Differences between Demo and Full Game:
Some assistance systems and the achievements are disabled in the Demo.
But the achievements from the Demo Content will unlock once you enter the World Map in the Full Game.

Intro
Before starting look into the keyboard configuration under Options and adjust the setting if necessary.

Mountain Pass
Escape the landslide caused by the earthquake in 10 minutes.
If you haven't changed the options to running, hold Shift (or X on the controller) to Dash.

The menu pauses the timer.
The Assist Mode will give you some perks but disables Steam Achievements.

You will lose Markus soon after you start running.
Mobs (drops): Mountain Rats (Crude Fur)

Mountain Pass - Cave
Items: Potion, 20 Gold, Apple

Next you lose James.

Mountain Pass
Last you will lose Claire... and Madilyn collapses.
But Hiro will join the party.

Gorogo
Items (Hiro's House): Fresh Tea, Cherub Down (wardrobe), Potion (table), Hiro's Bromide 1 (marked)

On the table in the library of Hiro's House is a Help Journal.
Checking clocks has a extra sound.
Check everything, you don't know where to find a trinket.

Take the Tea and look after Madilyn.
You can rest for free in the bed.

Head downstairs to end the Intro.
You can talk to Hiro's father about 4 things.
Leave the house.
Chapter 1: The Crescent Island
Gorogo
Items: Buckler, 20 Gold (Storage Shack), 20 Gold (temple)

You obtain 100 Gold.
You can restock items at the merchant tent.
Leave the village to the west.

World Map
Mobs (drops): Orc (Orc Tooth), Rat (Crude Fur), Snake (Snakeskin), Hornet (Hornet Stinger), Poppy Plant (Crude Fur, Plant Extract), Ice Spider (Ice Venom Sac), Imp (HP Potion), Lightning Wisp (Wisp Essence), Fire Wisp (Wisp Essence), Ice Wisp (Wisp Essence), Golden Snake (Snakeskin)

There are no random encounters on roads.
Each mob has 1-3 drop items with different chances.
To better your chances, use Winter's skill Steal.
You can sell monster drops as long as they have no icon.
Of course you can sell weak equipment, too, but I recommend to keep at least one of each type for a certain event in Chapter 3.

Golden Mobs have 10x the HP than the normal counterpart and can escape but drop more EXP.
Best use Stun or Sleep on them and get the Achievement "Smoke and Pancake?" for defeating one.

Mountain Pass (optional)
You can check how far the clearing has gone.

Town of Kaliko (optional)
Items: 20 Gold (wardrobe, house), 20 Gold, 20 Gold (temple, collection), Orange (weapon shop, table), Cherub Down (inn, wardrobe), The Screwdriver (inn, wardrobe)
Clocks: 2 (inn), 1 (tavern), 1 (Haunted House), 1 (Villager's house), 2 (mayor's house)

Visit the temple and Madilyn starts playing organ "When we first met".
Talk to Madilyn when you have explored the temple.

The item shop has some accessories.
The weapon shop has a practice dummy to test out skills and trying out all will earn you an Achievement later.
You can even destroy the Dummies with DOT.
You cannot destroy it but after some turns you can quit.

A night in the inn costs 10 G, but you can rest at home.
When you find the Screwdriver in the inn, you unlock your first Achievement "The Right Tool For The Job".

In the tavern you can buy some items and listen to rumors.
For the merchant in the north of town wearing blue you need a Buyer's Contract. This is not obtainable until chapter 4.

I recommend grinding and getting better equipment.

Frostbite Bar & Inn (optional)
Items (barrel), 30 Gold (Statue), Winter's Bromide 1 (marked)

Find the Gold in the statue to unlock your 2nd Achievement "Gold for Brews".
A night costs 15 G.
The tavern sells items and booze.
Check the snowman and then you can take a carrot from the Storage Shack in Gorogo to complete it.

Docks
Talk to the NPC and find 10 Gold in a barrel under deck of the ship.
Talk to the captain and he needs 10x Iron Logs to repair the ship.
If you have already found the Orange in Kaliko and read the list under Deck, Madilyn will offer him the Orange for 100 EXP.
Leave the docks and Winter joins the party.

Town of Kaliko
In the tavern you have your first encounter with LEGION. (If you don't encounter them here, this scene will instead play out on Crescent Island)

For the Side Quest solutions, see in the next guide chapter.

In the haunted house walk to the sparkling mark and when you leave the house, you start the Side Quest "Auntie Winter".

Talk to the Mayor in his house to start the Side Quest "The Prodigal Son".

Ask Yuri (item shop) for the Iron Logs.
Now a hidden area near the Mountain Pass is unlocked.

Dregmines Entrance
Learn how to climb at the cliff below the mine entrance and get the Silk Cloak.
Note that the Dragmines will be closed after you finish the dungeon!
Dregmines
Items (1F): Mana Potion, Dagger, Antivenom
Mobs: Orcs, Snakes, Rats, Poppy Plant, Hornet,

Push the first cart you come about and get an Antivenom as reward.

Items (2F): 20 Gold

Near the first chest pull the switch!
The chest on the other side of the collapsed bridge is a Monster-in-a-box: 2x Poppy Plant, Orc and Rat.

Items (3F): Cherub Down (hidden passage)

There is a hidden passage right east of the the natural spring.
Note: Natural Springs will restore HP and MP of the party. It can only be used twice.

Items (4F): Potion

Cliffside
First take the western cave entrance to reach the Blueberries and Scale Mail.
Proceed via the middle cave entrance.
Offer the Blueberries to the Vesper and he will open another cave entrance.
West you can examine the landslide and east is the shipment.
Save before you cross the bridge.

Boss Rat Mother: Depending on your Level let Winter steal from her and let the others defeat the Rats. Drops: Crude Fur.

You obtain Yuri's Shipment and return to the World Map.

Town of Kaliko
Deliver Yuri's Shipment and obtain 10x Iron Logs.

Docks
Deliver the Iron Logs to the captain and set sail.
Chapter 1: The Crescent Island Part 2
World Map
With this ship you can only sail on shallow waters.

Mobs on Crescent Island: Orcs, Snakes, Living Lava (Liquid Lava)

Ruins of Shalav Temple
Items: Madilyn's Bromide 1 (pot, marked)
Mobs: Zombie (Zombie Meat), Skeleton Warrior (Bone Meal), Bat (Bat Wing)

Right in front of the Dragon Statue you get ambushed by a Zombie and Skeleton Warrior.
Investigate the Dragon Statue.
Read the stone tablet to the west, BAHA RET, and defeat the Skeleton Warriors.
You obtain Tablet 1.
Read the stone tablet to the east, MUT URNS, and defeat the Skeleton Warriors.
You obtain Tablet 2.

Insert both Tablets into the Dragon Statue and speak: Bahamut Returns.
Winter will leave the party to go alone. Follow Winter through the newly opened cave entrance on the north wall of the temple.

Volcano
Items: Half Plate, Main Gauche, Iron Spear
Mobs: Flame Sprite (Wisp Essence), Living Lava, Legion Initiate (Antivenom, Legion Badge, can be sold),

After you have saved Winter proceed.
Once you cross the lower bridge, you will be ambushed by 2x Legion Initiate.

Boss Morris and Fluffy: Madilyn's Aura is life saving. Morris drops the Bronze Sword and 300 Gold. Fluffy has nothing and should be defeated first Pommel strike is useful here.

Escape to your ship in 5 minutes, and then the Crescent Island will sink.

Docks
Hiro leaves the party and you unlock the Achievement "The Crescent Island" and obtain 200 EXP.

Gorogo
The village is burning.
Hiro is alone, so search for his father.
Without Madilyn you have to use potions to heal.
Once you jump of the bridge, you will get attacked by Legion Initiates.

End of Chapter 1 and Demo.
Chapter 2: The Road to Revenge
Mountain Pass
Save the girl from the Legion Initiates, Hiro is berserk.
You start the Side Quests "Investigate the LEGION Hideout" and "Order of the Wind" (mandatory for the main quest).

Gorogo (optional)
Only ruins are left.

Town of Kaliko (optional)
Some dialogues have changed and NPCs have left.

Note: now you should have the skills to defeat the Golden Snake. As your free bed is gone, sleep in town.

World Map beyond Mountain Pass

In the item shop you can test a Dummy and buy better equipment.

You cannot enter it yet.

Pleasure Island (optional)
Items: Hiro's Bromide 2 (marked)

Casino with Bar, Theater, Dice, Blackjack and Slot Machines, Gift Shop and Inn.
You cannot save inside!
The bar sells items and the Gift Shop Accessories.

