Introduction
Cat Crawlers is a gambling game created by the Swamp's Bosses. It is essentially a game of "Higher or Lower", but with a lot of confusing fluff mixed into the real game. Obviously this is a tactic the Bosses use to confuse and drain bar goers pockets, but a little simple knowledge of this game's true mechanics and you can game the system and make bank.

You may play Cat Crawlers by travelling to the Swamps and finding a bar run by the Bosses. The town I learned this game in is called Mud Town, it's small and safe, so you may want to start there.
Rules of the Game
It's pretty simple once you know what you're doing.
There are many "fluff" phrases and slangs used in the game to confuse you, below I will list the "real" phrases of the game. These are the only things you need to pay attention to.

Betting Phrases
1: Wolf Tail
2: Buxom Red
3: Chubby Nine
4: Stone Roller
5: Hungry Gutter
6: Arrow in the Neck
7: Plank

Mechanic Phrases
1: Fish
2: Roll Back
3: Licked It
4: Dry Out

The player is required to make an initial bet of 100 cats to play the game. Upon winning, they receive 200 cats, doubling the money that they bet with. Upon losing, no money is given to the player, and they have lost the 100 cats they bet.
"Licked it" refers to when the player has won the bet. So, if the bartender says something along the lines of: "And he's licked it! What do you say to another bet?" That means you won, and the appropriate amount of cats will be given to you. (200 for regular victory, 600 for jackpot. Jackpot is explained further down.)
"Dry Out" refers to the player losing the bet. The bartender will say something to the likes of: Oh, and it's a dry out! Better luck next time, care to bet again?" They will not be given back the 100 cats they initially bet, and will be offered to bet again.

Above is a list of 7 "Betting Phrases", those are the main part of the game. As I said before, this is a game of "Higher or Lower". You are trying to guess whether the next phrases rolled will be higher or lower on the list.

Choosing to "Fish" means you think the next phrase rolled will be lower on the list.
Choosing to "Roll Out" means you think the next phrase rolled will be higher on the list.

For example:
If the Dealer says you have a "Buxom Red", and you choose to "Fish", chances are you will win. Because Buxom Red is near the top of the list, there is only a 1/6 chance to lose, and a 5/6 chance to win.

If the Dealer says you have a "Hungry Gutter", and you choose to "Fish", chances are you will lose, but not by much. Since Hungry Gutter is near the middle, there is a 2/6 chance you will win, and a 4/6 chance you will lose.

If a Stone Roller is rolled, there is an equal chance for each option to win. As there are 3 above and 3 below, Fishing and Rolling Out both have a 3/6 chance to win. Just pick whichever option you're feeling, as there literally is no strategy for Stone Rollers.

Getting Steam Roller means you rolled the same thing twice in a row. So if you rolled a Buxom Red, Fished, and got a Steam Roller, that means you rolled another Buxom Red. Steam Rollers are always wins, as far as I can tell. (Take this note with a grain of salt, as no one really seems to know what a Steam Roller means.)

Another mechanic is the Jackpot. Basically, if you get a Buxom Red, and you bet Wolf Tail and win, you win the jackpot. You also get the jackpot if you get a Arrow in the Neck, bet Plank, and win. It is a way of betting against the odds. You may only have the chance of winning the jackpot if you get a Buxom Red, or an Arrow in the Neck. You have a 5/6 chance to win the jackpot, I have won it several times, but if you're low on cats, it's better to play it safe.

There is no guaranteed way to win, unless you get a Wolf Tail or Plank. However, with this knowledge, you can make thousands of Cats with relative ease. Just make sure not to accrue any debt, you wouldn't want to become a slave to the Bosses now...

They were, in a sense that 90% of what they say is meaningless. They intentionally try to confuse you to extort you, but you can learn their language eventually.

Sorry for the confusion! I've updated the guide with several new things to fix this issue. I'll put a short changelog below.
Changed Roll Out to Roll Back, correcting it according to the wiki
Added section explaining Jackpots
Added "Dry Out" to list of Mechanic Phrases
Added section explaining the betting mechanics more in depth, including parts that explain the phrases "Licked it" and "Dry Out". As well as the initial betting costs, and the costs and winnings in exact amounts.
