How to Create Autotiles - 3-part Video Tutorial
By Tommy Gun
Here's my 3-part series on creating autotiles! Each video has chapter links in the youtube description so you can skip around.

Part 1 covers how autotiles work (see diagram below), the differences between A1-A5, borderlines, counters, etc.
Part 2 shows how to create a standard seamless tile -- skip this if you already know how.
Part 3 shows how to make an autotile! Follow my order and it's dead simple, and you really don't have to worry about whether things will line up! I show some advanced Photoshop tricks to speed up the process, but you can also use simple tools like the eraser.

Part #1 - Color-coded Anatomy of an Autotile

NOTE: Steam is probably resizing the below diagram in your browser, so please save the file to see it full-size and to actually use it -- but you can download the tileset files from my site, and import them directly into RPG Maker VX Ace if you want: http://crackedrabbitgaming.com/guides/rpg-maker-vx-ace-tutorials/

Can tiles be a size other than 48x48, like 32x32 if you scale the whole canvas down, like with characters?

do any of the videos show how to make the program recognize them as an autotileset?