The Blackjack costs 10 Gold, get two cards and bet extra (max. 999 Gold) with Hit (extra card) or Hold (no extra card).
Win doubles, draw is house win, over 21 or lower than dealer is lose.
Highest possible reward is 1998 Gold - 999 Gold - 10 Gold =989 Gold

Slot Machine costs 10 Gold and you can see the payout there.
Highest possible reward: 500 Gold - 10 Gold = 490 Gold

Dragon Dice: set a bet (max. 999 Gold), 12-20 doubles the bet, 20 triples the bet, 1-11 the house wins.
Highest possible reward per game: 999Gold * 3 - 999 Gold = 1998 Gold.

If you have finished the side quest "The Prodigal Son" you will meet Marcus at the bar.

If you win 10x in a row of any casino games (you can save outside!), you will unlock the Achievement "Loaded Dice" and get permanently thrown out.

Giant Trees (optional)
The Crystal inside will block your way.

Jarith

There is a Farmer market, a church with Temple and Orphanage, a tavern.
A night in the inn costs 25 Gold and you need the Buyer's Contract to deal with the special shop.

Explore Amy's Flower shop and unlock the "Oh BEEhave" Achievement.
In the tavern obtain a Cherub Down for saving the owner earlier.

In the Orphanage trigger an event with Andy, wait 5 minutes and return there.
Talk to one of the children and start the Side Quest "The Missing Orphan".

To proceed see Side Quests.
Once you have done both required side quests, leave the city.

Giant Trees
Items: Bronze Sword, Spiked Shield, Cherub Down,
Mobs: Tree Frog Warrior (HP Potion), Wood Spider (Antivenom, Wood Venom Sac), Tree Hornet (Hornet Stinger)

The crystal has shattered.
The path starts linear.
At the first intersection head SW first for an extra scene.
South is a grave you should visit and SE to the next treehouse.

Fight the LEGION Blue Coats, steal with Winter because you cannot defeat them.

Winter's Nightmare
Walk forward...

Giant Trees
Items (Davos' House): Winter's Bromide 2 (marked), Apple (crate), Mana Potion (wardrobe),
Clocks: 1

Talk to Davos and you can now rest for free in his guest room which advances the story.
A couple scenes will play out, including a scene between Madilyn and Hiro. Choose to tell him your romantic feelings or to stay friends.

It is your choice if Madilyn will fall in Love with Hiro now or Winter in the next chapter or neither of them.
It will affect some dialogues and interactions as well the ending.
There are no achievements for your romance.

Talk to Davos again and obtain the Demon Stone.
You cannot rest for free here anymore, so leave.

Tower of Transference
Use the Demon Stone to enter and step in the teleporting array at the top floor.
Leave the tower.
Chapter 2: Road to Revenge Part 2
World Map
Mobs: White Wolf (Arctic Fur), Yeti (Arctic Fur), Winter Wisp (Destilled Wisp Essence)

Wolves can call their Pack = 1 more per call

Icedale Cave
Items: Full Plate (barrel),
Mobs: White Wolf, Yeti, Winter Wisp

Broken Bridge
Enter it for a scene and check the barrel.

Tower of Transference II & III
Your Demon Stone won't work on them.

Icedale Castle
Items (F1): Carrot (crate in the kitchen)
Items (F2): Life Crystal (Frozen Room), Davos Bromide 1 (marked), Mithril Knife
Clocks: 2 (F1)

Mobs: Ghost, Yeti, White Wolf, Frozen Skeleton, Frozen Potion Gnome

When you encounter a Frozen Potion Gnome, defeat it ASAP (or CC).

Pull the lever in the armory, read the notes in the office and barracks.
Note: Use the Carrot at the Snowman at the broken bridge... (you can do it again at the end of chapter 4 but not anymore in chapter 5).

After the kitchen defeat the Ice Chimera (Chimera Tooth) and Davos joins the party.
The Ice Chimera will regenerate.

You cannot leave the Castle until you find the Seal now.
Go upstairs and defeat the Ice Chimera (you get the drops only once) again and break the window.

Read the logbook, investigate the King, note the "fire" and read the letter (Davos will burn it).
Monster-in.a Box: 3x Winter Wisp
There is a Frozen Room you can find on the balcony of F2.

Save and enter F3.

Boss Azrael and Chimera: Davos has lost most of his powers and has only one Special and 6 Magic Skills left. The Chimera deals heavy damage so let Madilyn cast Aura each turn. Once the Chimera is defeated, Azrael gets a 50 turn buff.
The Chimera drops 900 Gold and Azrael drops the Mithril Rod and 500 Gold.

Escape the Castle in 10 minutes.

Once you have left the Castle, you will unlock the Achievement "Road to Revenge" and obtain 1500 EXP.

End of Chapter 2.
Chapter 3: A Quest for Lost Heroes
Auryn's House
Items: Potion (shelf), Hiro's Bromide 3 (north beach)
Clocks: 1

You take control over Winter.
Talk to Davos and Auryn.
Outside talk to Madilyn (1st choice is better).
Hiro is at the north beach (all options don't change anything).
Go back.

You take control over Madilyn.
Follow Hiro to the north and talk to him.

Hiro has left and Auryn has joined the party.
Hiro's equipment is in the inventory.

Now you can look into Auryn's diary.

Mobs: Field Crab (20 oz of Crab Meat), Cockatrice (Chicken Egg), White Wolf, Yeti, Ice Wisp, Golden Cockatrice (Chicken Egg), Enraged Orc (Ogre Tooth)

Cockatrieces can escape at HP < 15 % like the golden one.
3 Cockatrices: As long as 2 are still alive after 1 round, they merge to Mighty Chicken (1000 Gold, Chicken Egg, Hi-Potion, Chicken Leg, 600 Gold): Prepare to heal every round.

Walleye Docks (optional)
Items: 250 Gold (barrel), 200 Gold (wardrobe, villager's house), Carrot (crate, villager's house), Winter's Bromide 3 (Winter's Mom's House)
Clocks: 1 (weapon shop), 1 (inn), 1 (Winter's Mom's House)

If you can a carrot, you can complete the snowman.
In the weapon shop you find a Dummy.
Get to know Winter's real name (Abigail).

A night in the inn costs 100 Gold.
The first time the party will have nightmares.
Once you have control of Devos, walk to the right.

Visit Winter's Mom's Home, Winter stays outside, check Winter's room and find her Mom...
Now you have the chance to confess to Winter (your choice will override the choice from Davos' House) and start the side quest "Razing a Family".

Desert Bridge
You cannot cross, not even with the Writ of Passage.

Bridge to Fort Tetryn
Items: Hi-Potion (barrel), Apple (crate)

At the control point you obtain a Writ of Passage.

Ancient Cave System (optional)
Items: 500 Gold, Cherub Down,
Mobs: Kobold Warrior (Kobold Ear, Kobold Tail), Kobold Mage (Kobold Ear, Kobold Tail), Kobold Rogue (Kobold Ear, Kobold Tail)

Beware of traps!
All traps drop you to the same map.
The mobs are very strong and you might heal each turn with Aura.
The Rouge can steal from the party.
Stolen Items are lost, so use up stat increasing items!

To leave this place, walk over the bridge at the lower map (the one you fall to), pull the levers from left to right.

Touch the Idol after saving!

Boss Ice, Life, Fire and Death Elemental: Best defeat Life first (can heal) and Death (can kill) second. Against Fire and Ice you can use their weaknesses. Madilyn heals each turn, Crowd Control like Nightmare helps alot, then you can kill Death first. Life Attack will remove those debuffs. Drops (not 100 %): Ice Elemental (Essence of Ice), Fire Elemental (Essence of Fire), Life Elemental (Essence of Life) and Death Elemental (Essence of Death).

After your victory unlock the Achievement "Elemental Shmelementals" and Pearf Of Power.

Note: Keep the Essence of Fire!

Now you can exit (if you think you can't defeat them, you can reenter the fissure).

Fort Tetryn
Items:, Cherub Down (residence)

Currently the 2nd floor of the Inn is occupied but you can still rest for 100 Gold.
The guard over the tents has rejected Hiro.
You need a Buyer's Contract to deal with the special shop.
The Item Shop has new Accessories.
And the weapon shop a Dummy.

Enter the Order of the Wind to proceed.
Once you enter the basement, you get locked in.

Items (Order of the Wind Basement): Legion Badge (marked)

Move the crates and find the Badge.
Then investigate the Statue and find the secret exit.

Now re-enter the Order.

Boss Eidos: Winter should steal from him (Apple Cider, 1000 Gold, Mana Potion, LEGION Badge) and the others take care of the LEGION Red and Blue.

Sit on the desk chair and check the desk to obtain the Cell Key and unlock the Legion Camp at the Desert Entrance..
Free the Vesper in the Basement to obtain a Golden Spear.

