Gravis Ultrasound and Music
От FatBoyMullet
A guide how to enable Gravis Ultrasound in DOSBOX.
It's not called Ultrasound for nothing, you will notice the difference between normal MIDI and the Ultrasound MIDI immediately.

How to enable Gravis Ultrasound
This enables midi music and Gravis Ultrasound. Which is better then the Sound Blaster emulation and the CD music. Of course this is a matter of taste.

First download:
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/about10574.html

Unpack the files, and put the ULTRASND411 folder in your blood folder.
(X:\Steam\steamapps\common\One Unit Whole Blood)

rename the ULTRASND411 to ULTRASND

Now open the dosboxBlood_setup.conf with a text editor. (also found in the blood folder)

find a line that says gus=false
change this to true

and add a line below that, that says:
ultradir=c:\ULTRASND (this is not the actual folder on your disk, but in DOSbox)

finally change the line in the conf file that says:
imgmount D game.inst -t iso

change this line to:
imgmount D game.gog -t iso

it will now mount the .gog file instead of the .inst file, this disables CD music, but keeps the cutscenes working (thanks for the tip, MrEWhite)

now you need to run the blood setup

Make a shortcut of the dosbox.exe in your blood folder.
Right click and open properties,
now add behind the target box -conf dosboxBlood_setup.conf.

So it will say something like:
"x:\Steam\steamapps\common\One Unit Whole Blood\dosbox.exe" -conf dosboxBlood_setup.conf

Now if you open the shortcut the setup will run.
Goto sound setting and set sound and music to Gravis Ultrasound, test if the music works, then your all set.

You can now run blood by save and run game. Or making another shortcut wich points to
dosboxBlood.conf.
But you need to make the same changes in this conf file.
