About

This is a complete guide to Unmechanical (Talawa Games), a cute, indie, sci-fi puzzle game.

As always I recommend you to try the game and go through it without any kind of help, as much of the joy is in solving the puzzles by yourself. But, just in case, here's the guide. I'll try to give you hints and solutions in spoiler tags, so that you can choose how much help you need.

Version 1.1
*19feb20: New table with icons for achievements.

I hope you like it, and if so, please rate, thank you.
Walkthrough Part I: Getting started
Achievement: Above average intelligence
So you wake up in a cave, next to some water, and the first thing that comes is a message inviting us to press F1. DO NOT. F1 is used to get hints, and using it once will prevent the . The only keys you need are arrows (or WASD) and the space bar.

Achievement: Freediver
Take a big rock from the right, go back to the water, and use the weight of the rock to go underwater.

Achievement: Inner peace
You can also get this achievement by putting a rock on top of your helicopter and holding it for a while. It should be easy.

Now let's go with the game. Go right, through a pile of rocks, to find the first two easy puzzles, moving a lever and pressing a button with a rock will solve them.

For the third puzzle you need to get the red ball that is shooted when you pull a handle like in the picture. You need that ball to press the button down a crack on the floor (to the left). So put a rock on the ball's way to take it, move the other rocks out of your way and drop the ball down there to continue.

This one is simple as playing "Simon says". Just pull the center handle to get a sequence and pull the others in order to repeat it. Complete three sequences and go on.

On your way you will find your first Energy Orb. There are important, take it with you. Keep it with you. You will also met the Janitor robot. Don't worry, it's harmless.

Next one gets trickier. Four buttons on the floor, moving four doors in a tube. You need to push them with some blocks and then with a metal bar on them like in the picture, as one of the buttons doesn't open but closes a door. So from left to right, press buttons 1, 2 and 4.

You'll come to a gear piece and three handles that you can pull to get a result as in the image. There are many combinations for this. If you get frustrated, it's as easy as pulling, (counting from left to right): 3,1,2,2,2

Don't forget your Energy Orb. You wll need to throw it in a tube to recover it on next screen, ending the first part of the game.
Walkthrough Part II: My heart will go on
There's your Energy Orb again, take it and go all the way down in the darkness till you reach... the heart. Give it the Orb. Of the many doors surrounding the place, only the rightmost one will be open, so that's the way

The weight puzzle can be solved with different combinations, just find one that lets you go up. I recommend taking out all the cubes then just putting a small one on scales 2 and 4, as in the image.

Next two puzzles are quite easy. The lever won't work, so take the rock next to it and throw it into the big gear on the left side. Then follow the path to a red bulb and keep space bar pressed on it untill the door fully opens. You find the laser room.

Achievement: Something about magic
There's an achievement involving this room and making a laser pentagram, Just use the bulbs to move th emirrors as in the picture and get it.

From the pentagram, just move the upper-right mirror once and the laser will hit the gem, the temperature will go green and the door will open.

Now go left and up, back to the heart from a newly opened door, and continue left through another one. You'll meet the Janitor again, sweeping, and get to the next puzzle.

Achievement: Loopist
This is a perfect place to do some loops, grab the metal bar on the small room (upper-left corner) by one of the ends and swing it 360º till you perform 4 loops in the air.

Another failing lever, as you can see, because of a broken cable. You must go to the upper-left small room and grab everything there (rock, bar, iron ball), throw it into the water, and watch the level go up to the broken cable.
Oh, it was not enough? Find more rocks on the far left of the place.

More lasers! Use the mirrors-in-a-bubble to get the laser to the gem. Remember that you can grab them and move. Do it like in the picture, targeting the gem till the bar gets full green. The door will open leading to a known place.

Before you go up to the heart, there's one last laser puzzle. Bring a laser from the right side (just put the lower mirrors completely wide) and one from the left side (use the cubes and mirror on it to avoid the step. Then you will have two lasers from side to side and two gems up and down. Take a mirror-in-a-bubble and leave it on the water, making both lasers touch the gems at the same time.

When the bar goes green, you'll receive a new Energy Orb. give it to the heart and a new door will open on the left. Pull the handle and get in the tube.
Walkthrough Part III: A puzzle of flesh
Here you meet the bomb and the flesh button (eew). Push the handle, leave the bomb next to the button, it activates with expllosions and the door will open.

Now you get to a big area with some closed doors, a bomb dispenser and a hot furnace. All around you can see some kind of coalrocks which you can't move, because they are attached to the ground. Use bombs on them so you can pick them up and throw all the rocks you find into the furnace.

Achievement: Typical
Let some flying lava rocks hit your head for the achievement.

Going down you have a puzzle to the left and some kind of huge cauldron next to the water all the way down. Let's go left first.

There's a moving mechanism with two gears, a lever and a metal bar. Stop the gears with the bar so you can control the mechanism with the lever. Then you can enter the tube, but it seems you are blocked in both positions of the lever by the opening and closing doors. Unless... you take the metal bar again and put it crossed in the way of the nearest door, laying in the upper tube. Then move the lever and the door will stop halfway. Only one tube will get closed and you can go on.

