Shining Resonance Refrain
General Tips:
Tip 1:
You can begin the game using the "Refrain Mode" to avoid playing the game twice if you'd like. The story plays out exactly the same as Original Mode, but you are given two new characters to use in your party (if you want). These two characters have their own endings, and are involved in a few other achievements; five total achievements require Refrain mode.

Tip 2:
After beating the game once, you will have access to some new content and be free to work on any achievements you have left. I would suggest working on the rest of the achievements in the following order:

  • Complete any remaining character endings (see "Prelude of Love")
  • Complete the "Wheel of Fortune" achievement
  • Complete the "Requiem for the Enemy" achievement
  • Complete the "Tune Heard 'Round the World" achievement
  • Complete the "Dragon Tough" achievement

Pioneer of Alfheim
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Collected 200 different Materials.

Materials are found from glowing harvest points and given by allies during conversations with positive interactions, but most will come from battle. There are tons of different materials types in the game, so this will come with no trouble along the way to completing the story. You don't have to have 200 unique ones in your inventory at once, so feel free to use anything you collect as needed. It helps to have the "Steal Attack" aspect on the character you control in battle as well, you'll get a lot of materials this way.
Continental Round Trip!
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Visit every location on the map.

Story-related and cannot be missed.
Alchemaniac
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Synthesize 50 different items or Aspect Pieces.

You will learn about this in Chapter 2, and can do it via Rapple in town, or the fire at any campsite. Synthesizing is done by combining various materials to create an item or enhancement of some kind. You need to create 50 unique items, so you can't spam the cheapest one to unlock this, but there are a lot of various items that you can create, so you can just work on the 50 cheapest different ones instead.
Super Synthesis
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Synthesize a rare Aspect Piece.

A "rare" Aspect Piece is considered something that requires a unique item. I personally got mine crafting the "Sea Soul" aspect, which required only one "Glacial Breath" which dropped from an ice dragon of some kind. You should get a decent number of unique items as you defeat bosses and rare monsters you come across. Find something that looks impressive and try crafting it, likely you'll be successful.
The Tune Heard 'Round the World
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Collect all Tunings.

There are four unique steps to this achievement.

1. Your main goal as you play the game will be to complete all of Fernando's quests. He will have one per chapter from 2-8 (six quests total; nothing in Chapter 7) which will give one new tuning per character, and the video below outlines how to complete each of those.

2. Your secondary goal will be to make sure you do not switch the tuning on anyone's weapons. You need to max out at least one weapon per character (Rank 30), as this will reward that character with an additional three tunings. You can use "score" items to quickly increase a weapon's rank as well.

3. After the game is complete, you will need to do the "Requiem for the Enemy" achievement for killing seven different Level 100 enemies. Each of these enemies will reward each character with another tuning.

4. Lastly, purchase these nine sigils from Liselotte: Magician’s Eye, Imperial Ninja, Berserker Blade, Beowulf’s Revenge, Shining Priestess, Shining Princess, Magician Knight, Bullet Witch, Imperial Blade. Each of these will be used in the Grimoire, and you need to get the rarest chest to spawn after completing each. Which chest spawns is completely random, unfortunately. I would suggest saving prior to using each sigil and reloading if the white chest with the tuning does not spawn. You will miss out on a lot of experience, but save a ton of money (the sigils cost 10k each). The only exception to this would be if you get a Jackpot sigil as a reward. Using this in conjunction with the sigil to spawn the boss will give an increased chance of the white chest spawning at the end, cutting the number of attempts you'll have to do down by a lot.

To recap:
  • Complete all six Fernando quests (+1 per character per quest)
  • Max at least one tuning per character (+3 per character)
  • Complete the "Requiem for the Enemy" achievement (+1 per character per monster)
  • Complete nine unique dungeons in the Grimoire (+1 per character per sigil)
Maestro
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Raise any Tuning to the highest rank.

The max rank for any given Tuning is Rank 30. These level up simply by having them equipped and using them in battle, though you can use items called "Scores" to increase their level as well. You should max out a Tuning by Level 45 if you keep the initial one equipped and don't use any boost items though.
Knight of Astoria
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Win a battle.

You will get this for winning your first fight during the tutorial in the castle.
Dragoneer, Forward!
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Defeat 500 monsters.
Dragoneer, Charge!
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Defeat 1000 monsters.
Dragoneer, Awaken!
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Defeat 2000 monsters.
Hit Maker
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Achieve a 99-hit combo.