Note: Buy one Ring of Superior Focus for Auryn (you will need it later)

LEGION Camp
Get behind the other rubble stash to change into your disguise.
Try to get through the guards to proceed.
The order of the scenarios is irrelevant, you need to finish all to get the last scenario.
Chapter 3: A Quest for Lost Heroes Part 2
LEGION Camp Scenario Davos
Before you enter the tent you stand at the beginning of the scenario, check the other tents to find 500 Gold, 250 Gold (barrel), Frostbite Private Reserve (no item, only event).
You need a Laughing Mask for the last tent at the east side.
You cannot enter the Yellow Jacket tent and the one left to it.
You cannot go NE or NW.

Win Blackjack in the tent near the entrance, no extra bet, only the 100 Gold per game and same rules as in the casino.
Win 3 times (you can save between the games) in total with double the initial each time, then defeat the LEGION Initiate and you can open the chest.
The chest contains either the Golden Lance, Golden Sword, Golden Knife or Goldenrod.
If you have not all of those in your inventory yet, you will get one of the missing weapons.

Now enter the tent you have begun the scenario and defeat the 3 LEGION Initiates.
With Sarah the Prisoner in tow try to leave the camp via the entrance.
Next try the NE exit.
Now you can climb the watchtower and proceed further east.
Defeat the LEGION Blue and Initiate.

LEGION Camp Scenario Madilyn
Check out the guard at the Intel Tent (one of the tents Davos couldn't enter).
Other guards talk about his drinking habits.

You cannot get the items Davos' has already plundered.
But Madilyn need a bottle of the Frostbite Private Reserve and can climb out of the window.
Bring that bottle to the guard at the Intel Tent.

Explore each tile in the Intel Tent to start the Side Quest "Hunt for Malice".
In case you mess up, you still can get it with the following scenarios.

Mess up the LEGION Response documents (Shut it down, locate to the south, reduce forces).
Note that Sloth Training will weaken all further Legions, but you lose the advancement in an event in Chapter 4; and that the Bright Colours are a fit with the Sloth Training, but still many Yellow Jackets.
You can change the letter until you check the dove that came in.

LEGION Camp Scenario Winter
Check out the sleeping LEGION in the NE tent to obtain the Laughing Skull Challenge Coin.
Use it to enter the Laughing Skull Tent.

Boss Laughing Skull Leater: You can paralyze him, when you need more TP for Steal. Drops Golden Dagger, Legion Badge, 300 Gold, Hi-Potion).

LEGION Camp Scenario Auryn
This scenario is only available once you have finished the first three.

Check any tent of the NW side.
Take the Waterboard.
Choose if you want to give the guard the waterboard or save the girl (if you haven't taken the Waterboard).
For the Save the Girl option you have to defeat both LEGIONS, with the Waterboard only one.

Enter all other tents, but you need help.
So return to your freed prisoners on the NW tent and recruit McMannus as the first helper and Irene as the 2nd helper.
Give them better equipment to increase their stats.
McMannus has skills of a level 8 Swordman.
Irene has the skills of a level 2 Swordman.

Start with the lowest tent and free the prisoners.
One of them is Magnus from Kaliko.
The other is Emilia.

Return to the first tent and readjust your party.
Magnus is level 6, wears 2 Daggers but has no skills.
Emilia has the skills of a level 2 Swordman.
Best change Magnus for Irene as the 2nd helper.

Enter the middle tent and defeat the LEGIONs.
Save Rex and Cid.

Return to the first Tent and regroup.
Rex has the skills of a level 6 Mystic Thief.
Cid has the skills of a level 2 Swordman.
Exchange Rex and Magnus.
Note: All prisoners should wear the best equipment possible now!!!
Enter the last tent and defeat the LEGIONs,
Save Laura and Alexis (yep, the Alex from the Restricted Library in Jardith).

You return to the first tent (you cannot change the party),
2x LEGION Blue Coat vs. Auryn, Laura and Cid.
2x LEGION Initiate vs. Auryn, Alex, Emilia and CId.
Save!

Help Rex: Defeat LEGION Blue Coat and Initiate, then Rex is part of the main party.
Save.
Help Magnus: Defeat LEGION Blue Coat and Initiate, then Magnus is part of the main party.
Save.
Help McMannus: Defeat LEGION Blue Coat and Initiate, then McMannus is part of the main party.

Boss Yellow Jacket: Auryn is alone, so hope he wears the Ring of Superior Focus against the Confusion. Even then he has no chance, so don't spend your Hi-Potions.

You return automatically to Fort Tetryn.

Fort Tetryn
Restock and talk to the all NPCs again.
Try to exit through the west gate.
In the inn talk to the guards at the stairs.

Now you have the chance to look at the Clock and right room, where you can find a Cherub Down.
Enter the council room.
There is a little trick here to get the best rewards.
First choose Auryn's Secret Way out.

Leave the Inn and enter into the house on the hill.
Investigate the Fireplace.

Mysterious Cave
Items: Antivenom, Ring of Protection (SE cavern), Gold Lined Cloak (NE cavern)
Mobs: Cave Spider (Antivenom, Black Widow Venom)
There are caverns to the SE, NE and hidden behind spiders to the SW.
First get the items from the eastern one, then follow the spiders.

Winter was abducted!
Defeat the Cave Spiders with fire and follow the kidnapper.
Save before you cross the bridge.

Boss Jorogumo: Like her Cave Spiders weak to fire and can paralyze with her webs. Also she can drain the HP of 3 random characters. She has the same drops and more money drop as her underlings.

Before you leave the cave, find a Life Crystal in the glowing cocoon.

World Map
Mobs: Field Sprite (Fairy Wings), Deathweed (Deathweed Juice), Enraged Ogre

Note: For the best rewards and story impacts, don't enter Raven's Keep and return to Fort Tetryn Inn.
You don't have to cross the Mysterious Cave again.
Chapter 3: A Quest for Lost Heroes Part 3
Fort Tetryn
In the inn tell the general that you have a change of heart and want to save the royal family.
Talk to the only man in the room (apart from your party) and get the Enlistment Papers.

Now you can cross the west gate without troubles.

Try to enter Raven's Keep and you set up camp.

You can walk throught the trees here (intented).
Talk to Davos and finish the talk when done.

Raven's Keep Castle

Your party gets split.
Madilyn, Davos and Soldier in one group, Auryn, Winter and Mason in the other group.
Mason and the Soldier are Swordman and have the skills per level.
Don't forget to optimize their equipment (Mason should use the Butcher's Blade).

Madilyn has to pull the lever in the room next to her, then change (C or RB) to Auryn to proceed.

Check the left statue to reveal a hidden room with Regen Amulet and Golden Shield.
Give the Regen Amulet to Winter, and remember that this party depends on items.
The kitchen is empty, so pull the next lever and change to Madilyn.

Madilyn can ignore the room to the right and proceed to pull the next lever.

Let Auryn look at the Clock and pull the lever in the armoury before going to the next floor.
On F2 defeat the Monster-in-a-box (Field Sprite, Deathwood and Enraged Ogre) and take the Hi-Potion.
Proceed onto the balcony and pull the next lever.

Madilyn finds a Radiant Dagger, crosses the balcony and pulls the next lever.
Proceed and both parties meet again.
You obtain the equipment of Mason and the Soldier back.
Give Winter the new dagger and prepare.

Enter the Throne Room.
Use the chance to look at the Clock and then save the royals.

You obtain a Life Crystal and can still look at the 2 Clocks in the Castle.

Raven's Keep (town)
Items: Cherub Down (accessory shop), Goldenrod (residence), 20 Gold (church collection), Hi-Potion (barrel, church),

Talk to the survivors.
Upgrade your equipment.
The dummy is in the provisory weapon shop.

The mother of the little girl in one of the burned houses is in the church.
Only when you have found the mother can you get the child.
Reward: Eternal Flame

Rest in the Inn before you proceed.
There are 4 entrances to the sewers and all go to the same map without barricades.
First let's get all items on both sides.

Mobs (Sewers): Sewer Slime (Slime Cube, Hi-Potion), Sewer Rat (Slime Covered Fur), Sewer Snake (Slimy Snakeskin)

First change the water level of Zone 2 and get the Cherub Down.
Next change the water level of Zone 3 and get the Ring of Superior Protection from Zone 1.

Next raise the water level in Zone 1 & 2 and bring Zone 3 back to default.
Now you can proceed at Zone 3.

Old Raven's Keep
Items: Mana Potion (pot), 5 Gold & Note (Barrel)

The purple water is poisonous, to avoid it if possible.
Both mobs can steal money (lost forever).

