Description

Sublustrum (or Outcry in English localization) is one of the best quest games I've ever played, with unprecedented atmosphere and narrative. I feel a bit proud of being acquainted with some of the game creators from Phantomery and even had a chance to work with these brilliant people (on entirely different projects and under different brand though).

I had an old archive with the game and managed to make it work on Steam Deck with the help of Proton magic and advises from my friend (a Linux guru). The old low resolution game looks very organic on a small screen of a handheld device. For those interested, below is a brief step by step guide on how to do that:

1. Add the game to your steam library as a non-steam game.
2. Set Proton 8.0 in game's Properties / Compatibility (I guess any latest version should work).
3. Install dxvk latest library for the game's Prototon prefix. I have used Protontricks GUI application to do that.
4. Also for the prefix enable virtual desktop with 1024x768 resolution ("run winecfg" or "change settings" in Protontricks gui menu).
5. In the game's launch options in steam write the following:
PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 HOST_LC_ALL=ru_RU.UTF-8 %command%

You can skip HOST_LC_ALL parameter if you are running English version of the game.
