The L4D2 Community in Sprays: A Collection

So I've been playing L4D2 on and off again for over 10 years now, and something I've always enjoyed seeing (when it's not something blatantly NSFW) are the sprays people use while playing online.
I've been collecting screenshots of people who share their sprays with me for the better part of two years now and because OneDrive for whatever reason has started deleted some of my older screenshots, I figured it was better now than never to post what I've collected. No NSFW sprays will be featured (and yes, there were PLENTY of you out there that had them)

Odds are if you've seen someone constantly spray a Pacman L4D2 spray (portrayed in the guide pic) and tell you to look at it, you were playing with me.
There were a lot of sprays that didn't make the cut for this guide but were still VERY good. I might make a follow-up in the future to feature some of them.

Spray Categories

Once you remove the NSFW sprays from the table, there's actually a lot more variety with sprays than you'd think. For simplicity's sake, I'll be dividing the sprays I have into 6 categories.

• Default Sprays (sprays that come with the game)
  
• Anime and Video Game references (that I personally know of)
  
• Classic memes (aiming for more into the 2000's era)
  
• Modern memes (2010's to present)
  
• Valve memes (TF2, Half Life, Gmod sprays)
  
• Miscellaneous

That being said, let's get into it.

Default Sprays

Starting off with the defaults, these are sprays that come with the game and consist of the survivor heads, special infected, and of course our favorite gnome.
It was rare for me to encounter default sprays outside of Coach as he's set to the default, but there were at least one other occasion where I ran into an Ellis or Gnome spray. I never once saw anyone spray another survivor's head or the special infected but am sure in the older days it was more common.

As mentioned, Coach was the most frequently run into default spray.
The second most common spray was Gnome Chompski, who's depicted below in all his glory. There were more sprays of him but sadly have been wiped out and lost to time.

Finally, we have a lone Ellis in a sea of gnomes and Coaches.

Anime & Video Game References

The collection with the largest category. If I didn't place a ban on NSFW images in this guide this whole section would be filled with them. Some of these games I'm less familiar with than others. Of course, anime girl characters VASTLY outnumbered anime guys.

We'll be starting off with anime first, then delve into video games and etc from there.

Classic Memes

Moving on to classic memes. I know that person to person it's gonna vary what's "classic" and what's more modern, and so I decided that things that I grew up seeing when I was a kid into my late teens would go into classic while everything else would be bumped up to modern.

And thus, here is our collection:

Modern Memes

These are more or less memes that I began to see as I got into my early to mid 20's, which is the barrier I'm using to separate classic from modern. Despite being one of the smaller categories I'd argue these have the funnier sprays. I just wish more of them were out there.

Valve Memes

Valve memes get their own special category out of the fact that they're timeless and there's a lot of crossover from Half Life, Gmod, TF2 and L4D2 players from my experience.