In the tavern you can restock in items or rest for 200 Gold
Give one beggar 10 Gold and obtain Smelling Salt.
Pay 50 Gold to the little girl and get the information about Hiro and the LEGIONs and the Big Door.

And yeah, the big door is your destination.
Enter the Wardstone Room twice!
The 2nd time defeat Johnny and Bonnie (they have nothing to steal) and obtain the Crystal Shards, starting the Side Quest "Helping the Poor".
Now leave Raven's Keep.

Western Cave to 3rd Seal

Chapter 3: A Quest for Lost Heroes Part 4
Sanchi Verde
Wardstone Conveyour Room
The party splits in Madilyn and Winter (west side) as well as Auryn and Davos (east side).
Solution is mostly quoted from the developer with additional findings from me.

  1. First, have Auryn's group ride the lower belt to switch 2. This can be hit now.
  2. Have Madilyn's group ride their lower belt to switch 1. Hit it. This will allow Auryn to traverse backwards.
  3. Switch to Auryn's group and go down, then right.
  4. Switch back to Madilyn's group and hit the same switch (switch 1) again.
  5. Switch back to Auryn's group and proceed to the right to switch 3. Hit switch 3.
  6. (Optional) Have Auryn's group look at the Clock, ride the conveyor north to get the chest with the Radiant Plate and check the hole in the wall. Switch back to Madilyn's group to hit switch 1 again to allow him to backtrack.
  7. Madilyn will need to again hit switch 1 to allow Auryn to go left (if she didn't already hit it for the chest) and then up.
  8. Have Auryn's group navigate left, then up (as stated above) to switch 5. This switch is optional, and will allow Madilyn to access a chest in the upper left corner of the map. Whether or not you hit the switch, jump in the pipe to emerge back in the center.
  9. Continuing with Auryn's group, ride the upper belt (highlighted in red) to the intersection.
    Switching back to Madilyn's group, finally head north.
  10. (Optional) If Auryn hit switch 5, she can ride the belt to the optional chest with Radiant Staff and then hit the switch to return.
  11. Have Madilyn's group hit switch 4.
  12. Back on Auryn's group, they should be able to proceed on the belt north that will take them to switch B. Hit this switch and go through the pipe to emerge in the center once again.
  13. Finally, with Madilyn's group head north on the orange highlighted belt to switch A. Hit it and take the pipe back to the center.
  14. With both switches A and B hit, the center conveyor will be reversed and the party will be able to proceed.
Boss Greater Stone Warden: Like the 2 Smaller Stone Wardens weak to thunder. Drops (Boss): Living Stone, Cherub Down, 500 Gold.

Proceed to the Antechamber.
From now one the Greater Stone Warden is part of the mobs.
The last memory will play automatically when you go throught the next door.

Items (Antechamber): Cherub Down, X-Potion, Deathless Ring,

The Monster-in-a-box is Winter Wisp x3.
The levers are irrelevant as the door has already been destroyed.
Save and prepare before you enter.

Boss Yellow Jacket & 2x Deathless: Let Davos first strengthen his magic and the cast Holy! Madilyn keeps the party alive. You can steal 5000 Gold, Hi-Potion and LEGION Badge from the boss. After 2x Holy the battle is interupted.
Phase 2: The Deatless have only the 1 or the remaining HP from before and the Yellow Jacket is fully healed. You can steal again! Reinforce will call 2x LEGION Blue Coat. But the Holy tactic is peerless.

But you will lose Auryn forever and Davos and Winter will leave the party.
Hiro will be the same level as Madilyn and you got all the equipment from Auryn back.

Walk back with Hiro, there are no more random encounters currently.
At the Conveyor Room, take the path through the hole in the wall.
Escape your followers.

Merchant Vessel
Clocks: 1

The sailor under deck sells items.
Talk to the crew (you know the captain and Rex) and last to Madilyn.
Madilyn returns Hiro's Headband.

Reward: Achievement "A Quest for Lost Heroes" and 20.000 EXP.

Chapter 4: The Parts we cast away
Tower of Transference
EXP will be gained for all characters, not only those in the active party.

You take control of Winter who follows Davos upstairs and is herself followed by a member from the LEGION (?).
With the Regen Amulet and HP-Potions, she should be ok.
Sarah will join the party with the same skillset as Madilyn.
Use the teleporter.

Humid Cave
Mobs: Cave Cobra (Cave Cobra Skin, Antivenom), Blue Ogre (Ogre Toe, Ogre Club, HP Potion)

First enter the left cavern to reach a riddle.
  1. Leave the cavern to reset the puzzle.
    Push the crates 1 & 2 up
  2. Push crate 3 to the side
  3. Push crate 2 fully to the east (4).
  4. Push the Blue Orb on its place.
  5. Push the Red Orb on its place.
Reward: new cavern leads to a Hi-Mana Potion.
To get out, reverse step 2 and 3.
You can jump withe Space (or X on Controller).

After your little showdown with Davos, head south first to get the Ring of Focus.

Boss Cave Dragon (Cave Dragon Scale, 1000 Gold): Ice II and Thunder II are great when enhanced. Sarah should heal and Winter steal.

After that battle, Davos returns to the party.

Merchant Vessel
You take control of Madilyn.
Talk to everyone and last to Hiro under deck.
Use this chance to restock on items again.
Rex will join the party.

Talk to the captain the set sail and obtain the Ship Wistle.
Note: Enter a Dock on Spyria and blow the Wistle and the Ship will come to you.
Press V or RB.

The Demon absorbs fire, so a change of weapon might be recommended.

Even the mobs in the Wastelands or SW of Ishtar Continent are probably too strong for the party currently.

Kaliko (optional)
Talk to a certain female NPC in the tavern with Rex in party...

Raven's Keep (optional)
The restauration of the town is underway.
Pay her 1000 Gold to not call the guards.

Sanchi Verde (optional)
You can return here via the teleporters near Raven's Keep.
The Stone Warden at the Entrance doesn't move anymore.
But you can still fight the other Lesser Stone Wardens in the streets.
The Inner Sanctum (Wardstone Area) is caved in.

Joseph Cline's Hideaway (optional)
Found on the island south of the Great Trees.

Gift the old woman in the residence next to the cafe an Apple x10 to obtain an Apple Pie (repeatable).
You can buy more Apples in the cafe.

If you have done the side quest "Pymgy Acquisions" then you will meet the former mayor of Astoria Bay at the pier.

Enter the NE residence to play Cultists & Catacombs.
The rules are similar to Dragon Dice.
Play the Cleric to make everyone happy.
You walk your figurines over the table map and roll the dice for Negotiation or Intimitation, you need to roll a 12 or higher to succeed or pay 100 Gold as bribe.
After 3 "wins" you reach the next map.
On the cemetry you have to fight zombies, as the (hopefully chosen) healer, you manage the surviving of your party.
Check all gravestones and last the mausoleum, where you roll the dice.
Inside check the sargophagus and roll the dice.
The Cleric has a torch.
At the doors you can roll a Lockpick check.
You can light 3 Brazers and the door to your destination will open.
Roll a Disarm check at the Coin Trap, even if you fail, you obtain 100 Gold but take 2 damage.
Survive the next battles!
If you fail, reload your autosave at the graveyard.
You cannot save during the game.

Reward: Achievement "Crypts and Cultist", Painted Miniature.

Your destination is the Hall of Transference, the stone tower nearby.
But beware, the mobs here in the wastelands are extremely strong.
Best trust Davos with Holy!

Your next destination is Birchwood Grove (remember, it's 4 days earlier).

Birchwood Grove

An elder woman tells you that Mr. Rutherford is in the cafe.
Only enter there when you have done everything else.

Only chance to train with the Dummy in the weapon shop and to look at the clocks.
You can ignore the locked chest, that is the same chest Madilyn has (probably) opened in the Ruins.

Next enter the cafe and talk to Rutherford.
Visit his house to proceed.
During the dinner you can ask him some question.

At night you take control of Davos.
In the kitchen take the Map to Boat and wake the others.
Try to leave and defeat the Werewolf (Werewolf Tooth, Werewolf Pelt) and White Werewolf (Werewolf Pelt, Werewolf Tooth).
Fight your way through the village to the house with the claw marks.
In the cafe block the window with the shelves and enter the hidden passage.

Items (Underground Passageway): Firestick
Mobs: Alpha Rat, Alpha Wasp, Confusion Alpha Bat

You end up in the Inn.

Boss Alpha Werewolf: Nightmare and enhanced Holy/Flame II are really helpful against all 3 Werewolfes. Sarah heals each turn and Winter steals 600 Gold, Werewolf Pelt, Werewolf Tooth.

