How to wavedash

this guide is a tutorial guide made solely because I would like to be helpful to those players that are just now beginning to either play celeste or play the b sides/c sides

wavedash basics

in celeste, to wavedash you will first need to jump upwards, press down right or left (depends on where you need to go), dash, after touching the ground immediately jump and if done correctly you will get a speed boost plus the dash will be recharged.
the wavedash is useful especially to skip some parts in some levels (like core or farewell) or when speedrunning

sections where the wavedash will be useful

-chapter 8, during the third checkpoint section to clear large distances and avoid being killed by lava or ice
-chapter 7 B side, the second to last checkpoint of the summit requires a wavedash to clear a big gap at the start of the screen. resetting the dash will allow to get on the cloud more consistently
-chapter 9, there are a lot of screens where the increased speed buff might help to get consistent
-chapter 6, both A and B side, to clear large gaps

You can wavedash off a wall by holding up instead of down, dashing into the wall and jumping
idk if it's called wavedashing tho

If you hold down during the jump off the ground you get a shallower angle, but you go farther faster as well.
