Six Days NEEDS a Generation Kill Cameo!
By Mr Arty
(I UNDERSTAND THIS GAME IS STILL IN EARLY ACCESS) This isn't much of a "guide" per say, but it is something I wanted to talk about at length that a normal discussion would not do a justice.

Introduction: What is Generation Kill?
For those who don't know what Generation Kill is.. (how have you not seen this? WTF)

It is a 2008 seven-part television miniseries that centres around the Marine Corps's 1st Reconnaissance Battalion during the beginning invasion of Iraq (2001-2003) and their internal struggles with the choices of command and relaying of information.

The movies themselves are heavily military based obviously- but the actual focal point of this series is not necessarily "pro-America propaganda" as it shows a disturbing level of realism that some wouldn't like due to the painful truth that it puts on the viewer.

A prime example of what I'm trying to say is an episode called "Screwby" where a commander called in a shelling on an Iraqi town after having reports of RPG's in the area, resulting in the entire town full of people being bombed for ultimately nothing other than one building with "alleged" insurgents. Within the episode as well- there is a scene while Bravo is waiting for the call to press on, suddenly taking fire from their flank. Upon covering from the firing, they discover it isn't the Taliban- but rather friendly fire from reservists which results in their main supply truck being heavily damaged.

Six Days in Fallujah: "Spec Ops Mode" Discussions
These were discussed amongst different groups of squads I was a part of.
Fair warning to those who complain over opinions.

The community in this game has seemingly been spectating on this new mode for quite a long time. Almost every high ranking player I've had the pleasure of conversating with has been so informative and creative with their theories on what this mode will entail- thus I decided to create it as a section of this topic- because they deserve a place to be observed by many.
(special thank you to those random Captains and Lieutenants who decided to chat with me.)

The main focus's/speculations that almost every person I talked to this about:

Will the Spec Ops mode centre around the 1st Recon Battalion?
I personally believe it should be at least somewhat focused upon since they were technically the very first Marines that were a part of the initial invasion of Iraq. The stories not even from Generation Kill have shown that the "tip of the spear" had to endure some serious traumatic decisions / orders- which most had to just endure due to the hierarchy that encompasses the United States Military.

How realistic will Fallujah get?
Plenty of the higher ranked players that I encountered personally seem to want the game to push beyond the boundaries unlike any other mil-sim game. The most well-discussed is having civilians within zones that players have to search and pacify. Not only would this boost the game's reputation up tenfold, it would also make this "simulation" feel so much more realistic and engaging. The other main discussed topic is the main fatigues of the Marine Corps- as during the first initial invasion, the Marines that were deployed were often ill-equipped: from woodland camo gear to lack of proper supplies for batteries/ammo.

Another side of this topic was also the possibility of having a "tour" of sorts, where players would have to play a long-term game involving multiple missions/objectives before eventually being rewarded highly depending on their decisions. This would not only be beneficial for the game, as people like myself can become full invested with a "squadron" of friends that do everything together- adding a whole other level of dedication.

Six Days in Fallujah: "Campaign Mode" Discussions
These were discussed amongst different groups of squads I was a part of.
Fair warning to those who complain over opinions.

This is personally the main thing I am excited for. A lot of other players are seemingly just as excited for this for the allure of- what will it be? To have a game as intense and as realistic as this- creating an engaging, scary, communication-based co-op campaign is such a fantastic idea to get lost in. Obviously this mode will have to be amongst friends since the amount of teamwork would have to be paramount (at least in my opinion.)

The main points I've heard from this hyped up campaign had a surprisingly high amount of questions/hypothetical's centred around Generation Kill.

Would Bravo Squad be the main focus in the campaign?
I personally don't think this would be a good idea, because the work put into this game would be shadowed by the show and the grip it has on said viewers. Don't get me wrong- I think having them somewhat in the campaign would be fantastic, however having the ENTIRE campaign centred around them would be a little too much.

Would locations used in Generation Kill be in Campaign missions?
Places like the airfield with tanks as well as the main Humvee encounters would be amazing to have in this game- specifically having team-oriented driving experiences would be the most realistic and exciting thing possible. (however that would be extremely difficult to create)

Long term missions? Short term missions?
I personally would like to see longer, more roleplay-based missions for the Campaign mode. Since there is already short-term games, this would allow people who are really into the game to fully immerse themselves into the horrors and violence they will experience.

Generation Kill Cameo - Main Points
I believe a cameo would be only beneficial to have a cameo- not only would it captivate a whole new perspective for mil-sim games, but it would also would make this game truly one of a kind!

- Difficult decisions with intense co-operative battles.
- Random encounter system for a unique experience every match.
- Iconic characters adding more depth to this already unique and creative game.
- Adding news press + civilians within this game would make this so much more immersive, rather than just a generic "shoot-em-up".

Even though the show is no longer relevant in the public eye, it is still a show that deserves a lot more recognition- especially since the game touches already slightly on the same viewpoints.
Generation Kill Cameo - Characters
The main characters I think they should FOR SURE add to this game:
It's hard to say which characters would specifically fit within this game
I will list ones based on how Six Days in Fallujah is setting their game.

Lt. Nathaniel Fick

This character is possibly the best for this game- all around a great written character and his style fits in perfectly with the whole energy this game seemingly wants to create. Within the series, he is not only the main planner/strategist, but also is the only one able to withstand the crushing stress/pressure and keep up a camaraderie amongst the other troops.

Sgt. Brad Colbert AKA: "Iceman"

For a squadron-oriented campaign or long-term sequence game, Iceman would not only add an intensity to the missions, but also his unique rifle could add the possibility of having NVG's or Thermal Scopes involved in missions out in Humvee's / Marshlands where light is so scarce during the night.

Cpl. Josh Ray Person

While his addition to the game would be a little off the beaten path of Six Days, I personally believe he is one of the best characters in any military-based show/movie. From his satirical and brash personality- to his crazed manic way of speaking with his personal opinions on politics, world views, etc. He would be such a great addition to this game.

Cpt. Dave McGraw AKA: "Captain America"

His character is made purely to hate- with that idea in mind, having a mission surrounded around terrible command orders. This concept would not only be fun and challenging, it would show another side to warfare that no other game has really ever touched on- incompetence and egos surrounding higher ranking officers and their desperate desires to "climb up the podium".

Those are the main ones that I think- at the moment of writing this would fit in perfectly. They all provide something different towards the game in the sense of play style and mechanics.
Thanks for Reading!
Hopefully this'll help spark some more debate and possible additions towards this game. I can't want to see what comes out next :)

I agree they should have a Marine Recon element maybe some new missions would be great DLC or since its Fallujah maybe use units that were there. Army Delta, paratroopers, or SEALs.

I do agree with you on the gamemode concepts, but i think that the 1st recon battalion was not on the 2nd battle of Fallujah in full force, just as an attachment made up of the 1st force recon company to support the RCTs 1 and 7 that had a more sizeable presence in the AO, but a cameo would be nice for sure :)

i 'd like this game to have all its features that its supposed to especially this one, but i also think this game would be even better if they had a full on multiplayer experience like hell let loose matches pvp to go with it