Ivalice
POV returns to Rex who searches for a way out of the cell (you cannot save).
Check the mouse hole.
Don't get caught (run when icons vanish), take the 500 Gold and then enter at the point Rex has mentioned.
Check the Clock and steal the Ivalice Holding Cell Key from the guard.
Unlock the first cell to obtain your inventory and 20x Molotov.
Save and free the others.
Don't forget to equip them!!!

If you try to return to the hidden passage behind the guard, you drop the bottle and weak him up, resulting in a battle against and Ishtar Commander, Archer and Pikeman.
But you can try to escape via Rex Cell and reach the City Foundations.

Mobs: Alpha Rat, Dungeon Dweller (Hi-Potion, Hi-Mana Potion), Alpha Bat, Confusing Alpha Bat, Basement Potion Gnome, Alpha Wasp, Gelatinous Cube (Pile of Slime covered Junk)

Remember that stolen goods are lost forever and to defeat or CC the Potion Gnome ASAP!
The Gelatinous Cube will "eat" a random character, so keep his HP up! You can only steal the Pile of Slime covered Junk, but it can drop more like Scale Armour.
Proceed until you drop through the floor.

Catacombs 1:
Each misstep hurts a bit.
First push the minecart with the crystal a bit to the right so that is lightens up.
Cross again and push the crate onto the plate.
Push the first minecart fully up and cross over.

Catacombs 2
Again, here is the solution quoted from the developer, included some treasure names from me.
  1. Push crystal 1 into the light to see the path to the right. You may want to move it up or down a couple times to see the full path.
  2. Go right and push the block onto the pressure plate. This will open a path to the south.
  3. Move crystal 1 out of the way, allowing light to travel through the newly opened passage.
  4. Moving south, align crystal 2 to intersect the light, which will in turn hit crystal 3, sending light southward.
  5. The left side can be moved down freely to "scout" the path as you adjust crystal 3, but in the end you need to move it all the way to the right.
  6. Go south and you will see the light has intersected with a green crystal. Green crystals will split the light into 2 new paths, rather than 1.
  7. (Optional) You can move crystal 4 up and down to "scout" the path to the left. Doing so will allow you to navigate to a hidden chest with a Magical Plate.
  8. Align crystal 4 to intersect crystal 5.
  9. This area is a bit trickier, as there is no path to fully scout ahead. The player can slide crystal 5 around and progress a bit, map out what they can see, then move back to readjust the crystal. Ultimately, the crystal needs to be pushed all the way to the right.
  10. Moving up the path, ensure crystal 6 intersects with the light. This will send the light into crystal 7 and split it in two paths.
  11. Move forward to crystal 8 and adjust the position into the top left corner. This will send light downward.
  12. Travel south to crystal 9 and adjust it into the top right position. This will send light to the left and allow you to see to reach the next crystal. Be mindful of the edges.
  13. Move left to crystal 10 and intersect it with the light. Your next stop will be crystal 11. To intersect properly, crystal 10 needs to be in the bottom left corner, but you can side it up and down a bit to map out the path first.
  14. Moving to crystal 11, put it in the top left corner position. This will send light downward.
  15. Backtrack towards crystal 9 and move along the path to the right to crystal 12. Be mindful of the edge here and slide crystal 12 into the top right position. This sends light to the left.
  16. Carefully move to the left to reach crystal 13. Slide it into the bottom right position, which should send light downward.
  17. Travel south to the final crystal. Slide crystal 14 all the way to the left to intersect the light beam. You can move it freely up and down to scout the path ahead. Reach the ladder to escape the catacombs.

You are back at the City Foundation.
  1. From here, head north. The City Foundation has a series of ladders leading to underground paths. From this point there are two ways you can take.
  2. (Optional) Path B will take you to an area with a few items like Cherub Down and 2000 Gold, a Clock and a lost girl. You can choose to take the girl Winefred with you to help guide her out of the dungeon. Note success or failure doesn't matter if the girl becomes knocked out. In combat she is mostly useless. Although she can be used to an effective degree to use items such as potions on party members, or molotov cocktails on enemies.
  3. If you took path B, backtrack. In front of Path C are 2000 Gold in a barrel. Take path C to the north and collect Hi-Potion, Mana Potion and 2000 Gold x2 (barrel to the north & barrel south of fake wall).
  4. (Optional) To the northeast of here, you can take path D to reach a chest with the Ruby Earrings.
  5. The way forward is obscured by a false wall. However, light shines through it, as well as a carpet, giving the player a hint that the wall is passable. Navigate to section E, look at the clock there, and take the passage at path F to the north.
  6. From here, simply go right, gather Icetongue and take path G to the right.
  7. The exit is locked. To progress from here, head right to the next area.

Only enter Cid's Airship after you are prepared.

During the trial, depending on your choices about Winefred, or if you have tried to cross the Ishtar Blockade in the Desert, everything will be judged.

Killing the guard in the jailbreak = guilty
Saved and helped Cid in the LEGION Camp or with the Airship = innocent
Liberating Raven's Keep with the Amorians = guilty

If you are found guilty, Irene from the LEGION Camp will bail you out.
If you are found innocent, Irene will talk to you outside.
You obtain the Royal Credentials.

You can rest for free in the church - only to pay a donation of 500 Gold.
Magnus can be found in the Slums Inn which also costs 500 Gold per night.
The Inn in the Noble District only costs half.

You cannot sell your loot in the slums.
And depending on the path you take, you will meet hoodlumps, hoping for 100 Gold protection money but it is better to get rid of those Thugs (300 Gold, Coin).
Pay the blond NPC in the last house to the south 10 Gold and he tells you about the Behemoth Forest, the area SW of Istar, where you can encounter Behemoth.

The accessory shop in the Noble District has new stock.
The weapon/armour shop has new stock and a Dummy (+ Achievement "Dummy Up" at the earliest)

In the Order of the Wind Madilyn obtains the letter of Excommunication.
Outside you meet Reginald Wessex and start "The East Ishtar Trading Co" side quest.

You can go outside to grind for money.

Once you are prepared, talk to the King, who knows that you have stolen his money...
You obtain 2x Royal Summit Invitation.

Talk to Winefred father next to the king and if you have saved his daugther earlier you will obtain a Life Crystal.
Once you leave the throne room, Hiro start the "ALink to the Past" side quest.

Raven's Keep
Deliver the Invitation to the King.

Jardith
Talk to the guard to the castle to meet the Queen and deliver the Invitation.
Now you can enter the throne room anytime.

Ivalice
Talk to the King to proceed.

The Golden City Ruins
The POV returns to Sarah at the final Seal.
Talk to Winter and Davos.

Then hold of the Stronger LEGION (1000 Gold, LEGION Badge, Antivenom) with Winter until Davos give the signal to retreat (5 minutes). There is a nice tile next to a trap the LEGION can't walk with you in the way.

You take control of Winter.
Save and head to the bridge to proceed.

Boss Morris Redux: The enhanced Holy or Nuclear tactic is still working on taking out the Stronger LEGIONS. Those protect Morris, who is immune to CC, from all damage. He will summon more Stronger LEGIONS when the first ones are defeated. Try to steal 5000 Gold, Hi-Potion, LEGION Badge and Hi-Mana Potion from Morris before he escapes and ends the battle.
Chapter 4: The Parts we cast away Part 4
Ivalice
The Summit is starting.
You can choose a side or neither (my recommendation).
At the point of the Aid Package, best side with Amoria.
Next the LEGION Book will make an appearance (if you have taken it with you earlier)

Note: The better the negotiation goes, the better their help later.
Like 2 less encounters for both the slums (Amoria) and noble district (Ishtar) and in the center (Buyer's Contract) in Ivalice.
Also some more troops will appear from both factions and some banter between General van Hausen and Alexander.

Winter returns to the party, Sarah is in her room and Davos is in the Prison.
Talk to Davos in the Prison.
Talk to Sarah and meet her in the Prison later.
The party is complete with two extras, Rex and Sarah.
Leave the prison and observe the guards.
Watch their movement don't be seen.
The path over the right side is easier and it is possible to go there unnoticed.
Enter the door next to the stairs.

Sarah will unlock the City Foundation.
(Last chance to look at the 2 Clocks down there).
Enter the storage where Cid and his Airship wait.

Airship
You can rest for free under deck and shop at a normal East Ishtar Trading Company kiosk (no unique items)
Find 3000 Gold and a note at the statue.
Find a Diamond Dagger in the engine room, where Rex is working hard.
Talk to Cid on deck to start your adventure and grant the ship a name (in my case The Firefly).

Temple of the Source
Cid, Rex and Sarah stay on the Airship.
Equip Deathless Rings and enter the Antechamber.

