Some cautionary advice:
This will save you the trouble of potentially breaking your game and endlessly haranguing your favorite 100pag mods with questions already answered in this guide.
  • The condition descriptions for many achievements are not correct.
  • Many of the achievements no longer function as originally intended.
  • Some achievements require a specific order or will not unlock properly.
  • Some achievements perform conditional checks about every half hour and upon match starts. It is not unheard of to see Hardcore (for example) unlock a day or two late.


Master Warrior
DnS has addressed the issue of this achievement simply not working at all. They did not however change the wording of the achievement description which is off by an order of 10. DnS has responded to complaints about this with a sort of "just deal with it" attitude. I can't blame them. It is a fairly minor gripe.

The achievement is now: Play total of 10,000 matches with more than 6 players.

There are some things in the description of which to take note. It does not specify that human players must be used, nor that the match actually be online. It also does not say whether the teams need to be balanced.
Host multiplayer (single player also works)

Use these settings:
Map: Molten Rock
Mode: *** (Team Deathmatch recommended)

9 bots
Difficulty: easy
score limit: 5
time limit: 1 minute

Balance: On (This is a bug, "on" for some reason actually means "off" lawl)

Set a password

***Since the achievement unlocks in any game mode with 6+ players and does not require that one win the match, any game mode can realistically be chosen. I would however note that if one is trying to grind wins quickly that one uses either destroy the beacon or team death match. These modes, when idled, will absolutely move your Warrior progress along the fastest. CTF can also sort of be idled but I do not recommend this.
When in game, team switch to red leaving blue a man down. idle your way to 10k matches. These methods can be slightly altered to fit the master rank requirements for all game modes except Deathmatch and CTF (kind of/ sort of.) I recommend completing Master Warrior before completing all other game mode master rank achievements.

Game Mode Win Achievements - Champion!!!
I would highly recommend trying to unlock Champion!!! after completing Master Warrior as there is apparently the potential for one to bug the other.
With that noted:

Obtain 1000 wins in Team Deathmatch
Easy as pie.


Map: Molten Rock
Host a multiplayer match
players: 7
bots: 6
time limit: 1 min
score limit: 5

When the game starts team switch to red. This will leave blue a man down. Do not respawn. Instead go to sleep, organize your Hummel collection, water your juniper bushes, whitewash your fence boards, etc while you idle your way to 1k victories.


Obtain 1000 wins in Destroy the Beacon
Also easy as pie.

This one is ostensibly the hardest to do. It depends on player skill level.
Recommended settings:

score limit: 5 for fast match *I recommend turning it off if you are doing weapon/ multi kill achievements

The minigun racks up the most kills, especially at higher bot numbers. This allows you to grind out your multi-kill achievements and DM wins easily. When minigun and multi-kill achievements have hit master rank, switch to another weapon type if you prefer.
Win 1000x
Hardcore!!! - Master Avenger / Master Survivor
Unlock Survivor and Avenger
This achievement was fixed by DnS long ago. After completing both Master Avenger and Master Survivor this achievement will unlock. The order almost certainly matters due to the fact that the avenger achievements are buggy. It should unlock at the same time, or as some report, slightly later than Master Survivor.


Master Avenger
Survive 15 matches without being killed
A patch released in 2010 addressed gameplay issues such as framerate dependent shooting and player movement but inadvertently broke the avenger achievements which currently fire at random. Victories do not count towards the achievement's progress.

There is thankfully a workaround.

Make a single player game
Use exactly these game settings and play one match for each of the achievement tiers.

Map: Apartment Block
Mode: Team Deathmatch
12 players
11 Bots
Difficulty: easy
score limit: off
time limit: 25
respawn: 5
Harcore: off
Set a password

Just idle in the game until all the avenger achievements unlock.
*This achievement is required to complete Hardcore!!
I highly recommend doing this achievement before attempting Master Survivor


Master Survivor
Survive 25 minutes without being killed.
Use your ranged weapon of choice (minigun and sniper are both quite viable) Keep the bot count low (or not if you are a particulary skilled player, I guess) Pick out a larger map. Set game time to 25 minutes. Don't die.

