How to use console commands on Company of Heroes

a guide on how to use console commands if you dont know how to use them.

{First Step}

Seting the game up for console commands

• Step 1 Go to the game.
  
• Step 2 Right click on the game select game properties.

• ctrl+shift+` For U.S keyboards
  
• German keyboards it will be ctrl+shift+ö
  
• Spanish keyboards ctrl+shift+Ñ and ctrl+shift+ ¬
  
• You can also use ctrl+shift and ` or ¬ and for some ctrl+shift and ' or @

How to set game up without steam

• Edit your games shortcut executable and then add -dev to the target line
  "C:\Program Files\...\RelicCOH.exe" -dev).
  
  But just get steam it makes it alot easier.

{Second step now you can use console}

Now you can use console here are a few commands

1.Change Popcap } Player_SetPopCapOverride(Game_GetLocalPlayer(), 1000)

2.Change Resources} Player_SetResource(Game_GetLocalPlayer(),RT_Fuel, 9999)

3.Change Resources} Player_SetResource(Game_GetLocalPlayer(),RT_Manpower, 9999)

4.Change Resources} Player_SetResource(Game_GetLocalPlayer(),RT_Munition, 9999)

5.Toggle FOW On/Off} FOW_RevealAll

6.Toggle Taskbar Off} Taskbar_hide

7. Toggle Taskbar On} Taskbar_show


In order for this to work you need to type it in exactly like i did use uppercase letter where there's uppercase letters also the } is not included in the first part of the console is the first uppercase letter for EX Player.

{Other Useful Commands}

Cheats

• Change command point values}And for Command points replace RT_ Manpower with RT_Command
  
• Big Head Mode} ee_bigheadmode(1/0) – Toggles the Big Head mode on (1) or off (0) if you want your infantry or units to look ridiculous.
  
  

  Technical console commands

• Set your game to custom speed} setsimrate(x)Sets the game speed, where X represents a number (i.e. setsimrate (3)) and the default speed is 10.
  
• Toggle taskbar Off} taskbar_hide – Hides the Taskbar
  
• Toggle taskbar On} taskbar_show – Shows the Taskbar
  
• Toggle messages Off} Message_Hide – Hides all incoming messages
  
• Toggle messages Off} Message_Show – Shows all incoming messages
  
• Toggle FPS} statgraph_channel("fps") – Displays how many frames-per-second your game is running at, useful.
  
• Restart Game} restart

Command to turn the player into AI during the match:

To let AI take over local player:
Misc_AIControlLocalPlayer()

To enable player AI:
AI_Enable(Game_GetLocalPlayer(), true)

To enable all AI players:
AI_EnableAll(true)

To disable player AI:
AI_Enable(Game_GetLocalPlayer(), false)

To disable all AI players:
AI_EnableAll(false)

To set the difficulty level of this AI player:
AI_SetDifficulty(Game_GetLocalPlayer(), AD_Easy)
AI_SetDifficulty(Game_GetLocalPlayer(), AD_Standard)
AI_SetDifficulty(Game_GetLocalPlayer(), AD_Hard)
AI_SetDifficulty(Game_GetLocalPlayer(), AD_Hardest)

Note: The player AI is set to Hard difficulty by default.
Note: The player AI will not get boosts on: resources, stats and modifiers.

Alright i found out why the cheats was not working seems like -dev is not working BUT dev- is
Why did it change? i have no clue but it looks like it change over to dev- so type in dev- in the launch thing and all the commands above me should work as normal no need to go into the files to make a short cut

Your hack worked. For other players still having a hard time, try this.

step 6. C: Program Files - Steam - steamapps - common - Company of Heroes

Once there, right click on RelicCOH (application) go to properties, select create shortcut, right click on that shortcut and go to the shortcut tab.

Where it says target, you will see: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe"

This is where you add the (space) -dev to the end.

To start the game, launch COH from that shortcut and go to the cheat menu.

Now you can enter the cheat codes and they should work.

2022/11/10, How to enable Console command (Mainly the Cheat commands)

1. Go to Library, Find Company of Heroes
2. Right click on it, Go to Properties
3.Go to Local Files, Click Browse
4. Find RelicCOH.exe
5. Right click on it, Make a "RelicCOH.exe shortcut"

6. Find this line of words
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam...RelicCOH.exe"
Add -dev behind it with a Space between like this.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam...RelicCOH.exe" -dev

7. Launch the game from the Shortcut
8. Use the Console commands as above shows.


I found out that Steam's Launch Option NO LONGER WORKS With "-dev" to enable Cheat console commands.
So if anyone sees this, Enjoy.

If the Original Guide Post sees this, Idk if you want to remove that Steam launch option as it doesn't work for me at all.

P.S
If you're an EAW Enjoyer and want to use Console commands.
Add -applaunch 228200 -mod europe_at_war -dev
and yes, Launch the Mod via the same shortcut of "RelicCOH.exe shortcut"

OK I am very frustrated, I cannot find the answer to this anywhere. I need some help PLEASE. I can access the console but, when the commands are entered I get the "attempt to call global 'Game Get LocalPlayer' (a nil value)". Yes I have tried several times with just about all the resource commands. I even tried the "FOW_RevealAll" but got something like "EOF" which Im assuming is end of file. I would very much appreciate someone to tell me what the "F**k I'm doing wrong. I've even copied and pasted the commands as others have typed.

Help please.
