Intro
Hi, this guide is under construction still.

I was going to finish it, but it looks like no one cares. They would rather use a less detailed guide, so why put my time and effort into this? I spent about 8hrs yesterday taking a bunch of pics, but why waste more time processing when I could be playing? It remains as it is. No more updates as I'm not going to sink time into something no one wants.

If I get some more ratings I'll add the pics I took, otherwise I'm not going to spend time talking to an empty room.

🟢 - Uncommon Dye
🔵 - Rare Dye
🟣 - Very Rare Dye

The color dot idea came from a guide I saw by another creator, "C r i s t i n a". I don't do guides often, so idk if this was their idea or is common, but still citing my source!
How to Dye
After getting your dye, right click on it.

Choose Combine, and a new window will come up.

Drag the item you want to dye to the box available, then choose combine again.

Your item is now dyed!

When you play around you can get nice looking outfits like this:
Gloves, Boots and Cape are Black and Azure, Armor is Harlequin Black and White.
How Metal effects Dye Colors
In making this guide I have noticed that when using a rare (blue colored) dye that effects metal, if you next use a uncommon (green) dye that DOES NOT effect metal then the new dye will keep the old dye's metal color change while changing the fabric parts as effected. If the previous dye was a uncommon dye a new dye will totally over write it.

IF there was no previous dye and it is an uncommon dye about half the time it stays with the default metal color, but some uncommon dyes will effect metal color. The uncommon dyes the effect metal color do not stay if you use another uncommon dye, that is only the rare dyes.

As an example, this is Split mail in Undyed, Deep Lilac (rare), Green (uncommon) AFTER Deep Lilac, and then Green AFTER a dye remover (to reset it back to default) was used on the same item.

As you can see, metal was left the previous metal color bye the green dye. However, uncommon dyes reveal that parts we would have thought of as metal are not considered so by the dye system, and can be changed with the new uncommon dye while other metal accent parts stay the previously dyed metal color.

As an example, Undyed Splint, Deep Lilac (rare), then Light Blue (uncommon), Green (uncommon)

I also found that some Uncommon dyes have a effect on metal just like Rare dye. So far, those dyes are Purple and Red. With purple there is a slight purple tint to the metal parts now, where with red is the metal parts are brighter, boarding on white. Sometimes a dye will have an effect on the look of plate armor, but then has so far always been a partial gold look

This may imply that these two dyes were rare originally, OR that there is a bug in the dye system, since Red (uncommon) and White and Scarlet (Rare) show the same effect on metal and accent parts, though different colors for cloth/leather. Purple and Indigo dye also show the same on metal and accent parts, but different for cloth/leather parts.

Purple (U), Indigo (R), Red (U), and White and Scarlet (R).

Sometimes an Uncommon dye will have an effect on the look of only plate armor, not other metal on other armor, similar to a Rare dye. However it does not act the same way as a metal color from a Rare dye in that it stays after a different Uncommon dye color is used. Those colors are Green, Muddy Red, Ocean, Orange, Pale Green, Pale Orange, Sea Green, Swamp Green, and Yellow.

I tested all other uncommon dyes with all rare dyes and for all other uncommon dyes they will use the color of metal that was last present from it being an undyed default OR dyed metal from previous Rare dye.

I also noticed what I am sure *is* a bug, in that if you dye plate armor w/ an uncommon color if you un-equip and then re-equip it will sometimes change to a gold color for all the metal rather than the silver base when starting with undyed plate armor.

At this time I do not plan to detail all those look combos, but may add that later after I have finished the first version of this guide.
Dyed Undies
As I have now been informed that you can dye your undies, I will be making a section for those too.

My plan is to use each of the 30 dyes I have atm on each set of undies, modeled by the owner of each. I May use Astarion and Shadowheart for some gender swap pics, not sure yet. I do not have all Companions, as some died and others I have not ♥♥♥♥♥♥ yet, so this section will be unfinished until I get Minsc and Jaheira.

Also, I killed Minthara on this play through, so she will be missing until I get her on my Ebil play, unless someone who has her wants to take pics for me (I'll tell you my not-a-hack to get all the dye if anyone wan ts to help.)

Also, as a PG13 test, you can hide pics under the Spoiler tag!

This is insanely helpful, especially given how often the name of a dye fails to accurately describe what it is.

You can also dye underwear.
Myene  [yaratıcı] 8 Eyl 2023 @ 7:00
@Ethereal Haunting You should look closer then? Skin is mate black, more charcoal. Armor is usually glossy and has texture. At any rate, this is my main and who I'm using, sorry.

@Akaidu 100% with you. The difference in some colors v. the name of them is....odd. Wonder if someone is color blind, as not knowing that you are has caused animators issue sin the past (see Star Trek pink Tribbles)

Thank you all! I plan to do another update this weekend now that the work launch is over.

Using a drow probably wasn't the best idea there, as can't tell what's dyed black and what's skin..
Halo 6 Eyl 2023 @ 16:40
great guide! nice to see all the colors without dyeing and reloading saves. looks like the images for bloody plum is missing the simple robe though, it has hide armor twice

I have never commented on a community post in my life for any game, but you are putting in WORK and I appreciate you. I can't wait to see the rest!

You are a godsent! Liked, favorited and awarded, thank you!

Sometimes these dyes make no sense. I wish the game would let us preview the results before we use the dyes.
