How to use CHEATS on Stardew Valley

While Stardew Valley offers a wealth of content and activities, some players may find themselves yearning for a different experience—whether it's obtaining resources quickly, bypassing certain challenges, or simply indulging in limitless possibilities.

Here, you'll learn 2 ways of using cheats: with mods and without them.

Without Mods

The name change cheat in Stardew Valley utilizes a clever loophole to grant players access to various items instantly. By entering a specific item ID as your character's name, the game interprets it as a command to spawn the corresponding item in your inventory.

For this cheat, you will need:

• Level up your friendship with the Wizard to at least 4 hearts.

• Have a telephone (recommended).
  You can buy it at Robin's.
  
• 500 g.

1. Go to the Wizard's tower.

The wizard is open from 6 am to 11 pm. Go to the back of the room.

2. Enter the secret room and go to the statue.

3. Change your name.

Here, you'll have to change your name to the item's ID you want to spawn in between brackets [].

In this example, I wanted to spawn a tulip, an emerald and an iridium sparkler.

• You can only have 3 IDs MAXIMUM. Otherwise, the cheat won't work.

4. Go home and use the telephone.

Now, for the items to spawn, the NPCs must mention your name. You can do this by talking to your spouse or receiving a letter, but the easiest and most efficient way is by talking on the telephone.

5. Call Marnie or Gus

Up to this date, Marnie and Gus are the only characters who mention your name over the telephone. When they do so, the game gives you the items.


Keep in mind you have to call them when their shop is open.

6. Profit

Keep calling them just like phone companies until you have everything you need. You can either sell the items or use them for something else (for example: Completing the museum, completing the community center, using it for your farm, etc).

7. Go back to the Wizard tower and change back your name.

With Mods

After installing, press P to access the cheat menu.
This mod modifies gameplay aspects, such as time, player speed / energy / health, damage, relationships, etc.

After installing, press I to access the spawn menu.
From there, you can search and filter items. Click on the desired item to get it in your inventory.

These cheats are way more complete than doing so without mods, however it's totally up to you what you do with your game.

The shrine of illusions can be unlocked "sooner", depending on how quickly you complete the community center/jojamart. You're far more likely to get friendship levels up faster, but currently I only have three hearts with the Wizard (summer year 3. I'm slow, I know). After completing the dark talisman quest you should get after that, you can get access to the witch's hut. Inside is a spell circle that will teleport you to the Wizard's basement regardless of your relationship with him. You can leave it through his tower like normal.

some people don't know XML.

The save game files are basically XML. You can edit them directly. Most I typically do is add sprinklers to my inventor as I find watering the least enjoyable part of this game.
