  • Flamethrower and Fireball's damage over time is not accounted in the list.
  • Flamethrower's data is not accurate and its actual damage is lower. See flamer section for details
  • Fireball generates a flaming pool on the surface after it hits, dealing additional damage, this additional damage is not accounted in the list as well
  • Pump shotgun has an additional initial loading animation of 0.9s(manually timed, may not be precise) which is added to its reload time

  • Overall critical damage ranking
• Pistol
Shotguns are marked with blue

Weapons that can fire consecutively without reload for 8 seconds or more are marked with red.
Reload is not factored in in the Consolidated dps ranking for those weapons

  • The consolidated damage for M12 RPG which only have 1 round in its magazine does not factor in rate of fire, only damage and reload speed
  • Vulcan, Hel and explosives weapons' damage over time is not accounted in the list.
  • Vulcan's data is not accurate and its actual damage is lower. See flamer section for details
  • The game displayed incorrect damage value for Hel(600 dmg), possible due to it's complex charging mechanism. After field test it's confirmed that Hel's damage value is 900. (899 dmg per uncharged shot)
  • M95 grenade has an additional initial loading animation of 0.5s(manually timed, may not be precise) which is added to its reload time

Detailed explanation for the ranking calculation
The ranking aims to measure the damage performance of the weapon when you are firing it at maximum frequency, like when you are trying to kill a stunned warrior
  • Their damage ranking(Dps factoring reload or Consolidated dps in the image) is calculated this way: Dps multiply by Fire/reload

DPS is just damage x rate of fire.

Fire/reload is actually a "firing time ratio"
It measures what percentage of the time you are actually firing bullets in one cycle,
the cycle starts from when you started firing a fully loaded weapon, to when you finished the reload and ready to fire again.

    It's calculated as:
(Clip size / Rate of fire) / [(Clip size / Rate of fire) + Reload time)]

Clip size divided by rate of fire is how many seconds you need to shoot out all the bullets in the mag, that time plus the reload time is how many seconds you need for one full cycle, and firing time divided by a full cycle time gets the ratio or percentage of the time you are actually firing bullets
Why highlight weapons can be equipped with Laser Sight
because Laser Sight gives you a 10% damage bonus when a Recon is in your team
(Recon's Red is Dead skill makes revealed target receive 10% more dmg, and Laser Sight reveals target upon hit, which means you get 10% dmg bonus all the time)
And in Extreme and Insane difficulty you almost always have a recon in your team.

That means every marked rifle(except LEM Storm) can out damage the Kramer by quite a lot.
Heavy weapon ranking explanation
The ranking aim to measure weapons at maximum usage, the dmg performance when you keep your crosshair on your target and just keep firing at it and do nothing else.

The weapons marked with red can fire consecutively without reload for a very long time, by the time you are finally gonna reload, you are usually forced to disengaged from the target, like dodge away or run somewhere else. It's unlikely you are gonna stand in front of a Praetorian and shooting it non stop for half a minute like a chad.
In other words, reload would most likely to happen outside your dps window, making reload speed have no referencing value in the Consolidated dps ranking

PS: If your team has really good crowd control which practically immobilize boss targets indefinitely, then sadly this ranking doesnt apply in that situation as it would involve reload time like any other weapon.
EVA Laser not included
because there is no reliable data regarding it's cooldown rate and no way to calculate its overall dps accurately.
I estimate it has the lowest dmg among pistols. Probably only good for fighting synth when your team doesnt have a recon.
Two flamer weapons data being incorrect
Game shows incorrect data for their damage and rate of fire.

Field test result: Incinerator 600-700 dps, vulcan 1200-1300. Test are done manually so not very accurate.

However I'm not gonna bother correct their number with field test data, there's no point doing it because it would only ended up giving them even lower numbers while Incinerator already ranked last place in CQW. Vulcan may not be THAT far off but still take it's ranking with a grain of salt

Try not to dwell on it since the flamers are just not meant for single target dps, not just because their number is supposed to be lower than on the list but mostly because THEY CANT CRIT

@xaenyr Upon checking I believe it's all down to personal preference(or the fact that faster rate of fire weapon looks cooler).
Their dmg only has a 2.5% difference, they all use the same attachments, X43 has slightly longer range and 14% more accuracy. Although 14% seems like a huge increase, but that number shows the accuracy when you aim without firing. When you fire in auto and their crosshair spread reaches maximum, their accuracy becomes pretty much the same.

Hello,
if i understand correctly SMG's are subpar, but the M39 as the best number is that it? lot of people seems to praise the X43 wich is below M39 in theory, any reason for that? rate of fire ? clip size?

Make sense as drunkbunny said your damage increase as you level up prestige. Even though numbers are different but ranking for each weapon would be the same.
Also like he said the min max optimization wont be too important right now if you havent tackled Extreme and Insane.
This guide is most helpful to people who knows more or less about endgame builds and use this data to theorycraft and assist them in finding the best weapon suitable for them, rather than telling them which is best based on overall ranking.

If you are looking for a more generic guide showing you what weapons are best to use you can check out my other build guide https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3011377902

Worth noting that you get damage bonuses per level for the first 20 levels until you hit prestige.
I want to say at lvl 20 (or prestige lvl1-100) you will have a 50% damage bonus compared to a fresh account.

If you are brand new you dont need to min-max lol, you are playing on lower difficulties where frankly damage doesn't matter because everything is so paper thin that you will melt everything no matter what you use. So buy what you think looks or sounds cool and use all the free challenge cards to get 3x money/xp and you'll have everything unlocked in no time.

By the time you get to Extreme/Insane you'll know that a weapons base DPS in a vacumm isn't the most important factor because there are other limiting factors to take into account like attachments, class/build, player skill and use cases all impact their use.
For example the Pike might have the highest DPS of all the rifles, but other weapons like the Ballista Flechette kill runners at a faster pace etc

@lily40k It's up to date as there has been no changes to the weapon stats for years. Is it possible you are looking at the wrong weapon? I double checked just now Pike is 1485 dmg per shot
lily40k Jul 10, 2024 @ 3:41am
is this out of date? i see some stats on weapons dont match with the guide
like pike is around 1k dmage not 1.4k...
