How to play GRID 1 Online 2023

Back in 2011 the GRID 1 servers were suddenly shutdown on PC and PS3, thanks to Aibot these servers have been revived for PC and this guide will show you how to get online in 2023!

Editing the Windows Hosts File

In order to connect you will need to modify the Windows hosts config. You can find this in

 C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc 

Copy this file to the desktop and then right click to open it.
You'll see the following

 3.73.251.183 stun.us.demonware.net
3.73.251.183 stun.eu.demonware.net
3.73.251.183 stun.jp.demonware.net
3.73.251.183 stun.au.demonware.net

104.248.103.112 racedriver-pc.live.auth.mmp3.demonware.net
104.248.103.112 racedriver-pc.live.lsg.mmp3.demonware.net

Paste the code above underneath the local hosts section
Your hosts file should look something like this.

Once done save the file and copy it back to the etc folder and overwrite the previous file

Creating an account

After editing the hosts file you then need to make an account for the servers, (you will need discord for this step) join this server: https://discord.gg/fwkQmPGtfa and navigate to #bot-channel and paste the following into the chat "wh-register grid_pc" you should get a DM from the bot.


Once this appears create your username and if successful you will see.


Create a password and if everything is correct your account will be created.

Logging into Online

Run GRID and go to "Multiplayer" in the main menu


And head to "Online"



You'll be asked to sign in, use the credentials we made earlier to login and play!
You can choose between Ranked, Unranked and Private.

Important Note

This mod doesn't work with the DLC mod or any modifications made to the game data, the game will force disconnect you if it detects and mods installed such as
Broski's Improvements
DLC Coversion

Play!

Either create a game or find one, pick your cars and tracks and race!