The Earth Guardian is special, it is highly resistant to all elements but weak to the Runic Blade and Diamond Weapons! Poison will heal it.

Check the statues, some will attack you.
The riddle solution will be quoted from the developer again.

The Antechamber of the Source contains a riddle in which the players are expected to examine 3 colored statues. The statues make statements. A tablet in the central northern area explains that one statue always tells the truth, one statue always lies and one can do either.

Based on this information, the players have to determine which colored statues are which.
To paraphrase:

The Paladin always tells the truth
The Illusionist can tell a truth or a false
The Assassin always lies
The statues individual statements are as follows:
Green Statue: I AM THE ILLUSIONIST
Red Statue: BLUE SPEAKS TRUTH
Blue Statue: I AM THE PALADIN

Based on this information, you will need to sus out who is who. 3 colored switches are on the northern wall and are used to set who the player thinks is who. When you feel you have set the switches correctly, test it with the yellow switch on the far right. If you are correct, the path forward will open.

SOLUTION
Blue is the Paladin, he has told the truth. Red is the Illusionist, but has chosen to tell the truth. This leave Green as the Assassin.
Explanation: If we assume blue is the paladin as they claim, red cannot be the assassin or else they would lie about blue. That only leaves the illusionist. It also means green has lied, making them the assassin.
If we assume blue is the assassin, red could possibly be the illusionist. But that only leaves green to be the paladin, and they claim to be the illusionist. So that combination is invalid.
Finally if we assume blue is the illusionist, red could possibly be the assassin and covering for blue's lie. They can't be paladin because blue would have lied. But once again, green claims illusionist. Nobody claims paladin. So this combination is also invalid.

Touch the yellow Crystal to proceed.
On the next island first touch the lower, then the upper and last the Crystal in the center.

Leave the cave to the south and touch the next crystal.

Touch the last crystal to return to the Source.
Prepare before you enter.

Read the mural.
After your first confrontation with the source, let Madilyn talk to the others.
Talk to the source again to proceed.

Boss Demon Madilyn: Her first attack will lower the MP of the party to 1 and Winter will use one Hi-Potion on Hiro. Weak to holy, so Enhance + Dualcast + Holy is app. 5000 HP damage. After some damage Madilyn will cast Aura II on the party (at 66% and 33 % of her Max HP).

Landing Place of the Airship
Get to know the party member better.
First Rex & Davos, then Cid & Sarah, next Hiro & Winter

Before you head to the Devil's Maw, time to fly and do more optional stuff.
Reward: Achievement "The Past we cast away" and 40.000 EXP.
Chapter 5: The Irresistible Force
Icedale Broken Bridge (optional)
Land east of the bridge to reach the Mirror Shield.

Seal of the Sun Renevant (optional)
Enter to add the side quest "The Sun Renevant".

Cave of the Moon Renevant (optional)
Jumping in here starts the side quest "The Moon Renevant".

Ivalice (optional)
The castle is closed for war preparation against LEGION.

Locations like the Desert Bridge and Istar Blockade are gone.
You cannot return to the Temple of the Source.

Recommendation:
  • Get at least 2 more Conservation Codexi - one for Sarah and Davos each.
  • If you have messed up with the clocks, get a 3rd one from the Behemoth Forest for Madilyn.
  • If you have done the East Ishtar Trading Company Quest, buy each unique equipment at least once.
  • Also restock on Items with them or at the item shop in the noble district in Ivalice.
  • Have the best Gear from Ivalice.
  • You don't have to reach the level cap of 50 yet.

Devil's Maw
Defeat the Chaos Spellslinger (Scroll of Flame, Scroll of Blizzard, Hi-Mana Potion) and Chaos Bruiser (Shuriken).
After your crash landing Sarah and Rex will protect Cid and help with the repairs.
Remember that you can rest for free and buy items on the ship.

Mobs: Golden Chaos Bruiser (Scroll of Esuna), Chaos Healer (Scroll of Esuna), Chaos Bruiser, Chaos Spellslinger, Demon Potion Gnome (Hi-Mana Potion, Hi-Potion), Chaos Reaper (Cherub Down)

Defeat the Demon Potion ASAP or use CC.
Only the Reaper has death spells and all Demons are weak to holy.

LEGION Fortress
Items: Hi-Mana Potion (barrel at east building), Scroll of Esuna (west building), X-Potion (west building)

A LEGION member in red hides next to the first east buidling from the entrance and sells the same items as the shop on the airship.
At the 2nd floor of that building listen to a conversation between a Blue Coat and a Demon.
Investigate the Corpse of the Blue Coat and obtain the Bridge Pass and Cell Key.
Then Defeat the Chaos Healer and Spellslinger.
Don't forget to get the Vampyr Dagger from the roof.

On the roof of the west buiding, push the crate one tile up, fully left, the down and left again to obtain the Iron Claw.

Now you can cross the bridge with the Bridge Pass.
Once you are caught, you will be attacked by the Chaos mobs (same as on the World Map except the Golden one).

Before you enter the Building after the bridge, collect Davos' Bromide 4, Demonscale Mail, X-Mana Potion,

The Monster-in-a-box are Earth Guardian, Fire Guardian and Storm Guardian.

In first building after the bridge, the Prison, release the Triumvirate with the Cell Key for a better outcome later.

Walk over the wall and reach the northernmost building and save once you reach the first floor.
You are ambushed by Chaos Bruiser, Chaos Spellslinger, 2x Demi and a Mist Monster (Hi-Mana Potion, 136 Gold).

Leave the building and head NE.

The Dark Citadel
Watch your step, the purple water is poisonous.

Items (1F): Demon Plate, Diamond Earrings
Items (2F): Hiro's Bromide 5
Mobs: All mobs from the World Map except the Golden one, Mist Monster, Demi, Succubus (Hi-Mana Potion)

The direct path is blocked.
To the west is a teleporter crystal to 2F.
And to the east is a teleporter crystal to 3F.

At 3F you can directly reach one of the Barrier Energy Cores that will deplete Madilyn's MP to shut down.
Use the other teleporter, collect the Bromide and go downstairs to 1F and use the NE teleporter to 2F.
You come across the first destroyed barrier and the next Energy Core which depletes the HP of Winter.
Enter the balcony of F2 and find a Shell Ring and the next Energy Core which depletes the MP of Davos in the west and a Demonscale Cloak and the next Energy Core which depletes the HP of Hiro.
Go back in and find the next Energy Core to the NE which depletes the HP and TP of all characters.
Head back to 1F and obtain the treasures.

Head to the 3rd floor and prepare/save.

Boss Chaos General: Get rid of his minions ASAP. The boss drops Shield Stone, 900 Gold, Smelling Salts.

Without pause you enter the next battle.

Boss Azrael: Get rid of all her minion ASAP (they will come until her buff is gone). Weak to holy. She drops Scroll of Flame, Scroll of Blizzard, 10.000 Gold?

The party will part ways.
Hiro and Winter will return to Ivalice with Cid and the Airship while Madilyn and Davos enter Bahamut's Domain.
Chapter 5: The Irresistible Force Part 2
The Realm of Bahamut
Mobs: only the Chaos Demons will appear.

Touch the blue crystals to teleport.
Press the orb to reveal more stairs and proceed on that side.
The northern teleporter brings you to a hopping chest.
Release Nubtip and obtain a new party member and unlock the Achievement "Confined Spaces".
Return and take the new stairs to the next teleporter.
First get the Ring of Ultimate Focus at the west, then use the next teleporter.

Take the Apocalypse Blade, press the orb and take the teleporter further west to reach Madilyn's Bromide 5 and Vampyr Spear.
Teleport 2x back and press the now reachble orb.
Take the southern teleporter again and his time walk west until you reach the 2nd teleporter.
Proceed from there.

Save before you climb the stairs with the Gargoyle Decor.
You lose Nubtip...

Boss Bahamut: Gaia Shell is a must have buff. Weak to holy, so enchant + dualcast + Starlight will deal much damage. He can drain the MP of the party, so replenish them with Elixirs once fully depleted.

Ivalice
Note: Remember my notes during the summit?
Those take effect now!

Quest: Help secure the Slums by defeating 4 groups of Demons (Including the random encounters).
But you can still defeat all!
First check your gear and heal up.
Find Winter's Bromide 5 near the inn and unlock the Achievement "Collector".
One of the NPCs here is Magnus.

Quest: Help secure the Central District by defeating 4 groups of Demons (Including the random encounters).
One of the NPCs is McMannus.

Quest: Help secure the Noble District by defeating 4 groups of Demons (Including the random encounters).
Save!
You only have one chance to save the RPG Players from Doveport at the top northern house and unlock the Achievement "Fireball! Fireball! Fireball..?"
When you are near the item shop, Alex and Page will appear.
Directly after your 4th encounter the mid boss appears.