This can be done fairly easily with Sonia. Use her attack on the "Y" button against mini-boss like a Orc.
B.A.N.D. Member
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Perform a B.A.N.D. session.

Watch the "Center Stage" achievement for more information.
Center Stage
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Perform a B.A.N.D. session with each character as the Center.

Once you unlock the ability to perform a B.A.N.D. session, toward the end of Chapter 2 once you get your fourth party member, you can begin working on this. As you attack in battle, the new gauge on the left side of the screen will fill. So long as you have one full bar of that filled, you can press "RB button" to begin a song. You will change the leader of your band in the game menu, and you'll need to rotate party members to use all of them. Obviously this will have to wait until your final party member joins (Lestin), and don't forget to use Sonia when she is eligible as well.

important!
If you don't start on Refrain mode, this will unlock in your second playthrough. Jinas and Excella count toward this achievement.
Dragon Soul Inheritor
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Use Dragonshift for the first time.

Watch the "Center Stage" achievement for more information.
Quelled Dragon
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Quell the Shining Dragon from a berserk state.

This will have to wait until you can use the B.A.N.D. feature in battle (see "Center Stage"), and then you will want to make sure you have at least one bar of the B.A.N.D. gauge filled. Transform into the Shining Dragon during battle by pressing "LB" then "RB" with Yuma and command your party members to not attack.
so they don't finish the fight. It costs MP to stay in dragon form and once your MP runs out, Yuma's dragon will lose control and you'll take over someone else. At this point, perform a song with B.A.N.D. Press "RB" and the dragon will calm down and unlock the achievement.

important:
Make sure you get this achievement early in the game. Sometime in Chapter 5 you will no longer go berserk when using the dragon. I read somewhere that there is an item that allows him to go berserk even after learning to control the dragon, but I have no confirmation on this so I am leaving it as missable for now.

Dragonshift Tour
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Won over 100 battles using Dragonshift.

To dragonshift in battle, you will press "LB" an then "RB" while controlling Yuma. You can get these done quickly during normal battles by transforming when one enemy is left to conserve your MP.
Swift Conductor
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Trigger 10 advantageous encounters.

An advantageous encounter occurs when you approach an enemy from behind on the world map to start a battle. You will have a few seconds of free action before they begin attacking. You can get this early in Chapter 2 easily.
Advancing Melody
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Win a battle without taking damage.

This one is obvious and extremely easy. I got it during my first fight with Sonia during the tutorial.
Sound of Silence
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Win a battle with a party member incapacitated.

If you're playing on Casual, you likely won't die very often. However, some of the bosses can do some hefty damage if someone is in the wrong spot at the wrong time. If it fails that you are legitimately killed, you can also use the squad commands and tell everyone to stop attacking and let someone be killed by a normal group of enemies, then turn everyone loose again and finish the fight.
Dragon Tough
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Raise any party member to level 100.

First Break
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Trigger a Break.

A "break" occurs when you do enough damage to an enemy over time, lowering their defense and stunning them for a short period. There are also "break attacks" (Y) that will increase the chance of a break happening. You will get a tutorial on this early in the game.
Guard Breaker
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Trigger a Break on blocking enemies 30 times.

This is one of the harder enemy types to find, but soldiers with shields will block often, as will lizardmen. Use Sonia since her break attack (Y) attack to break an enemy quickly.
Resonance Forte
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Trigger a Resonance 30 times.

A "resonance" occurs in battle when an ally buffs you. It happens randomly and I got it during Chapter 2. There are weapon upgrades that can increase the chance and I think the affection system can increase things as well, but you'll get this without actually doing anything early in the game.
Force Medley
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Use Force abilities 100 times.

Force abilities are used by pressing (LB) and then any of the face buttons. You can change which skills you have equipped in the game menu. Use any 100 of these abilities, with any character, to unlock the achievement.
You're Going Down
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Defeat a rare monster.

The first Rare monster you'll come across is during the first story mission of Chapter 3. You'll have to fight an Orc, and right behind that Orc in the woods you'll see a large gryphon. Kill that to unlock the achievement. Rare monsters will show up often as large red dots on the map. Most of the time they have a unique name, and are often affected by the weather. You'll likely come across a rare monster on accident, but the gryphon is an extremely easy one to find.
Requiem for the Enemy
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Defeat powerful foes throughout Alfheim.

