This guide will not show in detail what you should do in each state of the game, but will instead provide tips for a more optimized progress.

Basics
Cell to Singularity is an idle game, the goal is to progress through the tree of evolution to learn more about the world.

Gameplay is pretty symbol, the game presents many kinds of currency, which can be earned by tapping/clicking on screen or from idling (AFK or completely shut down the game). Player then can use these currencies to buy generators, which give you passive income. And then again use that income to unlock and purchase more generators and upgrades. This is basically what you do most of the time.

The twist is that not every upgrades or generators are straightforward better than the previous one for some gamemode, and finding the optimal way to progress is what makes idle game interesting.

If you don't know, this game can be played on Android, iOS. The progress can be synced to cloud. I'd really recommend you to play it on the phone as it is:
  • Provide better portability
  • Boosts. It's a two-side benefit as you help the devs by watching ads (if you are willing to) for some boosts which really helps you progress faster.

PRIMARY SIMULATION
Entropy: from Cell to Human
Say hello to your first currency: Entropy. As i mentioned earlier, tap till you can buy your first generator (Amino Acid), yes its passive income is really really slow so you will have to resort to tapping for a while. Actually for the whole Primary Simulation, it's encouraged to Tap while you are online.

#1 tips: So PLEASE use auto-clicker.

You will encounter some temporary bonuses that require you to pay with a premium currency: Darwinium (a purple-pink cube). Don't! You will need lots of these later on.

Thanks the Traveler for a detailed and up-to-date guide of redeemable code for free Darwinium:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2257418854

Save up till you can buy some upgrades, prior those with Entropy Tap boost.
You can start to buy some generators. They not only increase your Tap quality (more entropy) but also unlock more upgrades after they reach certain amount (50,100,..). But don't spend too much on these as you will unlock better ones soon, it's better to just level them up til they get to 50, and later 100 for the last upgrade. Old generators may earn you more than a newer one, only until you get enough upgrades for the newer.

Keep repeating the process.

You can leave the game on and do something else or just close it and come back later. There are better things to do so I don't encourage to waste too much time in this game.

#2 tips: Drink more water. Take a sip now, it's good for your health!

#3 tips: Remember, this is an idle game. Progress is slow so be patient, hold your excitement for the long run.

After you unlock the Flatworm, there will be a Dinosaur's skull nearby. Tap on it and a new gamemode will be unlocked. This is Mesozoic Valley, which acts as a parallel simulation to progress. You can jump right to it now and follow the guide for Mesozoic Valley below but I recommend to do it later in the game when your progress in the Primary Simulation is slow.

As the numbers goes higher and higher, it may cause a bit confusion for some people.

#4 tips: You can change how the currency is displayed in Menu, I prefer the Custom one

Idea: from Human to Singularity
Great! You have unlocked apes and humans. Same process as above but now you are presented with your second currency: Idea.

Ideas are used solely for the upper branch (from the Abstract Thinking and up) which separate from Entropy as for the lower branch. So I'd recommend focus your Tap on the Idea branch for now and check back on the Entropy branch once every 30 minutes or so.

Remember #2 tip 😉

Soon you will come to your first encounter with....The Singularity....

Your game crash?
...
Mine did, too. Don't worry. And... Congrats! You complete the game...I mean, the run.
...
Oh, I haven't told you that there isn't just 1 run?
...

Metabit: Reality Engine

You should notice there is a new currency pops off. It's Metabit, currency for the Terminus Chamber, where we will arrive shortly.

By now, you should have purchased most of the upgrades or every. Wait for some time so that the metabits can stack up a little, mine was around 5000.

Purchase The Singularity and proceed.

Use metabits to purchase significant upgrades for your simulation. Prior these:
  • Value Sorting - helps sort out the most efficient generator
  • Simulation Speed
  • Nanobots
You can ignore the Neural Network for now.

Now you have to start over from the beginning. No, not the beginning beginning, the 2nd beginning, where your simulation speed is way faster. This and later runs will focus on building up metabits for the full upgrades of the Reality Engine.

Oh and don't forget the #2 tip 😉

After the reset, you now have access to The Beyond. It's the same as Mesozoic Valley but features astronomical exploration.
MESOZOIC VALLEY
The Mesozoic Valley is another gamemode in Cell to Singularity. Progress in this mode unlock more upgrades for your Primary Simulation.

This gamemode is a real deal as it takes A LOT OF time to progress.

#5 tip: For The Mesozoic Valley and The Beyond, if you follow my advice and play it on the phone, you should stack full the x4 overdrive bonus at the bottom left of the screen every time you play. It really helps a lot.

The basic currency is Fossil and prestige one is Mutagen, which can be earned when you buying generators and unlocking geodes.

The Mesozoic Valley has some new features:
  • The Traits Card System - replace the Upgrade system, cost Mutagen.
  • Asteroid - can be triggered after certain task are completed, basically a reset. Each increases level by 1.
  • Dinosaur don't auto until they have their first trait unlocked.
  • There is a shop tab that offer free geode every 4hrs. 2 more can be purchased with Darwinium.

As for the Traits System, there are some tips:
  • newly unlocked dinosaur traits are locked until certain level is reached
(see the table below for detail)
That's why it's better to follow this table to choose which dinosaur you should main for that level.

