Omschrijving
Dual-Media Filtration Plant
Dual-media filtration is a purification step that employs two types of filtering materials. Water is passed through these materials, which trap and remove finer particles, sediments, and impurities, resulting in cleaner water ready for further treatment.

How it works in game
This building functions much like a vanilla coastline water pump. It needs to be placed within 100 tiles of water. This means if you have polluted ground underneath the plant citizens will not get sick (like a water tower). However if the ocean is polluted, they will get sick.

This building is much more expensive to build and run than the vanilla water pump. But desalination has always been expensive.

Gold Coast Desalination Plant
This building is modelled from the Gold Coast Desalination Plant.

The Gold Coast Desalination Plant is a reverse osmosis seawater desalination facility adjacent to the Gold Coast Airport in South East Queensland, Australia. The plant became operational in February 2009. The project required an investment of $1.1 billion. The facility has a capacity of 133 megalitres per day and draws in sea water from an off-shore marine intake, 1.5 km to the east.
