Closer Analysis Achievement Guide (ALL INTEL LOCATIONS)

I couldn't find a guide on all the intel locations in the campaign here on Steam, so I just decided to make my own. This guide is going to go through all the locations of the intel throughout the campaign.

Introduction

Before you even start the campaign to start looking for intel, there's a few things you need to know to make things a little easier.

First off, keep in mind that once you collect an intel, you never have to get it again, even if you die immediately after collecting it, and even after starting a new game (your intel progress will carry on, and will not be deleted if you start a new game). So don't worry about having to collect it again, just move on to the next one.

Second, the intel you'll be looking for looks like these golden tapes.


Keep in mind that some intel is missing in the screenshots ahead, don't worry about that, that's just me not planning ahead and forgetting to get screenshots beforehand.

Operation 40

First intel is found in the armory after you go up the stairs. You enter it right after Mason says "And today's the day we succeed". It should be on a crate, with an RPG next to it.

Second intel is found after you kill Castro, as you're escaping the villa. When Bowman regroups with you, go back into the room he just came out of. In that spare bedroom, go to the nightstand to find the intel on top.


Third intel can be found after you run down the hill with Woods and Bowman. Enter the first hangar, and go up some stairs. The intel will be at the top.

Vorkuta

First intel is found in the building where you use the slingshot, on a cabinet to the right

Second intel is in the area where shutter door comes down and you slide under it to get it open. Enter the control booth like you normally would to open it, head out, turn left, head under the stairs, and enter a small room. The intel is on a desk.


Third intel is right at the end of the mission. Before you get on the motorbike to escape with Reznov, check the shelf behind him to find the third intel.

U.S.D.D.

No intel in this mission, just move on to the next one (and I guess get yourself some snacks or something to drink lol)

Executive Order

When you enter the comms building, check the 3rd floor. The first intel is on a desk.

Second intel is in the control booth you breach into to stop the Soyuz Two launch. Check the control panels.


After you stop the Soyuz Two launch, enter the tunnels and make your way through them. Find the room with a portrait of Lenin. Stand in front of the portrait, turn around, and the third intel should be on a control panel.

S.O.G.

In the clearing where you take out two NVA tanks, head towards the back of this area where you'll find a storage area with artillery shells. The intel is in front of a white fuel drum, on some boxes.


Once you reach the area where you make your way down a hill and kick down barrels with napalm, stick to the left and enter the bunker in the image (it's the bunker under the left-most napalm barrel). Take a look inside for the second intel.


After you climb the hill covered in ash, enter the tunnel at the top, and before you exit the tunnel to continue the mission, check the shelves on the right for the third intel. There's an NPC stumbling in front of the shelves.

The Defector

After the you find Reznov, right before you exit the building, enter the security room on the right. The intel is on the desk.


On the street where you meet up with the allied APC, right before you turn the corner where it's destroyed, head into the building straight ahead before turning right. There are two cars in front of the building. The intel is on the desk.


After you take out the ZSU and enter the LZ area where you'll defend your position until evac arrives, find building with an opening in it's wall. It's next to the building with the DAK sign on top. The intel is inside, on a desk.

Numbers

First intel is in the room right where the mission starts. Before you go up the ladder, check behind you, and go into Clarke's work area. The intel is on a desk here.


After Clarke blows up his lab, check under the sheet metal overhang next to the weapon cache he uncovers. The intel is on the ground.


After Clarke is killed, start heading down to the end of the level. Count three jumps. On the third, you should see some windows looking into an apartment. Drop down one more roof from here and you should be on a red neon-lit sheetmetal roof now. Before you drop down to the end of the level, turn around to find the third intel.

Project Nova

In the building where Reznov says "He must be closer to the ship!", look for a map of America on the second floor. The intel should be right under the map, on the desk.


The second intel is in the hanger with the missile inside it. Head to the back of the hanger to find the intel in the office, on the desk.


Third intel is right at the end of the mission as you escape the ship. Before you go up the flight of stairs to escape, look right to find the intel on the ground, next to a metal door.

Victor Charlie

Once you reach the hut with the two sleeping soldiers, head out of the room where those two soldiers are, and turn left to find the first intel on the floor.


After you detonate the explosives and start the fight in the village, enter the hut near the first rat hole. The intel is on the floor.


After Reznov lets you take point in the rat tunnels, keep going further until you make it to a fork, where the tunnels branch off. From here, go left and keep an eye on the right side of this tunnel to find the third intel.

Crash site

First intel is found before you even get on the boat. It's on some crates to the left of the pier where you get on the boat to start the mission, next to a flaming barrel.


Second intel can be found as soon as you get off the boat, on the ground, on the right side of the trail leading towards the objective.


Once you reach the plane, make your way down into it. The third intel is right next to the rock, adjacent to the ramp you took to get down into the plane.

WMD

Once you reach the barracks as Hudson (the building where you plant the explosives), head down the first flight of stairs and turn left. The intel is on a file cabinet.


The second intel can be found in the comstat building, on the second floor. Walk across the catwalk from where you entered, and enter the orange lit room on the other side. The intel is on the bench next to the locker.


Once you reach the warehouse rigged with explosives, look for the third intel on one of the tables in the center of the warehouse. It's below the yellow beam on the ceiling

Payback

After you escape interrogation and chase after the Russian interrogator, you'll eventually enter a room with a waterfall on the left. Turn right as soon as you enter, and look for the intel on a shelf.


Before you enter the gunship to continue the mission, check the table near the tent for the second intel.


After you release Reznov, head deeper into the compound. In the next room, look for a generator on the left side of the room. The third intel is a crate, next to the generator

Rebirth

As soon as the mission starts and you kill the mechanic, turn left to find the intel, next to the container, on the ground.


The second intel is inside the experiment chamber. Do not shoot the Nova 6 canisters inside. Doing so will lock it down. I recommend killing everyone else in the room first, and dealing with the guy in the chamber last, try to get him out if you can to avoid damaging the canisters.


While playing as Hudson, make your way through this part of the mission until you make it to a house with it's second floor on fire (it'll explode as you get closer to it, setting it on fire). Before entering this house to continue the mission, turn right and enter a small kitchen. Note the kitchen is not inside the house, it's a separate building. The third intel is on a table in the kitchen.

Revelations

After you go through the first set of double doors, turn left, and go down the hall. The first intel is on the cigarette vending machine.


A little further ahead, exit the morgue and turn right into a red-lit deadend. The intel is in the trash can on the left side of the hallway.


After you the Soyuz Two flashback, you'll reach an office. The third intel is on a desk, next to 8 TV screens with Static on them.

Redemption

After you land and take care of the enemy choppers, look for a storage container on the left side of the deck, next to where you find the valkyrie rockets. The first intel is under one of the container doors, on the ground.


Once you enter the ship's interior and make your way down, you'll eventually enter a locker room, and then a control room immediately after. Check under the table with a kettle on top to find the second intel.


The final intel is found in the underwater station, after it starts flooding. You'll eventually enter a big room with a GPS map of the world on the wall. Leave this room, go up the metal staircase, and enter the next room to find the last intel under a desk on the right as soon as you enter.

The End

You made it! If you got all the intel in order and didn't miss any, the last one should have given you the Closer Analysis achievement! :D
