Introduction
Hello
In this guide you will learn how to prepare and edit templates to create livery of your own airline or recreated one!
We will provide all the necessary information step by step to do that!

To work on the templates you will need:
  • photo editing programs like Photoshop, Gimp...
Preparation of templates
The best way to quickly prepare a folder under you livery is to enter "Templates" inside the installation game folder.

[YourDrive]:\Steam\steamapps\common\AirportSim\Community\Templates

And than copy folder of selected aircraft into PlaneSkins folder.

[YourDrive]:\Steam\steamapps\common\AirportSim\Community\PlaneSkins

PlaneSkins

Is a folder where you should place all of your liveries after finishing the work on them. From it are collected all the necessary textures, information and are put into the game.

To work on the liveries you can either use templates that are inside the folder already.

If you would like to work on PSD files download them using a link below.

Template Construction
Now we will explain how the templates are constructed.

Template for the aircraft divided into 5 parts.
Fuselage1, Fuselage2 and Fuselage3 are pages that hold the painting parts for the fuselage of an aircraft.
Last two named Engines and Sharklets for A320 Neo or Engines and Winglets for B737 Max and Tails which hold tail and horizontal stabilizer.

Each file contains separate layers:
  • three folders with individual aircraft parts
  • layers to help with colored overlay and description of the part to help distinguish each layer

Layers (PSD)

Name of the aircraft part

Background Color - separates parts of the aircraft fuselage.

ugh wish this was much easier and had an in game way of doing this more simple. Rough way of doing this for those of us who aren't overly savvy with this type of thing.

for some reason I thought the process of creating your own livery would be A LOT easier. I guess I'll have to wait for someone else to create an Alaska Airlines livery