  • You won't have enough mutagen to fully upgrade all dinosaurs. It is advised to choose 1 or 2 from the 3 most profitable dinosaur to upgrade.

  • If you can, save up for the Volcano Relic in Logit Console.

For example: Imagine I'm level 10, and just acquired the newly unlocked Sauropoda. I will choose to main Pterosaur (as its traits are fully unlocked) and Saurischia (as its the most recent one and have already unlocked the automate card)

At level 50, you can Prestige. It's likely to be a big reset, you lose all common cards but the epic and rare ones are saved and you also get a 50% bonus payout every time you Prestige. You can Prestige up to 10 times.

From Prestige 2 and up to 10, try to first upgrade the 3 dinosaurs that bring you the most outcome until a certain level (about 100) before start progressing tasks. At this point, the game is nothing but endless loop and grind so you should focus on other gamemode and come back here once every while.
THE BEYOND
If you have already read my Mesozoic Valley guide above then The Beyond is most likely the same.

Again, this gamemode is a real deal as it takes A LOT OF time to progress.

re-mention #5 tip: For The Mesozoic Valley and The Beyond, if you follow my advice and play it on the phone, you should stack full the x4 overdrive bonus at the bottom left of the screen every time you play. It really helps a lot.

The basic currency is Stardust and prestige one is Dark Matter, which can be earned when you buying generators and unlocking Dwarf Planet.

However, there is some tweek in this gamemode:
  • Every time you unlock a generator to its next rank, the payout get a x3 bonus.
  • Prestige - same as Asteroid Trigger.
  • Next Rank buy function.
  • Astronomy Mission
  • Constellation

As usual, the newly unlocked star will be better than previous ones only after some upgrades. But unlike the Mesozoic Valley that locked traits at higher level which makes invest in the latest dinosaur a bad decision, The Beyond encourages us to invest in the most recent ones.
For example: If your next 2 3 mission ask for planet that are not among the 3 most recent ones, you can ignore it and go for the one that has.

Still remember the #2 tip? Good.

When you idle for quite a time, you can invest most of your stardusts on some rank of your most profitable generators instead of going for mission objectives.

For the Astronomy Mission, do all the 'Reduce cost' mission first (the 3rd tab).

#6 tip: Spend 20 Darwinium for the extra research slot, it's really worth it.

#7 tip: Depend on the progress, you can now spend 100 Darwinium for the Super Giant Star or buy the Diamond Node in Mesozoic Valley. The Epic and Rare cards help a lot and will save you a lot of time. I prefer the Diamond Node as MZ progress is way slower.

Some tips for the Constellations, unlock them as below order:
  1. Scorpius: Celestial body - Best for early game.
  2. Sagittarius/Virgo: Dwarf Planet/Comet - Choose one, remember, only one of two then head for Aquarius, help you progress faster in certain stage of the game.
  3. Aquarius: Oort Cloud - Late game.
  4. Aries: Star - Last thing you need for Ep1. Get it before you unlock Heliosphere will also help a bit.
  5. Eridanus: Interstellar Object - Cost quite a lot. Luckily by this time you will also unlock the Constellation Fragjments Research. The one thing you need for the whole level 19 and future content.
(refer to the Star type below for more information)

Unlike Mesozoic Valley, The Beyond is being updated gradually so by the time you get MAX current level, there is really nothing much to do here, but do comeback every once a while for that research reward so you have a small headstart for up-to-come content.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Cell to Singularity has quite a lot of achievements. Most of them are just threshold objective, you will get it when you unlock a certain amount of generators or so. The others are Secret Achievements that grant you some Darwinium.

For players who want the Perfect Game on Steam, all you need to do are:

Good question. I don't have any rules for when to reboot but I can summarize it into two phases:
1. Before you unlock every nodes in Reality engine: reset whenever you saw some upgrades that can significantly boost production rate or simply you have idle for a bit of time but still far from the next affordable upgrade
2. After you unlock every nodes: check if the overall multiply for Primary Sim increase by an adequate amount >> reset (you can do it every 0.2 or 0.5, it depends on your reference)

Because it costs nothing every reset, just the time for you to upgrade everything back to the moment before you do the reset, it's not really important to when to do it optimally. As after you have unlock all the nodes in Reality Engine, it's most likely you have done Primary Sim, and the metabit production rate means no value until there is some update to it.

I forgot to ask, does it help if I reboot the Reality Engine Simulation even if I can't buy an upgrade or should I only reboot when I can afford an upgrade?

1》There is really no faster way, this is an idle game, it is designed so that you gotta spend time for it, and I guess that's why people play this sorta genre.
2》Hmm.. I would suggest prioritize Primary as it would be the "main" way to earn metabits and yes it progress way slower than the other two
Have fun. :broflex:

I need some advice, please: 1) How can I earn hundreds of trillions Metabits faster to progress in Reality Engine? 2) When buying Artifacts with Logits should I prioritize Primary, Mesozoic Valley or Beyond?

I would very strongly recommend playing on PC, because of one very large reason: every single key on the keyboard (excluding wasd, 1, 2, esc, tab, fn, and the arrow keys) can be used for clicking, and this means that achieving 30~35 fps is comically easy. The same can't be said about mobile, where the UI gets in the way quite a lot.

Secret Achievement #21 is the alpaca on Machu Picchu