Go up through a fleshy tunnel, taking with you the metal bar you will find. Use it to press the button and keep the next door open.

There you will find five flesh buttons (eeeew) and a bomb dispenser. Each button raises a door, but they don't fall back at the same speed. So, the fastest one is the one at the bottom-left. Blow up the upper buttons first, then the leftmost and central on the bottom, then finish with the bottom-left one and go across the doors. Pull the handle to keep everything open.

Now another closed door, a lever and a rock. If you had a metal bar... Take the rock to the button where you left the bar and use the bar to push the new lever through a hole.

Now Pull the handle and you are back to the furnace, but on the way there are some more iron rocks. Bomb them and throw them to the fire.

Time to go down to the cauldron. It requires fire and water. If you fill it with a volcanic rock (the ones jumping around) and water (fill the small cauldron next to it), the water level will go down. After a couple times you'll be able to continue right.

You reach a place with a robot and monitors, where you can grab a half empty Energy Orb. Take it right to the tube to get a full one and put it back where the old one was. The robot will give you access to a tunnel up and to the right.

In the tunnel you'll find a machine and, on its right, a floating case. Put the case into the machine and get in to get upgraded. Now you can dive.

Following the cave you get to a puzzle with a magnet and an Energy Orb. Pushing the bulb will make the Orb go up. Just get it to the other side of both screens. Once you get it, move it up into the tube and you can go all the way back to the beginning of the volcano area. Pull the handle and back to the heart. Take the Orb and put it in place.

Now this moment can be confusing. No new doors open around the heart. But then remember that you can dive now. That means you can choose one of two ways: leftmost door to the broken cable and then down, or bottom door to the right laser room and down.

Anyway, you will explore a big area, as both entries are connected, and you will find a closed tube and a button. You can use any object (for example from the broken cable area) to push it and go in.

Following the tube you get into... something... and reach a puzzle with bombs and a laser. Don't let the laser touch the bomb, calculate properly, watch for cover (there are five blocks the laser doesn't go through) and blow up the flesh button up there.

Next one requires some fast fingers. There's a series of interconnected tubes, a bomb dispenser, some lasers and a button. Drop the bomb into the tbottom-center tube, quickly move left to stop the laser while the bomb flies over your head. Then quicly move up to stop also the other laser as the bom flies from the left to the flesh button.

Bullseye puzzle is quite original. There are different areas and colors and four lights which you must turn on. but... How? You must make that no area in the target touches another area of the same color.

Done this, you get the last Energy Orb and follow the tube to the heart.

With the last Orb, the mechanism lets go three kind of energy sparks which you can move, and the robots around the heart activate. You must give powerto all of them by putting the sparks near enough. But as there are only three, they must share. Use a big spark in the middle of the bottom robots, another big one between the rightmost and the upper-right robots, and the small one for the upper-left robot.

The last door will open, up and right, and you can finally leave this area.
Walkthrough Part IV: Escape
Go right to get into a tube, as there's nothing you can do down right now. It's time for a musical puzzle. It's another "Simon says", this time with sound and two different beats. The sequence changes, so you'll have to just try.

Once you get two right sequences, go right to obtain a new Energy Orb. Take it left to the tube with light and go back to the beginning of this area. There go down and put the Orb in place for a new puzzle.

Now that the puzzle has energy, move the lever at the bottom and the screen will show the energy spent. Play with the bulbs to get the energy right on the line, and the door will open. If you don't find the combination, just turn on the bulbs on the right side.

Once the door is open, push the lever and go down for the second part of the same puzzle. Can't find the combination? then turn off all the bulbs in the previous room and turn on the ones in this one.

The screens puzzle can be hard to understand at first glance, but it's not so complicated. After the Janitor blocks your way, pull the hadle and you will be stuck with five screens with five different symbols. The symbols represent numbers from 1 to 5, being each unit represented by some kind of aphostrophe ('), but five gets a longer sign.

You must remember the initial order, and put each cube in place following that one. The moment you place a cub, that amount will be added in each screen, but you can always do the maths to know the original number, or just check the order of the screens, knowing that the smaller amount will always be the screen for 1, the biggest amount the one for 5, etc. The easiest way is just to remember the initial number and place each cube just ignoring the changes.

With all cubes placed, pull the handle and, if you did it correctly, you will know and the door will open.

Next you'll find a lever that -oh, surprise- doesn't open the door, but the floor will open giving access to a long way through some moving mechanical pieces, till the next puzzle.

Pushing the bulbs will temporarily stop the moving metal planks, so that you can pass as you find it easier. BUT if you want an achievement...

Achievement: We are in a hurry
Don't touch the bulbs and just calculate your move from the left (avoid the fans) and go through.

Achievement: That's why helicopters need elevators
After that you'll find a huge metal block and an elevator. Move the block into the elevator pulling it like in the picture and then get in to get the achievement.

Follow the path to some kind of robot crushing machine. Your path, in the upper tunnel, is blocked. Open a red lid on the side of the machine and push the button to access a small room with a handle. Pull it, push the button again and with some movement from the machine your path will be open. It it doesn't, repeat the process.

In the next room just push the lever and enter the tube, follow the path around some circular structure and push another lever to continue... oh, the lever won't do its job, surprise... find another way (go down following the wall).

Finally you found the sockets that kep this working, and of course... unplug them! The Janitor doesn't seem pleased now, that will teach hi....WHOAAAAH!

Go up and through a tube to a new place with a handle activating a scanner. Going down there's an upgrading machine, and to it's left, in a small room, a battery. Grab the battery and go right and down all the way to a closed door. Under the floor you can see a used battery, so move the metal planks and replace it with a new one. That will let you open and go all the way down again to the socket room.

Here' your nemesis, the Janitor. What's left of it. Grab the Janitor and go all the way to the upgrading machine, where you have to make an important decission.

Achievement: Promotion
Throw the Janitor into the cauldron and pull the lever in the machine. You will replace him.

Achievement: Escapist
Otherwise (you can load game after the achievement, don't worry), you can put the Janitor on the scanner up, pull that handle, and open the door to your freedom, ending the game.

Congratulations!

Walkthrough: Extended DLC

Here we go again, a new adventure awaits!

Our first puzzle can be easy or annoying, and has different winning combinations. The goal is to move all the walls back, using the four handles in front of them. One fast combination is, from left to right, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3. Then follow the path, push a lever, open a door.

We reach a multi-room puzzle with several stuff around. First there's two confronted tubes up and down, then another tube down and on the right two buttons. A handle shows a rock falling through the confronted tubes, and opening the lonely tube gets us to a room with a metal bar. So, first close the bottom confronted tube and pull the lever to get a rock. Then go down the other tube, get the metal bar and use i tto press both buttons, opening a door. In the next room there's a button on the ceiling and a mechanism moved by a handle. Take your rock, leave it where the button and push it, making it fall. Then push the handle and you path will be open.

Go to the next room, don't foget your rock! Theres a tube with a fan at the bottom. Throw your rock there and pull the handle to open the door. Continue past some huge lights to another door that, surprisingly, opens. Then a tube and OW!

Try your best to advance, using your limited flight to get into the tube and then all the way right. There's a metal bar on the way, but you don't need it at all. You get to a place with three smoking tubes. Use them to jump higher and to the right to a bomb dispenser and a pipe resembling a... cannon?.

Let a bomb roll from the right to the cannon, while you enter through the left opening. That will shoot you far away to an upgrade station, getting yourself fixed.

Go right all the way to continue, entering a cave. You will need another bomb to go through. Once you get to the crane, notice that you can grab it with your beam and use brute force to open the door.

Now you see a cool big pizza-cutter machine, right? Push the lever and continue through a broken pipe to the end of this area.

The first magnet puzzle is an original one. There's a ball, a bar, a hook and a battery slot (The battery was on your way here, didn't you take it?). Play with the magnet, the bar and the ball. Notice that you can pass through the hook and also the bar. The whole point is to put the bar through the hook and into the right gap, with the ball on the floor, then turn on the magnet and you can continue. If you don't find a way, check the picture in the spoiler below.

Next magnet puzzle has two entrances, the main one and a tube quite hidden that you can find if you follow the ceiling when coming from the left, before enternig the room.
Pushing the lever will move the magnet right or left, opening the central bottom pipe which hides a button. Use the tube entrance and move the magnet to the center, then press the button.

In the next area just follow your buddy and what it does and pass through some doors thanks to teamwork, and you will get to a screen with five levers. Now it's your time to help, touch the levers lookin for a combinat...oh.. OH SH*T DUDE.

Ok, maybe we can fix this mess. Go on with more... teamwork. Use your buddy on the scale while you pull the handle on the first door, Use it on the scale while pressing the button for the second one. Once you reach a big room with a big screen and a lever, push it -oops, something's not working properly- to open the door and get into a room with some tubes. Remember, we don't leave anyone behind.

Pull a handle up there to release an empty Energy Orb and throw it down the tube. Go right to find that the tube is broken and you need to fix it. Take the metal bar and put it into the obvious slot, creating a corner for the tube. Then make your buddy stand on the button to keep the bar in place. Now take the orb and go back to the previous room, throw it down the tube again. The door will open.

Going left you'll see a new Orb come to replace the old one, giving energy back to the big screen, so we can go back there, as always, with your friend. Pull the lever for a green flash and the ceiling will open for you to go up.

On your left, an upgrade machine. On your right, some broken sparkling cables. Up there, a scale and another door. It's time to choose your fate.

(Pressing Continue from the Menu will let you complete both endings)

Achievement: Self Sacrifice. Put your friend on the upgrade machine. Put your self between the broken cables to make contact and wait for the green bar to fill itself.

Achievement: There and back again. Put your friend on the scale to open the ceiling door and fly up to your freedom. Alone. Sad. Selfish. Shame on you.

Congratulations!

Secrets and curiosities
This is a short cute game so you wouldn't expect it to have many secrets, but there are actually some weird things.

Secret Files
If you check the game files, you'll find some stuff, including adult material, as discovered by user swoo703. Secret files include a picture of a woman, a romantic art piece and some adult sound clip.
