SPOILER!!!! WHERE TO GET THE ANOMALOCARIS!!!

Do you want a Anomalocaris that can only be found at the end of the game and just has been added to the Marinca but cant fins it? of course you do! you clicked on this guide. this (not very) reliable guide will give you the information needed to acquire the first apex predator of the ocean!

(recent updates have now allowed this ancient shrimp to be caught in post game but still read the guide)

what is a Anomalocaris?

a Anomalocaris is a small extinct genus of radiodonts a order of early arthopods that lived during the Cambrian period and went extinct during the Great permain Extinction,

The Anomalocaris is 38cm long and was first recorded fossil was found in 13 September 1886 by a member of Geological survey of Canada named Richard G McConnell.

Specimens of Anomalocaris have been found worldwide spanning from Cambrian Stage 3 to the Guzhangian. Aside from the Burgess Shale and Emu Bay Shale, fossils have been found in the Chengjiang Biota, Hongjingshao Formation, Balang Formation and the Kaili Formation of China, as well as the Eagar Formation and Weeks Formation in the United States

The interpretation of Anomalocaris as an active predator is widely accepted throughout the history of research, as its raptorial frontal appendages and mid-gut glands strongly suggest a predatory lifestyle. In the case of A. canadensis, its outstanding size amongst Burgess Shale fauna also make it one of the first apex predators known to exist.

However, the long-standing idea that Anomalocaris fed on hard-bodied animals, especially its ability to penetrate mineralized exoskeleton of trilobites, has been questioned, with many recent studies considering it more likely that Anomalocaris exclusively hunted soft-bodied prey.

How to catch the Anomalocaris?

unlike the other fish in Dave the diver the Anomalocaris is a very difficult fish you can only catch due to it dying to using any source of damage but also it attacking you killing itself so there are 3 ways to collect them 2 ways before the ending and 1 post game (from what i have tested) being:
BEFORE THE END

1. The Steel net gun/ edium net gun: the net gun is the best way to obtain the Anomalocaris due to it is able to catch multiple of them and can keep you at a far distance to prevent them from attacking you and killing themselves. but will not work with the small net gun.

2. the steel net bomb: the less likely choice due to you needing to set them up you may not have enough time to catch them and you have a high change to screw up














POST GAME

1. Crab traps in a recent update has allowed a Anomalocaris to be caught in them and having only one location in the control room

where to find the Anomalocaris?

now after knowing how to catch one you need to know where they can be found. they are found both pre and post game in the divine control room but unlike any other fish that can be used as sushi (except for bosses) the Anomalocaris can only be found in 2 rooms of the Divine tree control room before finishing the game side by side. be warned these rooms are only accessible during the final act of the story and after exiting them there is no way to renter or collect the Anomalocaris after the story is complete with these rooms being the best way to get the most meat.

POST GAME:

in a recent update the Anomalocaris is able to be found before the story part of the divine control room in a little crab rock. BEWARED HOWEVER as this rock can only be used ONCE and give you ONE Anomalocaris so it will function the same as boss meat

what do you get from catching a Anomalocaris?

after you acquire the amount of Anomalocaris you desire you can only use the meat to create sushi of the shrimp. just like boss meat the sushi will be max level and will also give you more money on shrimp parties but it is not worth it

The recent update made possible to catch Anomalocaris with crab traps.
And they are in the Marinca now.

@Katred It is chapter 7. You will now that it is the final mission both because of the story and the game gonna say something like "you should finish other missions before going for the final boss".

You don't have to finish other missions tho. After you beat the final boss; you can keep playing the game and do other missions.
