident, after a successful escape with a lifeboat, you find yourself stranded in an unknown, snowy island. After much walking, you and Lindsay, Lucas' girlfriend, find a single cabin, where you decide to shelter yourself for the time being. While it provides a cozy shelter, you must find help. Explore the island and it's structures in this short 2D wallking-simulator-like game, and experience the struggle of the couple as they do what they can to catch the attention of the searching rescue teams.

I'll be adding -- later today or tomorrow -- a .zip including OST, wallpapers and concept art to all those who own the game on Groupees. It will be available in the same download file. While it's not much, it's a token of my gratitude for those who waited and motivated me to keep going.

One of the prerequisites to sell on the Steam Store is to have a bank account that supports SWIFT/IBAN, that is, international bankwire. I no longer own the bank account I had back then (which supported international bankwire) and my current bank account does not support it. I will try to have a publisher put it on the Store for me or check with Valve if it's possible to have it downloadable to key owners.

Thank you :chirp:

Hey there!

Well, it's been a long journey so far and I'm glad to say a Release Candidate build is now available! I wouldn't have been able to do it without your help, so thank you! A big thanks to all who participated, shared feedback, pointed out flaws and motivated me to keep going.

Even though I have been tremendously busy with college entry exams and school in general since October, I managed to spend more time improving the game based on my own playtesting experience and the suggestions of playtesters. Although I still need to touch textures, re-do a few dialogues and fix a typo here and there, I believe it is in a state decent enough to be uploaded to Groupees.

That means bugs, typos and grammar errors might appear during your playthrough, but please, report them here and I'll have it done with. A lot of effort was put into fixing bugs but, as English is not my native language, there could be grammar issues, weird dialogues and typos.

Hey there!

Haven't posted anything since my last message as I wanted to show objective, visible results, but it has taken longer than expected, as shortly after my message, I had the game playtested to make sure it was ok and noticed so many things to improve upon, add and tweak! Have been working on that on my limited free time and had great progress!

For comparison, the build available for download contains 27 maps, of which about 9 were removed from the future update, which contains 59 maps! Even though there are many maps exclusively to make transitions between areas smoother, it's a tremendous upgrade in content!

In fact, I have just finished an update that I hope to be the 'definitive' update! I'll have it playtested to make sure I didn't forget to add or fix anything. If all is ok, I'll upload the latest build to groupees (+ some extras!) to Groupees and see what's missing to have it on Steam!

My apologies regarding the silence this submission has been on. I have resumed working on the game in early July and managed to finish it in a way I feel comfortable with. There were some different design decisions, but shouldn't be an issue. Still need to playtest the game with some friends to make sure i didn't miss anything, after that, the final build will be uploaded to Groupees. I will have an announcement here with more detail, soon.

Yeah, noticed this was removed from my library as well.

Bet all of those people from Groupees that community voted for this to be given money are fucking kicking themselves. Thank god you didn't manage to scam the second community development award.

Dunno how you can show your face round Groupees actually. Bundle curator / dev...really? LUL :steamfacepalm:
