You CAN use the Bandana and Stealth, but since MGS doesn't let you choose difficulty on completed saves it means earning them on Hard first as well.

(#17) VR Training Graduatet
Complete all VR training missions

Yeah... Either this one is glitched and they simply mean all 31 from the main menu of the game and simply not unlocking for many, or they really DO mean all 300 VR missions from the extra disc. Verdict is still outstanding...

(#18) Ghost Photo Exorcist
Exorcise a ghost photo

You need to take a picture with the Camera, so that it will show a ghost once you look at it in the main menu. Here you have the option to exorcise the ghost from the picture.
Easiest is the one right in the room where you pick up the camera. Go to the door right where you enter this room and look south, then equip the camera and make a picture.

I think it should be noted that if you go the Master Book in the games launch menu and jump to page 87 it has the location of all the ghost along with which ones are not available in certain versions of the game like the European release. Might be helpful if someone is in a different section of the game and don't want to back track, so they can look up one in a closer location.
Plake  [author] Nov 4, 2023 @ 8:27am
You cannot avoid a single alert you mentioned, the achievement would be impossible if any of those would count xD
Agustin0987 Nov 4, 2023 @ 8:06am
Thanks for the reply @Plake. Very weird then, because I am pretty sure that those where the only alerts I got. Oh well, I guess another run (this time with camo thanks to that failure of previous run) hopefully I get the achievement.
Plake  [author] Nov 4, 2023 @ 1:09am
That most of them don't raise your counter at the results screen... ^^
Agustin0987 Nov 4, 2023 @ 12:26am
Only 4 alerts for Fox or Big Boss rank? I don't think that it is possible, I counted 8 scripted alerts:

1. Holding-cell ambush.
2. Escaping torture chamber.
3. Going up the stair of the radio tower.
4. Elevator ambush with invisible enemies in radio tower.
5. Elevator ambush before Raven fight.
6. When detected by Liquid when you first reach the REX control room.
7. When trapped in the REX control room with gas.
8. At the end, after the fight with Liquid and before the car chase.

Even if you can escape torture chamber without triggering an alarm that would still be 7 scripted alerts.

What am I missing here?
Plake  [author] Oct 31, 2023 @ 12:02pm
FOr people that are unsure: the SPECIAL MISSION disc is the European version and NOT the VR Mission disc that was sold in US (yeah... that means 50Hz, esp. annoying if you finished the game on the US 60 Hz version).
SVGELOST Oct 31, 2023 @ 6:51am
Just finished the VR missions on the 'Special Missions' disc, got the achievement. For time trials I only cleared them and didn't always place top 3 and got the achievement.
Plake  [author] Oct 31, 2023 @ 6:16am
You most likely used the North American version of the side game, many people online confirm it works with any of the european versions...
RaiRaiTheRaichu Oct 30, 2023 @ 10:31pm
Just finished all VR missions in the side game to 100% (didn't get first place on each though) and all 31 VR missions in the main game, no achievement.

Very, very sad
milkmycats Oct 30, 2023 @ 8:50am
You can get the FOX code name easily by switching to the Japanese version of MGS1. The JP version only has one difficulty which is on par with NA's easy mode, but still allows you to get FOX.

You can also use the torture room skip to skip half of the game. It's very easy to do, but the only issue is that weapons will be bugged and will not be usable immediately after picking them up. You'll have to do the HIND skip , which is a little trickier, but afterwards it's smooth sailing and you'll finish in just under an hour.