Boss Nega Morris: Get rid of his Minions ASAP and steal 5000 Gold, LEGION Badge, Hi-Mana Potion and Hi-Potion from Morris.

Confront Bahamut in the Slums, then return to the Noble District near the Order.
Last he lands on the church in the Central District.

Boss Bahamut: without the holy element and Gaia Shell you have to depend on your skills. Combos of Thorn and Thunder Strike or Quadslash as well as Provoke, so his single hit skills will more likely hit Hiro and not Sarah, who should heal each turn! He has no drops as Gaia Blast will end this round.

All allied Kingdoms will unite and finally Madilyn and Davos appear and revive the others.
With your main party confront Bahamut again.

Boss Bahamut: After her transformation heal once and then cast Gaia Shell. Then use the Thorn + Quadraslash, Provoke + Inner Focus + Thunder Strike, Enhance + Dualcast + Starlight again. Madilyn pends between Aura III / Gaia Shell / Starlight.

Temple of the Source
First board the Airship to rest and restock on Elixirs!
Then head directly to the Source.

Final Boss Bahamut: You have to defeat the Demi before Madilyn can hurt him. Remember to cast Gaia Shell on yourself. After the first Gaia Blast, Hiro appears to help. Some turns after the 2nd Gaia Blast Winter appears. Once the 3rd time Darkness is formed, Davos appears. After the 4th Gaia Blast a new skill will appear: LEGION as One, which deals high damage and applies several debuffs. But it is still possible to win before the next Gaia Blast.
Epilogue and Postgame
During the Epilogue, who the Narrator is and what happens to some other NPCs and Characters changes depending on your action.
Have you saved Andy during the Missing Orphan side quest, he will be the narrator.
Otherwise if you chose a relationship path with Hiro, the narrator will be named Rygar after his father. If you chose a relationship path with Winter, the narrator will be named Kit if you completed the side quest "Auntie Winter". Otherwise, the narrator will be named Fayte after her childhood friend. If you chose neither and remained friends with them all and didn't finish the Missing Orphan side quest, the narrator will be named Davos after their lost companion.

Sarah becomes Queen of Ishtar.
Joseph Cline moves into Auryn's House.
Rex takes command over the party's (pirate) ship.
Winter returns to her mother to the now springy Walleye Docks.
Davos returns his power to the Source, the main party is witness, dying and meeting again with his old friends in the afterlife...
Madilyn takes command over the Order of the Wind including Reformation and Reparation. The East Ishtar Trading Company assists her if the player completed their side quest.
Hiro reports the situation either at his father's grave or at his parents grave in Bredon if the player completed "A Link to the Past" sidequest.
The rulers of the 3 nations will address the people. The ruler of Amoria will depend on if the player chose to help the monarchy in chapter 3 or not.
Alexis has left her library with Paige, reading the new story of Joseph Cline.
Winefred, her father and General Alexander explore the Dark Forest.
Magnus has brought his father to a tavern.
Cid takes over the reconstruction of Raven's Keep and Old Raven's Keep

You can skip the credits.

After the last scene you unlock the Achievement "An Irresistible Force".

In the Post Game, all missed side quests will be added and can be completed now.
Side Quests
Even if you don't finish all Side Quests during the main game (some can only be finished until the main story progesses to a certain point), in the post game you can finish them again.

Auntie Winter
Buy the Pretty Dress of the Item Shop (25 G) for the ghost kid Kit of the hunted house.
Enter the haunted house and defeat Bonnie and Jonny.
Check the cemetry.
Reward: Kit's Bangle and Achievement "Auntie Winter".

The Prodigal Son
Explore the mayor's house and find
  • Storybook
  • Dogtags (don't forget to pet the dog)
  • "Lord Tubbington"
  • Don't take the letter with you!
Head to the Frostbite Bar & Inn and talk to the only one standing.
Show him the items you brought with you.

If you have the Letter with you, then you have to defeat Markus, who drops 20 EXP, 5 Gold, Mama's Special to Go Juice (100%) and Mana Potion (50%).

Bring him home.
Reward (peaceful): 500 G, 100 EXP and Achievement "The Prodigal Son".
Reward (forceful): Achievement "The Prodigal Son".

Pygmy Acquisition
Hunt the Pygmys on around the Tower of Transference or the beach to the SE and obtain 6x Pygmy Spear and 6x Pygmy Mask from their drops.
But don't understimate them, as they appear in groups and can heal themselves.
All other drops can be sold.

Deliver the drops to the mayor and talk to him again.
Talk to the mayor last and then to the Pygmy.
You can either try to give them their stuff back or fight it (no further consequences).

Boss Pygmy Chief: Get rid of the other Pygmys first. The Chief has only gold to steal and can be poisoned.

Reward (Peaceful): Achievement "Pygmy Acquisitons", 500 Gold, 500 EXP. Astoria Bay has a new mayor.
Reward (Battle): Achievement "Pymgy Acqusitions", Pygmy Chief Spear, 500 EXP. Astoria Bay has a new mayor.

The missing Orphan
Investigate the Orphanage and find a hidden switch in a cubboard.

Boss Orphanage Demon: Steal/Drops 150 Gold, Mana Potion. The most dangerous it the AoE Sleep spell.

Investigate the room, find the skeleton, the blood jars and a book.
Read the letter and a cave north of Jardith will be unlocked.

Items (cave): 100 Gold
Mobs: Demonic Cannibal (Zombie Meat), Ghost (Ghost Essence)

Taking the left cavern brings you to a Monster-in-a-box with 2x Ghost.
At the next intersection take the northen one first.

Boss Belthus the Eater: Steal/Drop: Butcher's Blade and 250 Gold.

In the Soulstone you have two choices.
  1. Save Andy.
    Reward: Achievement "The missing Orphan", 500 EXP and Andy returns to the Orphanage.
  2. Keep the Soulstone.
    Reward: Achievement "The Missing Orphan", Soulstone, 500 EXP.

Note: your choice has an impact on the story and Madilyn will learn Revive later.

Investigate the LEGION Hideout
Enter and investigate the run-down-shak right west from the entrance to the Jarith city wall.
Find the LEGION Outfits (chest) and ladder.
Enter the sewers in disguise.

The guards at the fence tell you about blue coats.
The guard further east won't let you proceed.

Via the maintenance shaft you can reach a room to the SE.
If you head to far west you will raise the alarm, but you can enter the Break Room behind the gate there where you can find another maintenance shaft...
So at the crossing head north and east and find a Cherub Down.
Last go near the blue coat guard that will raise the alarm.
Defeat him (he has a HP Potion) and get the Blue Coat.

With the Blue Coat you can enter the maintance shaft in the Break Room.
Take the exit to the NW and read the Love Letter to unlock the Achievement "Forbidden Romance".
Head south and first check the maintenance room.
Read the scroll and unlock a hidden location in the forest south of Jarith.
Take the Potion and The Legion Book.
Climb into the 3rd maintenance shaft after you got rid of the guards.

Save and proceed.
You will fight in the water against more Legions.
Once you are save, you unlock the Achievement "Investigate the LEGION Hideout".

Order of the Wind
Enter the building.
In the Library find Madilyn's Bromide 2 and talk to James.
While Madylin is with the Triumvirate, explore the library again, but you won't get permission to enter, so leave.

Back in the Library (restricted section) take the books with Capital Letters and then lay OPEN at the top row and enter the secret passage.
Fight the Paperdragon Paige, aka ??? (HP Potion, 15 Gold), which throws with debuffs until it got called back.

Check all Bookshelfs not marked with a red lightning!
Find 50 Gold in a barrel.
Take the Book about the "Silver Swordman" to start the side quest. (missable)
Last check one of the red lightning bookshelfs to proceed.

Leave the Order and obtain the Achievement "Order of the Wind".

The Silver Swordman
Clues Chapter 2:
  • Talk to the little girl in the Jardith Park and get the clue "Joseph Cline".
  • In the tavern of Astoria Bay talk to one of the NPCs to get the clue "Gorom"
  • Talk to the frog loving kid in Kaliko
  • The little girl in the Frostbite Bar & Inn.

