By Valenteeen
Hellllo! This guide will outline the blood values, totals, and collection amounts from buckets, with and without perks in effect. As well as when it is a good time to feed, and under what circumstances you should not.

ALSO! I am no longer invested in the process of purchasing content for this game and updating any of my guides, if you would like to hit me up, dm me, comment on my profile or one of these guides I will add you to the editors, just let me know!<3

Short Intro
Anyone with any amount of time playing Family will have noticed the blood harvesting being not so apparent until jumping into a game over and over and over adjusting this stat to get the exact numbers you want, along with confusion of how the buckets work to fill your total. So I have compiled all of these stats along with lots of helpful information including how perks effect the numbers on both collecting and totals of blood!
Blood Harvesting Stat
The Blood Harvesting stat changes many many things, such as the amount of blood you can hold in your vial, and in turn, the amount of blood you harvest from blood buckets, as well as the amount of blood gained from hitting victims, and executing them. All of these things are directly tied to the simple Maximum total blood you can store (ignoring Blood Bank).
Totals (with/without perks)
Your total blood storage is the only thing directly effected by putting points into blood harvesting, the amount of blood collected by any means is just a percentage of your total, this is consistent from all of my experience, regardless of means.
Below I have a graph showing totals without perks, it's linear, from 15 (the lowest nearest 5 possible) all the way up to 50 (maximum)
With the perk Blood Banker, you get 10%/20%/30% more maximum blood and that will directly add onto the totals listed, I have a graph made for level 3 Blood Banker's totals below as well

So much more, notice a huge total increase, from 140 to 182!!

Below I will list all of the exact totals for every 5 Blood Harvesting, with and without Blood Banker (level 3 for examples)
15 Blood Harvesting = 84 total w/ Blood Banker +25 = 109 total
20 Blood Harvesting = 92 total w/ Blood Banker +28 = 120 total
25 Blood Harvesting = 100 total w/ Blood Banker +30 = 130 total
30 Blood Harvesting = 108 total w/ Blood Banker +32 = 140 total
35 Blood Harvesting = 116 total w/ Blood Banker +35 = 151 total
40 Blood Harvesting = 124 total w/ Blood Banker +37 = 161 total
45 Blood Harvesting = 132 total w/ Blood Banker +40 = 172 total
50 Blood Harvesting = 140 total w/ Blood Banker +42 = 182 total
Harvesting Blood (Buckets and Victims)
Whenever you collect blood from either a victim or a blood bucket, you get a percentage of your total, you may have noticed this.
You get 1/5 or 20% of your maximum (ignoring Blood Bank) from buckets (sometimes this isn't so accurate such as 50 bloodharvesting giving you 30 per despite 1/5 being 28), and 1/10 or 10% from hitting victims, as far as kills, you get a total of 95%, this will likely never really be a thing, you will probably be hitting them to kill them and this will fill you to 100%

With perks, such as and only: Universal Donor or Surgical, your blood gathering is increased quite a large amount.

Universal Donor will make your buckets give you 24%/26%/28%, rather than a flat 20%
Sugical will bring you to 12%/16%/20% per hit on victim, instead of the even 10%
Feeding Grandpa
The bare bones basics of Grandpa and how feeding works

Grandpa takes 100 blood to level up, every single time, and the bar for that will be displayed in the bottom right of your hud, along with the 3 potential perks activated at his level 1,2, and 3.
Grandpa make noise and the victims are revealed if crouching (or doing an objective action, I think this needs changing but whatever)
-Level 1 allows for detection, identical to the yell he does as soon as awakened due to loud victim noise, executed victim, or leveled up, as well as unlocking the first grandpa perk.
-Level 2/3 increase the cool down speed between passive yells, as well as unlocking the 2nd and 3rd perks
-Level 4 makes detection "in shadows" or in basic terms, hiding places, such as wardrobes, car trunks, and chest freezers. Along with hiding in other terms, such as foliage and bushes
-Level 5 "nowhere to hide" allows detection regardless of action, position, or distance from the family members, this is the ultimate goal when feeding grandpa; detection against the victim's knowledge. Most victim's seem to have no idea that they are still visible while crouching during level 5, so use this time to sneak up on them if they stop moving and just crouch there.

Now, when should I feed? Who's job is that? What is the point if I can "just find them"?
You can see the perks of the players you will be cooperating with, if you see people running Universal Donor, Blood Banker, and they're playing Cook or Sissy, let them feed, they have indicated that they will being feeding for at least a few levels of the match, and that means you should back up and let them gather buckets.
What if there is 2 feeders? OMG That is not bad at all. That is so okay, feed away, just make sure to do your main job, hunting down the victims! Leveling faster is never bad
Feeding is something that lots of people think isn't worth it, "just find them" and that's just silly, the definite knowledge of where the victims are is invaluable. Some matches you could not feed and be okay, but it doesn't hurt if you're feeding in a productive/time cost effective way.

When should I, or should I NOT feed?
-If you won't be leveling up grandpa, that's a real easy decision to make. Will I be using this time to actually get a full level? or am I just wasting my time, and potentially my team's time, feeding 26 blood to grandpa who is sitting empty. Don't feed if you won't be leveling, that's not hard to comprehend. There should be, and Almost always will be someone with a capacity over 100, and you should let them feed.
-If you are using perks that rely on blood capacity(such as vial-ent or blood runner), unless you have been looking for victims for minutes with no luck, and you would be putting grandpa to level 5. Other than that specific scenario, it's 9/10 better to keep your buffs, ESPECIALLY on Leatherface, Vial-ent is an enormous damage buff, and if you're lucky getting an early kill, that's a permanent 20% damage increase.
-If someone else, specifically Sissy or Cook, is being the one to feed, they have great blood gather intentionally, let them do that small part of their job. (side note, DO NOT take blood buckets near grandpa if you are not the one with the most possible blood gathering, unless, they are not touching buckets at all)
-If your team needs you to be doing something, such as valve exit shutoff or body blocking the fuse. This may seem obvious but it's important to note that you should not assume that someone else will just do it, especially in solo queue

All of this has been tested by just myself mostly, so all info and insight is welcome! Please correct me if I am wrong and help me keep this guide accurate! That is all, thank you, and good bye<3

it's been a while, haven't tested recently, believe it was 10% per level? I know that there's a grandpa perk that does I believe 10% more per level, reckon it's doubled^^

Great guide. Do you happen to know how much faster grandpa levels 2 and 3 speed up his screaming cooldown? Other than that its a very in depth guide.

its great to have the numbers on blood harvesting but one thing you got a tad wrong is the 'detection in shadows' thing grandpa gets at 4

'in shadows' is a survivor buff if they are crouched in darkness or in tall vegetation, it mutes their color pallete a bit as long as they are crouched in there. The other thing it does is whats at play here, it allows victims to move when grandpa is yelling. they must stay in shadows/vegetation and must stay crouched, but being able to move when most people think you can't can lead to some very confused family members.
