This graph is kind of correct but it's oversimplified.

While the odds of disaster go up the more that you do it,
there's not a 1 to 1 correlation between the actions and consequences.

Realistically it would be more like a messy wave that approximately follows that line and also changes over time just due to random chaos in the world. ...among other things.
