By Helelo
Simple fix for the awful performance, until Fromsoft eventually fixes it.

Steps
- Download and install Process Lasso
- Launch your game normally through Steam
- In Process Lasso, right-click armoredcore6.exe -> Go to CPU Sets -> Always
- Check every CPU except "CPU 0"
- Press "Ok"

As long as Process Lasso stays launched, you don't have to redo it every time you launch the game. You might have to redo it if you reboot your PC entirely (to be confirmed, I dunno).

Alternative method (offline play)
First, disable EAC :

- Create a txt file named steam_appid.txt in the game folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON\Game" by default)
- Inside that .txt, type 1888160, save, close it
- Launch the game with armoredcore6.exe (not through Steam)

Next, while the game is launched :

- Open Task Manager, go to Details tab
- Right click on armoredcore6.exe -> Set affinity
- Untick all cores except UC 0, press OK.
- Tab back into the game (it will run like poop, it's normal)
- Go back to Set affinity again, tick all cores

You have to do the affinity thingy everytime you launch the game.
If you want to play online again, just delete the "steam_appid.txt" and launch the game normally through Steam.

mmaacio they just patched it, and fixed this issue for a HANDFUL of users, not fixing the issue at all, MEANING just because it worked for you means NOTHING to anyone else.

For me turning the RTX settings off stopped all the freezing and crashing

If you can live without online play an alternate fix that does not require process lasso is in the guides. I logged a support request with Bandai-Namco who eventually abandoned it. I suggest people just log the support requests. The problem is with the software as provided by BN.

Inder Singh hate to say, told ya so, but, told ya so. Hence the issue needed to be fixed, not remedied by an alternative app.

Oh my god this worked! I've been playing so far with a bypassed EAC to fix my stuttering issue but your Process Lasso method also works and now I can finally, FINALLY play online!

Thank you so much for this guide and including the Process Lasso method!

None of the fixes seem to be working for me. It's like it works for a few minutes then the game get back to stutter shitfest and very low FPS. I made a reddit post with screenshots/videos if anyone is willing to help. Thanks

It seems like this issue has been fixed with the last patch. Game runs normally for me even without Process Lasso now.

I wonder if they’ll ever fix this

A couple of notes-

1. I had to launch from a Copy of armoredcore6.exe rather than the original file for it to launch without EAC and not crash.

"ACCESS DENIED" -

2. The process Lasso method still requires you to do all the steps to Disable EAC (including launching from a copy of armoredcore.exe) or else EAC will still be on and you won't be able to play. If you try to do the process lasso method without disabling EAC it will say core 0 is "always disabled" but the currently running cores will still have 0 included because it will fail on permissions.