Clues Chapter 3:
  • The costumer in the item shop of Walleye Docks (#187 - Space Ninjas from the 8th Dimension).
  • One Guard on the Bridge to Fort Tetryn gives you the clue Ishtar.
  • The Guard below the Order of Wind in Fort Tetryn, "Lady in Raven's Keep" clue.
  • The keeper of the accessory shop in Raven's Keep will buy it for 50 Gold - decline! 100 Gold - decline! 1000 Gold - decline, when you want a better reward than the Achievement "Silver Swordman". Joseph Cline shall be in Ishtar.
  • A costumer in the tavern of Old Raven's Keep, clue "lives on an Island near Ishtar".
Once you have the ship at the beginning of chapter 4, visit the museum in Doveport to find the last clue and unlock the Joseph Cline's Hideout south of the Giant Trees.
Knock on his door.
Once he starts writing, you have the chance to look at his Clock and then talk to him again.
Reward: Achievement "The Silver Swordman", Life Crystal and Ghostwriter's Quill (Hiro only).
Side Quests Part 2 (from Chapter 3 onwards)
Razing a Family
North of Walleye Docks is the Snowy Cave.

Mobs: White Wolf

Grease the Minecart with the Minecart Grease found in the hut.
Now you have some choices (the wrong order will let you miss a side quest):

Ride the Minecart with the levers in an order so that you will fall into the hole and take the Rusted Sword.
That starts the side quest "The Lost Blade".
Now return to the Minecart.

Take the Shovel, fill the Minecart with Rubble and push it with the levers in an order so that each trail will be taken once.
Cross the bridge and pull the last lever.
Now turn the first 3 levers until the cart will reach the end and ride the Minecart.

In the next room ride the minecart directy back to reach 500 Gold.
Return and flip the next lever and ride the minecart until you are back at the starting position.

Pull both levers and ride the minecart.
Pull all three levers and ride the minecart.
Ride the Minecart again and you should reach the north area.

In the next area you can pass through the wall and reach the top.
There you can find the grave of Winter's Dog and Niflroot.

Boss Pack Leader: Get rid of the White Wolfes (which will appear bit by bit) with Flame and Hero-Slash and Winter should only steal from the boss (Arctic Fur, Cherub Down, Hi-Potion, 2000 Gold). Madilyn heals when necessary.

Return to Walleye Docks and cure Winter's Mom.
Reward: Achievement "Razing a Family", 3000 EXP and you can rest for free in Winter's bed.

The Lost Blade
Madilyn will start to show the Rusted Sword to each weapon shop owner you meet.
  • Walleye: He sends you to the weaponsmith in Raven's Keep.
  • Fort Tetryn: He sends you to the weaponsmith in Raven's Keep.
  • Raven's Keep: He identifies it as Flamebrand. Together with a Essence of Fire and 1000 Gold he will restore it.
After 10 minutes you can obtain the Flamebrand and unlock the Achievement "The Lost Blade".

Echos of Eternity
Projections (Venice Street): 1 (residence), 1 (at the northern cliff)
Projections (Zephyr Street): 1 (market place), 1 (residence)
Projections (Antechamber): 2, the 2nd will play automatically
Reward: Achievement "Echos of Eternity", EXP depending on how many Projections you have seen.

The Hunt for Malice
Once you have obtained the Ship at the beginning of chapter 4, you can reach the island near Walleye Docks.
Walk several times over the center of the island to trigger the battle.

Boss Malice: Immune to magic, so use it only to buff and heal yourself. Steal Elixir, Horn of Malice. Keep Provoke active.
Phase 2 is Dark Malice: you can steal the same drops again. Healing Link on a party member you want to heal is helpful. Hastaga is great, too.
Phase 3 is Omega Malice: repeat the tactic and steal his items again as well as a Life Crystal. Protect Madilyn with Mystic Barrier! Cast Thorn and debuffs when possible.
Drops 22.000 EXP and 10.000 Gold.

Reward: Achievement "The Hunt for Malice" and Rune Blade.

Helping the Poor
Sell the crystal shard to the Tier 1 Imports (accessory shop) in the Noble District in Ivalice.

Reward: Achievement "Helping the Poor" and 10.000 EXP.

East Ishtar Trading Co
Meet Wessex in the shop in the slums of Ivalice talk to the employee there).
Use the secret knock at the door.
Next meeting place is in a small forest south of Ivalice (marked).

Enter the Dark Forest.
Items (entrance): Magical Shield, Crumbled Note (old campfire)

A Link to the Past
Travel to Bredon Village and look at the hero statue.
Enter the westernmost house and talk to the granny.
Next talk to the older people in town.
  • The cat lover Ethel in the farm house: Defeat the predators and bring 10x Dire Bear Pelt to her.
    Reward: History of the Headband and his mother Maera.
  • The old woman Patricia tending her garden at the NW house: Pull the weeds x 7
    Reward: History of when Maera tells Hiro's father about her pregnancy
  • The old fisherman Willaby in the tavern: Offer to catch him fish and obtain his Fishing Gear. Bring 10x Purple Fish and 10 x Green Fish from the lake to the north.
    Best try to bait them near your location or you will loose the bait.
    The amount of fish is random and you can request more Bait from Willaby (10x Worm and 10 Oystre).
    Worm Bait is for the lighter Green Fish and you have to hold the action key or right direction key once baited.
    Oyster Bait is for the Purple Green Fish.
    The Crab bait if for the Boulder that cannot be fished.
    Reward: Story about the pregnancy
  • The old blacksmith Patchy in the weapon shop: Offer to mine him ore in the (then unlocked) mine to the north and obtain Patchy's Pickaxe. Bring back 10x Iron Ore.
    Mobs: Alpha Bat, Confusing Alpha Bat
    Items: Iron Ore (Mining), Hiro's Bromide 4
    The ore can only be mined once.
    Reward: History about Patchy's accident, Hiro's Birth and Maera's death.

Well, only the rewards are in order, and the one who tells it might change.

Return to the granny and unlock the gravesite of Hiro's mother marked to the north.
Visit the grave.
Reward: Achievement "A Link to the Past" and 20.000 EXP.

The Sun Renevant

Yeah, the Guardian Dragons from the source are mobs here.
Reach the top floor, take the item and pull the switch.

Boss Tower Guardian: weak to ice. Drops 586 Gold, Sprocket, Gear.

After your victory you can take a short cut down.
You need to pull both switches.

Boss Sun Renevant: weak to Holy and Burst (enhanced + Dualcast). Death Mark + Thorn + Provoke + Tornado Strike helps, too. Madilyns healing is boosted when transformed. You might need some Mana Potions. Drops Life Crystal, Hi-Mana Potion, 2000 Gold, Jade Necklace.

Rewards: Achievement "The Sun Renevant", Sunstone (no random encounters when equipped) and 60.000 EXP.

The Moon Renevant
Notice the campfire and proceed to B1.
Via a secret passage you can reach the Elixir to the east.
Far to the south is a Hi-Mana Potion.
Following the path to B2 you find 5x Shuriken.

On B2 find Hi-Potion, Scroll of Esuna, Vampyr Staff and reach B3.
There gather 5000 Gold and a lit campfire.
Rest there to proceed.

Defeat the Eternal Slumber Cultist (Half Full Glass, Hi-Potion) and Pyromancer (Ancient Elemental Essence, Hi-Mana Potion, Mana Potion).

The water level has decreased and more Eternal Slumber mobs will appear now.
To change the water level again you can rest at a campfire.
Other Mobs: Eternal Slumber Agent (Living Metal)

Cross the wall and read the stone mural.
Return to F1 and find the now burning campfire (but don't rest as it won't restore your HP/MP).

Cross to the east side and reach F2.
First enter the east door, find the path over the creek and reach the Vampyr Dagger.
Then cross through the wall to the west and find the Demonscale Mail.
Go back and go through the west door and reach F1 again.

You can ignore the boss and just go to the exit.
Or you poke and wake it up.

Boss Moon Renevant: It is accompanied with 2x Control Orb (Living Metal, 300 Gold). The boss reflects the damage you deal to the Control Orbs. Drops Ring of Ultimate Focus, Life Crystal, 3241 Gold and Hi-Mana Potion. Remember that transformation will boost Madilyn's Aura II. Once the Control Orbs are defeated, you can deal damage to the boss with Thorn + Tornado Strike combos and burst (dualcast).

Reward: Achievement "The Moon Renevant", the Moonstone and 60.000 EXP.

Golden mobs are very rare and have 10x the MAX HP from their normal counterpart.
They can escape, so keep it from moving with Stun, Sleep, Paralyze...
They drop massive EXP (compared to the other mobs in the area).

Defeating one will unlock the Achievement "Smoke and Pancake?".

Thank you for the guide. Has been insanely helpful for navigating and dealing with the absurd spawn rate in some areas, as well as all the missables. And I never would have kept checking the clocks if you hadn't mentioned them.

1 missing item I noticed though.
- In Ch3 Mysterious Cave, you missed an Antivenom Ring. There's a fork in the path halfway through, left was progression and right had a dead end with a corpse on the far wall that you could loot for the ring. Though I honestly never used it anyway.