After beating the game at least once, seven new Level 100 monsters will spawn throughout the world. Playing on Casual, you should have little trouble defeating them quickly at Level 70 or above. The hardest fight is against a large group of Imperial soldiers, though if you take out the ranged enemies first and be sure to have some revive items on hand, you'll get through it no problem. The monsters are in the following locations (in the order they appear in the video below):

  • Elmore Greatwood (Glaucus Falls) - Urd, Skuld, and Verandi
  • Djingharna Ruins (Dragon Shrine) - Chaos Blood
  • Gaelritz Prison Top Floor - Abyss Dragon
  • Gaelritz Prison Bottom Floor (Library of Memories) - Shadow Knight
  • Fort Garahl, Stronghold of the Empire (Maelgius Cathedral) - Vortec
  • Mount Glanciel (Old Castle Theater) - Mad Bull
  • Logos Tundra (Dragon Shrine) - Hell Master

Prelude of Love
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
View Excella's ending in Refrain mode.

You can get all of the character-specific endings during the same playthrough, and the process is the same for each character.

Step 1: Affection Conversations
As you play through the game, there are chances to speak with your friends in town or at campsites.

This Guide has all of the correct answers to choose during these encounters to maximize affection gains.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1441609494

You will know you selected the right one if a cloud of hearts pops into the air behind the character you're speaking to. There is one "main" conversation per chapter, per character.

Step 2: Night Events
Every time you fight in a certain number of battles with someone (usually 5-15 depending on the character), you will have the opportunity to use the "Invite" option to initiate a Night Event (find them in town or at camp). A moon will appear over their head if you're successful, and you'll need to Rest to start the event (either at the Inn if you're in town, or from the fire at a campsite). Consult the same guide from Step 1 here as well; many night events will have opportunities for further affection increases.

After a few successful Night Events, you will have the option of inviting the character on a date. The next day you can find them in town with a heart over their head. Use the Invite feature to start the date and you'll walk around town with them and see the sights. After three locations, the date will end. You will have to repeat this process five times in total over the course of the game with each character to qualify for their ending. You will know you've been successful if the ending of the date is much different than before, and you are given the following traits:

  • Agnum: Traveling Bandman
  • Kirika: Dream to Reality
  • Lestin: Elise's Disciple
  • Rinna: Cuddly
  • Marion: Fluttering Maiden
  • Sonia: Princess's Feelings

Jinas and Excella are a little unique for the ending achievements; they do not receive a trait for you to track this. After your first date with each, they will give you a sigil. Hold on to this item and still take them on five dates like everyone else to max their affection. You won't get that trait to know you've succeeded like with everyone else, but they are no different otherwise.

Once you arrive at the final campsite before the end of the game, you will see a heart above any character whose ending is ready to unlock (see image below). You need to speak to one of them and then beat the boss to see their ending. After the game is over, you will be placed right back before the final boss and can then select the next person to see their ending. Repeat this process, beating the boss eight times, to get all the endings. If you had not finished dating someone when you beat the game, you can repeat the dates above until you get their trait, then return to the final campsite and repeat this step.

Know Others, Know Thyself
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Acquire 100 different Traits.

Traits are different titles essentially that can be changed, and will give various bonuses based on who you are paired with in the Bond menu. Most traits will come automatically through the story, while some will be earned for equipping different costumes, doing night events and dates, or found in treasure chests. There are well over 100 in the game between all the characters, so I don't think a list is necessary (especially since like 70-80% are story related). Just be sure to go for all the endings and find every chest in each area and you should have no problem.
Wheel of Fortune
Achievement Unlocked!
Description
Fulfill the wishes of the two and speak to the orchestrator of Refrain.

This achievement obviously requires that you be playing in Refrain mode.Watch the "Prelude of Love" achievement for more information on how to date your allies, and follow those steps to be eligible for both Excella and Jinas' endings. After the first date with each, they will give you a sigil as a present. You will get the Glass Slipper from Excella and Full Moon from Jinas.

Make sure you DO NOT use these in the Grimoire..

You will only ever get one copy of each, and they must be in your inventory to unlock this achievement.

After unlocking both "Prelude of Love" and "Equals" (on the same save file), and ensuring you have the two sigils mentioned above in your inventory, you must speak with Alfriede in town or at a camp to unlock this achievement.