Option Two:
Host Multiplayer

Use these settings:
Map: Molten Rock
Mode: Deathmatch
2 players
0 bots
Difficulty: easy
score limit: off
time limit: 25
respawn: 0
Harcore: off
Set a password

Have a human player join and then just idle until all survivor achievements unlock.
I recommend doing this achievement after completing Master Avenger

If you completed "Master Avenger" after "Master Survivor", chances are "Hardcore!!!" will not unlock. If that happens, try to achieve "Master Survivor" once again. This generally resolves the issue.

Deadly Marksman
Much in the same way that DnS fixed the Warrior achievements and did not change the listed requirement values, Deadly Marksman remains incorrect. The player is only required to kill 2000 enemies using the sniper rifle.

This is fortunate as the sniper rifle is notoriously difficult to use well. There is a physical cap on how many kills can logistically be acquired with the sniper in 25 minutes. If we factor in the horrendous 6 second reload time, assume no requirement to pick up ammo packs (lolz), a chained kill combo every time, and 100% accuracy the cap is 250. Getting to 200 kills/round with bots is unrealistic. I found it was difficult to crack 200 kills even with a static partner. So, under optimum im-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-possible conditions this achievement still requires 8 hours of pure grind.

Grenade Bug
Grenade Kills logically count towards grenade kills, but they also add to the total kills of whichever weapon one has equipped (excluding Rocket Launcher and Magma Thrower) This can potentially speed up the process of Sniper Kills or Plasma Kills immensely.
Booster Trooper!! Achievement
Unlock: Master Trooper, Crusader, Hardcore and Champion.
The achievement was broken with the initial release of the game. This is absolutely true.
Apart from it being unlocked by a few people at random through a long fixed bug, it could not be obtained.
Many angry emails and forum posts later the devs fixed the issue. According to DnS, achievements such as Booster Trooper!!, Hardcore, and Champion do a global check for 'all conditions met' periodically.
They fixed the glitch.

However, the achievement still doesn't unlock properly.
This is almost certainly because of changes made to the meta-conditions within the pre-existing needed conditions to unlock Booster Trooper!! without also reconciling these changes in the coding.
Notable Examples:
  • Master Warrior now takes 10k wins instead of 1k wins to unlock.
  • Master Marksman now only requires 3.5k kills to unlock instead of the original 5k.

This is ostensibly the issue.
While the conditions to unlock were fixed, the metaphorical 'ghosts' of these former conditions still linger within the meta-requirements for Booster Trooper!!.

In English this means: After unlocking Master Trooper, Crusader, Hardcore, and Champion; one must then perform an additional 1.5k kills with the sniper rifle. Achievement should unlock immediately but may unlock at the end of round or late.

By default port 27015 and 27016 are used. If you want to host a game forward & open these ports

Once you started and exited Booster Trooper the first time, a settings file is generated:

You can change the ports there with your preferred text editor by adjusting these 2 settings:

A dedicated server is included in the package:

A document about settings and setting up a server (BT Dedicated Servers Guide.pdf and sample preferences/.bat are in there as well).

playing booster trooper is fun. i believe people should have options to amend their playstyle as they please. For example, i did all my shotgun and armcutter kills by playing the ctf gamemode for real. :grin:

Should have used Cos' map from the beginning for a big amount of time saving. Whoever reading this, make sure to use Cos' map to boost/grind/farm efficiently otherwise you are gonna waste up to 100 hours on this. Thanks a lot for the guide and the map. Time to remedy the free weekend misunlock I did 12 years ago.

It's weird that I idled for more than 100 hours and only reached 6600+ games played. Did I do something wrong? Cause normally other people can somehow finish grinding.:steamsad:
