Evergreen is a zen single player game where you control the growth of a mythical tree with the goal of guiding and nurturing life throughout the history of Earth.

It's a creative and relaxing experience where you'll grow and personalize your tree and its environment while shaping the Earth's history though subtle interactions with the world.

Creation and customisation - Evergreen tasks the player with growing a unique tree that will interact and affect the environment around it. To make this possible Evergreen will include multiple variations for each part of the player's tree, giving a total of over 3 million unique combinations.

Vibrant environments - the environments of Evergreen are full of things to discover and interact with, each new interaction will help the environment around you become healthier and more beautiful, while also unlocking variants for your own tree.

Experience the past - each level in Evergreen's story mode takes place around an important historical event. From the first animal life emerging from the oceans to the wars and great achievements that make up human history, your tree will bear witness and often play in integral role in the events as they unfold.

Story Mode will see your tree surviving throughout history. Interactions with the world will leave a permanent mark on your tree and completing challenges will unlock cosmetic options for you to use.

Sandbox Mode will allow the player to build a tree with full control over the environment, with full control over physics, growth speed, music and backgrounds.

Update #1

Thank you to everyone that has voted and commented so far, we were surprised by how many non English speaking users have shown support for the game. We would love to add support for multiple languages to Evergreen and the only reason that we haven’t listed it on Greenlight in anything but English is that we are yet to finalize translation agreements.

Having said that we are a small team and we will only be able to localize the game to a handful of languages, so if you like the idea of Evergreen but want to see it in another language please let us know in the comments, it will help us immensely when the time comes to pick what languages we will be translating to. Once again thank you all so much, it is awesome to see our months of hard work being appreciated by the community.

Update #2

I just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who came and played the game at PAX and took the time to get on here and comment and vote, we’re now safely back in Australia and are getting back into fixing some of the bugs that we found and implementing some of the new features that were suggested by players at PAX. For anyone more local we will be demonstrating Evergreen at Floriade in our home city of Canberra in about a months time and we’d love to have you swing by and give your opinion of the game.

Update #3

I know we've been silent on here for a while but I am writing to assure you that Evergreen is very much alive and well. We have been solidly developing over this year and Evergreen has made some huge changes in that time. The core of Evergreen is still very much the same, but we have overhauled the physics systems, and looked at adding more options for player customisation while also changing the look and feel of the UI. We have {LINK REMOVED} and we try and talk about the progress regularly on facebook and reddit.

Thankyou all so much for commenting here or our social media, or for taking the time to come and check out the game in person at one of our many public demos. If you have any questions or suggestions for how we can make Evergreen the best game possible for you, our players, please let us know in the comments below.

@(->RIZ3<-) Mental_WIz Currently we are still in beta and the only version we have uploaded to Steam's servers is a windows only build. We will only be supporting Mac with the release build. Sorry about any confusion.

I totally understand why you don't want to sign up to mailing lists (I'm the same!). I can promise we wont spam you though, if that helps. We just use it to notify fans of major milestones (eg. release). I think we've only sent one email in the last year and a half.

If you want some other options you can follow us on our social media channels:

Hey there! Sorry for the silence on our end, we don't check our greenlight comments very often since there's usually not much activity over here (we're much better with twitter, , and facebook, . We've just posted an update on the progress of the game over on facebook, but I'll copy it here too: Unfortunately, and despite our best efforts, Evergreen is going to take longer than we expected. One of the realities of being a small team of indie developers is that the timing can be a bit unpredictable - new tasks come up and others take longer than expected (and we're just generally bad at predicting these things it seems). We're really excited to get the game to you as soon as possible and we're sorry for the delay, but we promise that when the game comes out it will be better for it. Thanks for your support and patience.

Saw the game @ PAX, looking for a button that adds it to something that will tell me when it's released, I don't like mailing lists. Guess I'll just hope to notice it again in a few months time.
