IW3SP-MOD: New singleplayer client which fixes the IW 3.0 engine problems and adds the new features.

Also, make sure that you have the original game steam copy otherwise IW3SP-MOD client won't work!

For regular users:

• Easy way to load singleplayer mods without .bat files via in-game menu;
  
• Added the game achievements from OG Xbox 360;
  
• Added the gamepad support with aim assist;
  
• Added FOV logic from multiplayer to singleplayer;
  
• Separate sound channels as voices, music and cinematic as in CoD World at War;
  
• Added subtitles where missing and translation of Russian speech;
  
• Ability to launch the mods which request the 1.5 version.

Multi-Language support

IW3SP-MOD has multi-language[github.com] support.
In current moment client have language support:

• Spanish

Custom languages are supported, but a strings of the IW3SP-MOD not translated:

• Slovak
  
• Portuguese

In-game changes

F.N.G.

• Added the voice line about best squad record (complete the cargo ship mockup in less than 19 seconds)
  
• The cut training segments with Modern Warfare Remastered logic have been restored. You can skip or complete these optional courses
  
• Added aim assist segment for gamepads only

Heat

• Added the minigun mechanic for gamepads.

Misc

• Restored the arcade mode for German version of the game
  
  
• Fixed some loud sounds for English localization;
  
• Fixed some game hints for gamepads;
  
• Fixed some text localizations;
  
• Better fonts for Russian localization;
  
• Restored the unused battle chatter for Marines and Russians.

How about updates?

IW3SP-MOD automatically receives the new updates. You can turn on/off the automatic update in the game options.

If you don't want automatic update then you can check the updates in the main menu.

How to install?

1. Download the latest release from Gitea page: link[gitea.com]
2. Place the .zip contents into your Call of Duty 4 root folder.
3. Start the iw3sp_mod.exe.
4. ???
5. ENJOY!

P.S: MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL GAME STEAM COPY OTHERWISE IW3SP-MOD CLIENT WON'T WORK.

                                                                                                

If you want keep the game time count for steam then follow next steps:
1. Find the Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare in your library.
2. Click on the right mouse button and find 'Properties...' tab
3. In 'General' tab find the 'Launch options'.
4. Add in text box next line: "[FULL_PATH_OF_YOUR_COD4]\iw3sp_mod.exe" %command%

Description: When user trying to minimize the game window in fullscreen and go back to the game, then an error appears: DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error. Check the readme for possible solutions.
Solution: For resolve this issue have two ways:

• 1. Enable «Direct3D 9 Ex» in "Options->Video Settings".
  
• 2. Use the display mode «Windowed» or «Windowed (No Borders)» in "Options->Video Settings".

OK figured out it was because it was trying to install punk buster over and over, but once i gave it the files it needed, it launched the mod client just fine.

I tried this and it simply does not work. I don't know if it isn't supported anymore, but it still tries to run the original executable.

I changed the fov with the \cg_fov command in the console, but it resets every time I load the game or load the next level.

to the developer of the cod 4 single player mod, i have to give my thanks for making this campaign compatible with the controller. however, when i go into properties on steam and add the exact root path to the cod4 folder, the game doesn't acknowledge iw3sp. i'm not sure if anyone else this problem or if it's just me, but just a heads-up, even by adding your root path on steam, it may not work currently.
